ZAPPOS.COM SUES WALT DISNEY COMPANY, Inc. has filed a class action lawsuit against the Walt Disney Company over false advertising. Tony Hsieh, CEO of Zappos, says it's just one battle in his efforts to prevent companies from making misleading claims.

The lawsuit alleges that Disneyland's tagline of being "The Happiest Place on Earth" is "clearly false, deceptive, and confusing to the marketplace",and cites internal Net Promoter Score (NPS) metrics that suggest that the designation should be given to, Inc.

A legal representative from Zappos declined to comment, citing company policy on pending litigation. Representatives from Disney did not immediately return phone calls seeking comment.

A local Las Vegas news station uncovered additional details immediately after the actual filing of the lawsuit.

ROFL!!! I LOVE The Onion feel to the news report. That was so well done, it screamed The Onion! That was too funny. <3 <3 <3 What a clever idea. "We just think it's fundamentally wrong that Disneyland can call it's self the happiest place on earth." HAHAHA!

Loved your book "Delivering Happiness"; your life story is compelling and inspiring! What guts to see it through! YOur emphasis on culture and customer service is what we do at Gallery Furniture.

Inspired by your book I ordered a pair of Luchesse Cowboy boots from last Thrusday before noon and paid for 2nd day shipping. Here I am Monday morning and I still do not have the boots! What's up with that? I hope Zappos keeps their customer service edge it had when you were the main shareholder! Thanks again for the insiteful book.

Dear Mr. Hsieh, My name is Glenn Gabrang from Palmdale, California, and I wanted to talk to you regarding a concept that I have in my mind, but due to limited resources I could not make it happen. It is a website that is not yet done and I would like to find someone that have the resources financially and technically. Maybe if you have time to look about my concept and to see if it is viable. I am hoping to hear from you.

It's a warehouse store not a cult....i like that you try to reflect culture of positive empathic and warmth to your customers and employees but ironically choosing Disney (Clearly sometimes a nice company to some employees but clearly a capitalist beast willing to spew out drek movies etc. etc.) well okay so I am a bit of a fan but I have a bit of angst feeling sucked into a cult that is after all based on profit, large warehouses and aint in downtown main street--I am sure all your folks working there be it in Vegas on the phones or in Lousiville in the warehouse are family but your choice of Disney should cause some self reflections (tongue in cheek or not). For example, if you really are the "happiest place to on earth" -how much is the difference between the lowest and highest paid employee? Does the "Ben and Jerry's" employee pay rule apply-that is the CEO can not make more than eight times the lowest paid line worker filling sneaker orders???

IF not then you aint what you profess chief...and I aint no commie believe me--these are not simple issues but if you want Zappo's to truly be the cult of a store you are achieving pretty well so far it takes substance-you have shown it on the customer service end, we customers like to know that the people working there are not just fed the kool-aid and saying "Welcome to Zappo's my name is Misty may I take your order-with a Stepford wives stare" we would like genuinely happy people who get paid well in reflection of loyal customers, who pay a premium for good customer service and to deal with a good company--pretty high bar ey (especially if you are wholly owned subsidiary-DOH!)..alas-okay so I am a zealot...we have a purpose...ask Wavy Gravy.. BTM
