Ankle boots are hot for both sexes, women and men! Women can rock a pair of booties with leggings and a miniskirt or with skinny jeans tucked in, while men should wear theirs with bootcut jeans to show off their curved toe.

The Couture team is loving every moment of the fall season, what with all of the fashion offerings, how could we not. At this very moment, we are head-over-heels for booties. There's something about this almost-shoe that's just too cute, but not saccharine sweet, when paired with a skirt, but can also render that Avengers' Emma Peele cool yet tough persona with elements like washed metallics, studs, stitching detail or buckles. Our picks: L.A.M.B Camden bootie, Alexander McQueen black booties, Givenchy brown suede booties and Jean Paul Gaultier metallic booties.

'Tis the season... Fall has officially begun and there a few must haves for the season. The color purple is a big hit and looks great on almost every skin tone. Stacked heeled boots that slouch are another sure fire hit that can be paired with jeans tucked in and a funky tee. Espresso was percolating all over the Fall 2008 runways, so do add a dash to your accessory rotation. From the East Coast to the West Coast, sky-high high heel platforms are all the rage, do mix with colored tights and sheath dresses. Every Couturnista needs a dollop of effortless chic thrown in, what better way to do that than with a kid-skin slouch handbag. Who said the oxford could not be a sexy shoe? Clearly, they had not anticipated the stiletto heeled versions for Fall. Look for a smooth, supple leather or a patent leather version to add just enough sex appeal to any look. Cat calls are optional.

The Couture team is feeling the rebel yell of the changing season, torn between our ladylike underpinnings and our rebellious spirit. What better way to express it than merging the sweet with a little spice? Absolutely none! We are craving black leggings tucked into our navy buckle detail male-inspired punk-esque boots, a little pirate swagger with a dash of skulls and skeletons scarf, ladylike indifference with a leather fringed handbag, channeling a little Belgian punk spirit with lace up booties, and cuffed perfection with a crown insigna silver cuff.

Our pics: Paul Smith Navy Back Zipper Boots with Buckle Detail, Roberto Cavalli Black Patent Leather Lace up Ankle Boots, Alexander McQueen Black/White Tree of Life scarf , Jill Stuart Onyx Leather and Metal Fringe St. Germain Felicity Satchel, and King Baby Studio Crowned Heart Cross Cuff.

DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT - KENNETH COLE

Designers who wanted to preview their collections at Market Week in New York about 20 years ago, like Kenneth Cole, could either get a room at the Hilton or get a fancy showroom to show them off. Both options were too expensive for Kenneth Cole. But Cole, being the creative genius that he is, figured out a way around this.

He didn’t have much money, so he decided to sell his shoes out of a truck in Midtown Manhattan, but only production companies shooting films could get permission to park trucks in the city. Cole changed his company letterhead from Kenneth Cole Inc. to Kenneth Cole Productions, Inc., applied for a permit to shoot a made-up film called “The Birth of Shoes,” and got it. In two-and-a-half days, Cole sold 40 thousand pairs of shoes, and his business took off.

Took off indeed – Zappos.com is only one of many retailers that sells Kenneth Cole New York’s classic shoes, clothes and bags. Our favorites include the head-turning Flap Down Medium Flap bag, the stunning, strappy Martini sandals and the Finest Hour loafers for men. Being in business this long, of course Kenneth Cole doesn’t make fashion mistakes.

UGG'S OUTWEAR EXPANSION

May 21, 2008 by Stephanie R.

The Los Angeles-based designer Rozae Nichols — known for her fabrics, layering and visual design language derived from her time working in Hong Kong and Paris — is heading to the Ugg Australia Company to design a small capsule collection of outwear. The design match is perfect, as she showed a deft, advant gard hand with shearling in her own Fall 2008 collection. The Ugg collection will consist of 14 pieces ranging in price from approximately $595 for a suede pullover to $2,300 for a full-length shearling coat. The collection has been described as a utilitarian chic point of view, keeping the authentic feel of the brand but bringing a true fashion prospective to a traditional shoe company. There is talk of the brand expanding to accessories. We can only hope, no?

But until then you can check our Zappos.com's large selection of all this Uggs and shop to you drop.
