FASHION TIDBIT: TRANNY HOT MESS

Christian Siriano won PRW and his growing star power due to his flamboyant personality seems to know no bounds and definitely resonates with the masses. One needs only to check the former SNL video from an earlier blog here (that’s right folks we were ahead of the curve on that) to see the following he has.

As Christian and the House of Siriano made their entrance into the ficticious Mode magazine from Ugly Betty, Editor-in-Chief Daniel greeted the great one with “how happy they were to have him and how fierce it is to have him there.” Faux pas, yes! As the rest of Mode staff hung their heads and hid their eyes in shame, Daniel clueless as always was schooled by Christian that no one says that to him, because it is so over!” In reality that saying was over for over five years until Mr. Tranny Hot Mess, deliverer of the word "fierce" himself, resurrected it. Obviously you can school oblivious dogs (in Daniel’s case, that is) in new tricks.

PROJECT RUNWAY TO LIFETIME? ISN'T THAT FOR BAD MOVIES AND THE GOLDEN GIRLS?

Lifetime released a statement that says Project Runway will be moving from Bravo to Lifetime. Yes, the same channel that airs made-for-TV-movies and episodes of Reba and Will and Grace like it’s their job. Well…I guess it is their job.

We at Couture are a bit confused because 1) Bravo has the rights to air season five of Project Runway, which is the next season, so...will we get two seasons of PR back to back? 2) There’s no mention of Michael Kors or Nina Garcia moving to Lifetime in the press release, unless they’re included in the Magical Elves and 3) who the heck are the Magical Elves exactly?

Hardware stores are not the most exciting of stores – unless you really love browsing amongst nails, bug sprays and copies of keys. But hardware on handbags and shoes is much more exciting and way cute. This Betsey Johnson bag is a perfect example, and its silver color pairs with almost anything.

THE WEEKLY BABBLE - SNL TAKES ON CHRISTIAN

All publicity is good publicity, yes? Well, yes and no, but in Christian Siriano's case, yes. The Project Runway reality show winner, known for his constant usage of the word 'fierce,' has become a target of Saturday Night Live's genius skit team. The hilarious skit shows a female dressed up and being so spot-on Christian, right down to his hair, flipping around and spouting all of the Christian-ism we've come to love. But being made fun of on SNL isn’t all bad though, it means you have arrived. Either that or you said the same three phrases too many times throughout your stay on a reality television show. Check out the SNL clip and see for yourself. Let me know what you think of it. Personally, I love it!

THE WEEKLY BABBLE - PROJECT RUNWAY FINALE

If you have yet to watch Project Runway's finale, STOP READING NOW.

If you did watch last night's final episode, even if you weren't necessarily rooting for who ended up winning, you have to admit that it was a great show. The choice was tough - Rami, Jillian and Christian all put forth beautiful collections. I wouldn't want to be a judge – talk about a tough decision!

But among the three, one pulled through – Christian! Some of you love him, some of you hate him, some of you find him annoying (mainly because of how often he used the word 'fierce'), but you have to admit it...his win was well-deserved. His collection was definitely fierce.

Were Rami and Jillian robbed? Was Christian's win predictable? There are probably lots of different opinions out there about this outcome, and I want to hear them!

YOU'RE EITHER IN OR YOU'RE OUT...OF THE AUCTION

Love the outfits the models have been strutting down Project Runway's runway? You can get your hands on Christian’s haute couture-to-real-world creation or Jillian’s art-inspired outfit from the final challenge if you absolutely must have them. ProjectRunway.com has an auction of the final threes’ original designs from now until March 12. But there's a bit more time to get your hands on Christian's collection, which will be open for auction until March 19.

If you can’t justify buying the prom dress Christian created, a portion of proceeds from the final collections’ pieces sold will benefit the HOPE Program, a career development program helping homeless and welfare-dependent adults. So go on – indulge your sweet tooth and buy Rami’s winning peppermint patty dress or Jillian’s Wonder Woman-esque wrestling outfit – and then tell me, really, where you can wear both those outfits where people won’t stare in a bad way? I'm quite curious.

THE WEEKLY BABBLE - PROJECT RUNWAY

If Bring It On was a movie about fashion designers, last night’s Project Runway would have been the final cheerleading competition. Chris and Rami both brought it – their three best looks from a collection that could potentially be shown at Bryant Park, that is.

So who’s moving on to Bryant Park? Rami’s looks proved stronger. The blue, high-collared, belted coat over a strapless little black dress, the intricately knotted strapless gray dress, and the long, elegant, black, ruffled evening gown (no drapey dresses! Shocker!) were more wearable than Chris’ collection. Chris’ looks were just a bit too heavy – the black safety pin skirt and furry belted blazer, the furry black knee-length skirt paired with a sleeveless black lace over gold tank top, and the long, velvet evening gown with fur stole. Unfortunately, costume-ish is just who Chris is.

Well, now that that’s settled, we’re even closer to being Project Runway-less. I’m getting teary-eyed envisioning who might get teary-eyed on the runway as it’s announced they’re the winner. Jillian, Christian and Rami - who do you think it will be?
