That is probably the worst "food for thought for the day" as I have read. Please come up with something more inspirational than that".

I must also say that I am very disappointed with Zappos. I know you have sold out to Amazon, and I know it was about the economy, business and money, but I was hoping that you would hold out a bit longer. I do hope that this takeover will not affect your customer service and your great inventory of shoes for women. Thank you. Maggie Knapp of Atlanta

Ah process....we are all a work in progress!! And hopefully we will stay that way til the day we die. Die, death....am still processing the death of my 23 yr. old son which was 7 yrs. ago. My only child...shock for 2+ yrs. I am only beginning to be able to "go out in the world" and have some memory of it. You see, when your child dies, so does your short term memory and it's very frustrating. I chose to volunteer with the organization who handled the organ/tissue donations. For awhile this was a good thing, Todd helped 77 people. But I need more busy-ness so I now sub teach at the local high school. Love teenagers!! So, life is a process and I have learned to slow down and "smell the roses". I don't have a cell phone, you want me, leave a message on the answering machine. I'm learning I am a child of the Universe and my Creator loves even when I feel unlovable. I'm learning you get back what you put in, sometimes my days are just that, days. But sometimes I'm rewarded with amazing things, IF I pay attention! Ah yes, life is a process and I am in life, slowly and on my terms today. Never again will I allow myself to be swallowed by the insanity of society.........Peace.

Speaking of "bone" piles...thanks to my husband's furry friend, I only have one remaining bone leather flat. Buddy seems to prefer my left shoe; I've yet to find a replacement.

Thanks Dr. Vik!
This seems pretty relevant for me and someone in my family right now. Appreciate you and what you are saying. It sounds better when you say it than when I do. You are more concise than I can ever seem to put things :)
Have a great day!
Dear Dr. Vik:
In response to your question why distractions sometimes remain in our head for the rest of the day, coloring our every thought and action...In my opinion, it was an experience we did not plan nor did we possibly have the full control of the outcome. So, we re-enact in our mind the way we wanted the experience to happen and/or resolve and it gnaws at our very core being.
Hey Doc, I heard from my friend that unfortunately his application was turned down (he has been out of work for some time, and the person he spoke to mentioned that was the reason his application was bounced). What do you think he could work on to overcome that issue? He appreciates the type of culture that Zappos fosters.

Thanks for your time,

I hear a cyber job finally opened up in your shop, and my friend Aakin is applying! Here's wishing him the best of luck in landing a job at a solid business.

How have things been since the Amazon deal, any major changes in your day to day Doc?

All those pro tennis players from outside the US came from what? Poverty? No post-secondary options? Are they threatened with knives and forced to play or what? Yeah, I don't buy it. Tennis just isn't as popular here as it is in other countries - I was at a bar in Austria a couple months ago that was crowded with people watching a tennis match. I should have taken a picture...

Here's a thought: Maybe some coaches are too dismissive of their players?
