Day 780

Posted by Dr. Vik Jun 19, 2009

What we see in the mirror...

Is not always what others see.

We are all unique and beautiful in our own special way.

Yet, we don't always see it. This is because some of us are self
critical, and our worthiness or self esteem is usually below the view
of what others see.

Yes, most people think more highly of us than we do of ourselves, and
we should attempt to raise our view of ourselves to at least match the
view of where others see us, for starters. Why not? We only have to change our perception.

And if we have a hard time raising the view of ourselves - just keep at
it, and in the meantime...remember, "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder".

"It's not always what others see" I found this part of the message dual edged. I, after multiple abusive relationships, am finally in a marriage where I see myself as valuable & beautiful every time I look in my husbands eyes. I have yet to be able to see that person in the mirror, but I know that with time and patience she will be there. Your message has shown me that she IS there ... I just have to accept her.
One must remember that the self critical nature of some people is built upon words spoken by another. We must remember that these were only words and we are all Beautiful & Worthwhile. Thanks for the stepping stone to my next level of self love.
