Nicole Kidman, sorry, Chanel’s decided to use a genuine Frenchwoman as the face of Chanel No. 5 fragrance. Audrey Tatou will star in Chanel ads in 2009 and, like Kidman, Tatou will get to use her cinematic talents for the ads. Kidman’s Moulin Rouge director Baz Luhrman directed her in a Chanel commercial, and director Jean-Pierre Jeunet, who directed Tatou in Amelie and The Long Engagement, will direct Tatou’s short Chanel-centric film. We at Couture can’t wait to see how her short film, with a touch of Parisian flair, will turn out.
