Stop chasing...

And start embracing!

Got that one from my friend Snowy, National Sales Manager at Oneill!

We may all feel like we are chasing our own tail, in these times, and
we need to start embracing what is real in our lives.

Let's focus on what really matters...like our friends and family, and
be thankful for all that we have.

Tough times pass - they always do, so let the negativity be around our
lives, but not within our lives.

Met Erica OGrady yesterday, a wonderful person, we had lunch with the
marketing team here at Zappos and even did a radio piece for her radio
show.

Her deal is "Bliss".

We talked about how there is Happiness and Bliss all around us, yet
many of us seem to be focusing on everything else but Happiness and
Bliss.

Flying on a plane, and your internet service is interrupted...instead
of being thankful and grateful for the speedy and comfortable flight
getting you to where you want to go, fast, we get upset at the
interrupted service.

And we spoke of other scenarios with the same theme.

The bottom line is, that we all need to be more thankful and grateful
for all the wonderful things in our lives, and not focus and lament on
the "stuff".

Keep picking out...

Things you like about yourself, and be thankful that you have them,
because before too long, what you once liked, will be gone.

Many people try to hold onto things that go away, and become
attached to loss.

Your perfect physique and good looks? - Over time, gravity beats out
exercise, and things lose form. Maybe switch to liking wrinkles, uh -
character lines, and be excited to wear glasses and love the teeth you
still have.

Your enthusiasm and endurance? Maybe start being thankful for being
able to take your time doing things and for the patience you have
acquired along the way.

Just keep picking out new things and you won't have the time to think
about the things that have slipped away.

A recipient is a...

Person that receives something.

And we are all recipients, every day, in every way.

We receive weather, conversation, traffic, work, unpleasant people,
pleasant people, information, phone calls etc - we are recipients on a
consistent basis.

Why is it that some of the stuff we receive, can take over our
emotions, and affect our actions?

It shouldn't have to...since upon receiving, we are getting more than
we had before - we should be thankful for all that we receive, as it is
a gift...maybe a gift that we don't particularly care for, but a gift
just the same.

So it may make the best sense to perceive everything that comes to us,
as a gift, some we keep and some we pass on...but being thankful and
grateful for all that comes to us - as it was more than we had before.

We are Thankful...

For our part in paying the rent, it keeps a roof over our heads and
keeps us dry.

For our utility bills, it will help keep us warm with heating and water.

For the low gasoline prices, it let's us have more money for what we
want, instead of what we need.

For our tight clothes, it means we have enough to eat.

For our lives, for the other option is inevitable, which reminds us how
precious our future is.

For Everything...it's all part of Our Wonderful Life.

Do you have a closet full...

Of broken dreams?

Well, we all do, so don't even think you are the only one.

Not all dreams come true...we just need to be thankful for the ones
that did. And for the ones that didn't...we can always bring them out,
dust them off and give them another shot, Right?

Having every dream come true is like sitting down at a slot machine,
and with every pull of the lever, you hit the jackpot - and what are
the odds of that?

So keep dreaming and even pull out some old ones that didn't have the
right timing...it's never too late.
