Boat shoes, or topsiders, as they are sometimes known, are no longer relegated to the Darien or Harbor Island set, they have come a long, posh way, baby. With new incarnations in washed leather, suede, crock, mock crock, python, anaconda and the like, what’s not to love about these modern renditions? Try NDC's Timoc Castoro Wash version.

With a jumper, the key is to wear it with the right shirt underneath. V-necks don’t work, but scoopnecked long-sleeved shirts or collared short-sleeved shirts, like this Moschino one, work great.

The What: Moschino's Ornate Origami Jumper

The How To: 1. Moschino collared shirt 2. Derek Lam sunglasses 3. D&G bangles 4. Marc by Marc Jacobs Turnlock Pouchette 5. Yellow Sigerson Morrison flats

The When: For work or play.

The Why: Jumpers can look mature!

Contrary to popular belief, smoky is not a color, it’s a technique. Smoky eyes this season are done with purple and brown eyeshadow for day – it’s less intense than charcoal. Try using a cream shadow, like Besame cream shadow in Sumatra, under a lighter powder shadow, like Besame __ eye trio, blending around the eyes. Both shadows in different consistencies give your smoky look more staying power.
