Overwhelmed?

Well, the feeling usually comes when we are not in balance.

Doing too much of one thing, or many things, and not doing enough for
ourselves to get our batteries charged - and to get "whole" is usually
the culprit.

Focusing is a great thing, in the short term, but focusing on something
too long, can make our view...get a bit fuzzy.

We just need to "air it out" and take some breaks along our journey to
properly balance out...making us much more likely to complete the
journey we've started.

Maybe our mantra should be: "I am so balanced, I should be walking on a high wire".

And in doing so - we are reminded to balance along the way.

Have you ever noticed...

That the one thing or the many things that bug us, only do so when we
are in a bad mood?

That's because, we have allowed ourselves to be in a bad mood, and what
we then see, or pick up on, is simply in alignment with our thoughts
or emotion.

What we think about and how we think, actually becomes a magnet of what
we see, as it is what we are focusing on. We are simply satisfying our reality of what is in our heads.

Thinking
poorly begets things that justify our thinking, and in thinking
positively, we see the positive around us.

So if things keep bugging us, we need to change our thinking and they
will "go away".

The chain of Command...

Usually brings about a chain of emotion.

Focusing on what an employee does wrong, instead of what they do right,
begets the employee focusing on what others are doing wrong, instead of
what they are doing right.

Empowering an employee for their talents and skills, translates to the
employee empowering others for their talents and skills.

And in each case, the chain of emotion, mirrors the chain of command.

What keeps many people...

From the future they want...is usually the past.

Thinking, dwelling or having regrets about the past, sucks the energy
and focus out of our ability to create what we want our future to be.

Driving forwards, while looking or focusing on what was behind, soon
gets you into a wreck...and the same thing can happen with our lives

We need to look forward, for when we focus on what we want in our future, that future will soon come into focus.

Battle vs War?

General Lee, in the Civil war, sure was successful in the battles he
led, but they lost the war.

The same with Hannibal in his quest to burn down Rome...he won
virtually all his battles, but never succeeded in his end result, to
destroy Rome.

Great efforts, but the end result of the battles was to succeed in the
end result, which was lost in both cases.

We need to heed the past for the success in our future, and make sure
our individual "battles" are in alignment with the end results of what
we want our future to be.

Met Erica OGrady yesterday, a wonderful person, we had lunch with the
marketing team here at Zappos and even did a radio piece for her radio
show.

Her deal is "Bliss".

We talked about how there is Happiness and Bliss all around us, yet
many of us seem to be focusing on everything else but Happiness and
Bliss.

Flying on a plane, and your internet service is interrupted...instead
of being thankful and grateful for the speedy and comfortable flight
getting you to where you want to go, fast, we get upset at the
interrupted service.

And we spoke of other scenarios with the same theme.

The bottom line is, that we all need to be more thankful and grateful
for all the wonderful things in our lives, and not focus and lament on
the "stuff".

Focusing on just...

A few things, sometimes makes the experience better.

No matter what we focus on, the focus raises all of our senses to take
it all in.

Unlike a Buffet...You're eating a crab leg, thinking about the pizza,
and you eat the pizza thinking about the roast beef, and you eat the
roast beef thinking about the waffle....there are too many choices and
they all seem to blend together,.until it all tastes the same.

It can be the same when we are doing anything, with too many choices or
options, our senses can be overwhelmed and our experience and even the
outcome can be diminished from what it could of been, if we just focused on a few things.

So, for a great experience for most of what we do, focusing on the few,
can have a sweet effect on our experience and on the results that follow.

Game of Numbers?

Yes, in life most all of our opportunities come from everywhere, and if
we entertain all of our opportunities and pick the best ones...the more
we draw from, the better our chances are to have more to choose from.
Focusing on one opportunity can be good, but it doesn't allow us Plan B
or C etc. just in case our original plan doesn't work out.
I suggest making a list of many opportunities, so you can always draw on
the ones that make most sense, and being able to change course quickly
when needed.
