Well, there is a style for everyone, they say. So with that, we ask, what do you think of man capris? Or as we like to call them here on the Couture team, 'man-pris'? Because yes, these are men's capris. Do you love 'em or hate 'em? We so want to know.

Men have wardrobe staples, just like women, and the classic refined jacket is one of them, dressed up enough to look nice but casual enough for a weekend. Our pick: this jacket by John Varvatos, pure perfection.

Pete Wentz, Fall Out Boy's bass player, obviously thinks appearance is important. In addition to opening a hair salon in Chicago, he's got a clothing line, Clandestine, out at local Nordstroms. From the photo above, it looks like he may have taken note of fiancee Ashlee Simpson's style - the model is literally rocking out while rocking an alternative tank top and skinny black jeans.

May 10, 2008 by Stephanie S.

Giorgio Armani isn’t quite on the reality show bandwagon, but this contest could easily be the next Project Runway (if only it were a broadcasted contest!). He’s on the lookout for an advertising genius to create and execute a television ad for his Emporio Fragrances line. This year is Emporio Fragrances’ 10th anniversary. Armani is inviting entries from young talents in the UK, France, Italy, Germany and the US. Ten finalists will be chosen by Mr Armani himself, who will choose the ultimate winner.

Check out all the admissions and vote for your favorite at emporioarmaniparfums.com/contest.

NO SIGN OF COLD FEET

Tomorrow, one of the president's daughters will be married. We've already speculated about her wedding day look, but what about the groom? Henry Hager might sport a nice pair of cufflinks, or a casual pair, just for fun. It is an outdoor wedding, so he could be sporting casual attire, maybe nice slacks, a nice button-up shirt sans tie and flip flops - though I have a feeling that flip flops are too casual for the wedding of the First Daughter. He'll probably be wearing chic summery yet wedding-appropriate shoes like these or these instead.

FASHION BLOG - SLIM JIMS:

Jeans with special construction and shading with front pockets that act like a girdle are a girl’s dream come true. Well, wake up ladies, it's a reality. Well, according to the website skinnyjeans.com, Oprah and Rachel Ray. I have noticed Rachel has been looking slimmer on camera in jeans, but just assumed it was diet and exercise, yeah right. Purportedly they slim your thighs, flatten your stomach, shape your butt, make your legs look longer and, oh yeah, come in many rinses. They can be found at skinnyjeans.com. The technique stems from classic denim but with a high nylon/elastane content. This gives them a ‘beefy’ strength to hold you in (no wimpy, gummy stretch here) and creates ‘memory’—the jeans never stretch out, bag out or lose their shape. (You will not have to wash them every time you wear them), said Catherine Hart, the company founder, via her website information. Don’t take my word for it, go to the website, read the testimonials, send your questions of disblief to hello@skinnyjeans.com or orders@skinnyjeans. Of course, there is that old fashion way of calling: 212/755-5577 or 866/946-8348.

Obviously, muffin-top stops here!

Don’t weave in and out of the woven shoes trend. They’re most flattering in wedge form and extremely summery. Pair these with a floaty white skirt and a cute tank top or khaki shorts and a V-neck sweater for a night out.

Couture’s incessant product obsession has taken us over again. This time around, it is the mega heeled runway shoes from DSquared2. Who can resist the allure of being tall, striking and wearing the hottest shoes? Obviously we can’t and we hear neither can Ms. Rihanna who wore them down the Spring/Summer 2008 runway. Now if we can only figure out how to get the fabulous car filled with all of those fabulous boys in it.

CHARM IS IN THE AIR - PARIS HILTON LIGHTS UP TONIGHT'S LETTERMAN

Paris Hilton is everywhere. Justifiable since she makes movies, music, has a clothing line, a shoe line and several perfumes to name just a few business ventures. Tonight she will be a guest on David Letterman, and although we are not sure which venture she will be promoting, we are betting it is about her newest venture – her new reality show, Who Wants to be Paris Hilton's New Best Friend? It seems since Nicole Richie is busy with her new baby Harlow, she just doesn't have the time to hang out with Ms. Hilton when Benji Madden isn't available.

I’d like to think, with her latest perfumes and hair extensions, the next natural step would be a line of lingerie, but I guess it’s hard to design something you reportedly never wear.

HOW TO WEAR IT - WOMEN

Layering is the key in transitioning temperatures, but how to pull it off? Take a basic piece, like this Moschino blazer, to work around. By wearing a Moschino shell covered with a Moschino black sweater underneath, the look is streamlined and not bulky. Wear with skinny dark jeans, and you’ve done your layering right.

The What: 1.Moschino blazer

The How To: 2. Moschino black sweater 3. Just Cavalli jeans 4. Moschino ruffled shell

The When: On a breezy day, when it’s cool one minute, warm the next

The Why: Layering helps you look cool or hot no matter what the temperature.

Not quite a tank top, almost a T-shirt, cap sleeved shirts are a cute staple for summer. This one by MICHAEL Michael Kors in bright pink goes great with a khaki skirt and heels or jeans and flip flops.

Yes she aufs people from her runaway hit Project Runway, models for Victoria's Secret, sings, designs jewelry, and oh yeah, is a mom and married to singer Seal. If that were not enough, now she is designing a full brand of clothing for Jordache Jeans, which she currently models for. There will be countless stlyles of jeans (naturally), tops, coats, etc.... All a fab lady needs for the day or to go out for the evening.

The line is carried by Bloomingdale’s NYC, 1000 Third Avenue, (212/705-2000) or through Bloomingdales.com.

DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT - DSQUARED2

The brothers Caten of the DSQUARED2 label mix superb craftsmanship, cool practicality and a little theatre (a holdover from their party host days, no doubt) to create one of the most sought after labels of today. The fashion cognoscenti were particularly abuzz about the Men’s Fall 2008 collection. It was all about the tailoring, the ski motif, the camouflage bomber jackets, tartan plaid and the mix of usual suspects — a little swagger and joie de vivre.

How happy are we here at Couture that we carry the line of shoes? Estastic, actually. Our picks for men are: a great, versatile summer sandal; a wonderful monotonal everyday shoe; and a shoe for an evening at La Bernadine or the opera. For women, we were torn, so much to choose from, so few words to write it in: good enough for Rihanna on the runway, good enough for us; this artfully, height challenging sandal is worth the climb; and who doesn’t need a sensible, sexy hot shoe?

The ‘70s seem to be making a comeback – first polyester, now platforms. But platforms work for the summer as long as you don’t pair them with bell-bottoms and peace sign necklaces. This season’s platforms come in several styles, from gladiator-inspired to extremely sexy.
