... in the form of chic little cashmere doggie sweaters, coordinated leashes and collars. Designer Phillip Lim, of 3.1 Phillip Lim, designed the line of delightful sweaters and accessories using his French bulldog Oliver as his muse. Now, to me, clothing for dogs has always been a conundrum. They always seem too fussy, or worse still, too frou frou from the start. Come on, it's not like your pet begs you for a new outfit to one-up his doggie counterparts at the dog run. However, although I hate to admit it, Lim's doggie designs just may have changed my mind. These mini cashmere sweaters come in an assortment of colors - heather gray, a red/navy rugby stripe, and a soft pink - but are priced at $150 each (um, can you say expensive?). If you want to give your pet the ultimate chi chi gift, go for the $375 gift set, which includes a red sweater, a red collar and red leash. Thankfully though, Lim showed restraint and designed fashionably subtle looks that any four-leg cutie would be proud to be seen in. Better still, he did not debut the line along side his Spring/Summer 2009 line, with furry friends scurrying down the runway in uncomfortable outfits under glaring lights and non-stop light bulb flashes. Woof!
