Day 918

If we lack the courage to start...

We have already finished.

Thinking back, we may be able to recall what we have never started, but
wanted to, and what we never started...lies in the "bone pile".

We can always resurrect what we have wanted to do, by making a plan to
get it going.

What usually stops us from starting is our excuses and our focus on
what can go wrong or the road blocks that may get in the way.

But with a little courage, we can focus on the result and the
anticipated benefits and outcome, once we do begin.

Otherwise - if we don't start...we are already finished.

Our greatest ability we possess...

Is our ability to Choose.

Knowing it is our choice in everything we do...and the benefits or
consequences that come as a result of our choices can be the beautiful
part...or the scary part.

What if we get it wrong?

Most of us have been more wrong than right when it comes to our choices

  • and that's OK - That's Life!

We just need to let our good choices play out and the poor choices need
to be re-chosen, as soon as it makes sense.

So remember - we chose it, so enjoy it - or live with it until another
choice is made.

The chain of Command...

Usually brings about a chain of emotion.

Focusing on what an employee does wrong, instead of what they do right,
begets the employee focusing on what others are doing wrong, instead of
what they are doing right.

Empowering an employee for their talents and skills, translates to the
employee empowering others for their talents and skills.

And in each case, the chain of emotion, mirrors the chain of command.

Everybody's "Picture" is Different.

It's called Perception.

We all see different things...looking at the same thing.

There have been studies that prove this concept, by having people
describing what they saw...and the explanations and definitions, all differed.

Being aware of this, and knowing that others will, most always, have a
different point of view or perception than yours, is a great tool to be
used in understanding and tolerance.

We may think we have the correct view or perception, but that doesn't
make others wrong.
