Sad news for Cashmere Mafia fans…the show has been cancelled. It showed a strong following at first, with 10.7 million viewers watching its pilot episode, but it dwindled down to 4.7 million viewers for its finale. Lipstick Jungle had more consistent ratings through its season, and 6.7 million viewers tuned in to its finale.

So, why did Lipstick Jungle survive? Personally, I think it had a better script, letting the drama build through the season instead of hitting viewers with it in the first two episodes a la Cashmere. But, the fashion was better on Cashmere, even when they put a belt or two on every character. Maybe it was cancelled due to belt overload – I know I found it annoying.

Well sort of, we are talking about trigger-temper catwalk queen Naomi Campbell here. Today is her birthday and as luck would have it, it coincides with her appearance on tonight’s season finale of Ugly Betty. Playing her super model self, she takes up a bat as a member of a softball team opposite the fictional Mode magazine’s team. The softball outfit that she wears in the show will be autographed and auctioned off online on Elle.com to benefit Clothes Off Our Backs organization, an organization that raises funds for children’s charities. You can go to Elle.com to make your bid. The bidding started on May 16th and ends on May 26 at 9:00 a.m. EST. Play ball!

Well, not exactly. But be honest, we got you. You were surprised, thinking
here we go again with yet another Britney story, right? But Britney has done a
great job lately of staying out of trouble.

Britney Spears reprised her role as Abby, the receptionist with a raging
crush on Ted, on last night's How I Met Your Mother. After a chance run-in
with Barney (if him jumping on top of her cab is what you call chance),
since both of them hate Ted, they came up with a plan to pretend they're
dating to make Ted jealous. Britney wore bright colored baby doll dresses,
but there was a scene where she and Neil Patrick Harris wore matching blue
sweaters and khaki pants. It even ended in a fake proposal, which ­ unfortunately,
Abby took seriously. But with Barney’s charm ­ and a little sneakiness
that’s surely to turn into yet another guest appearance for Britney Spears.

Ah, just seeing the initials SATC (Sex and the City), makes me yearn for a fruity martini and pine for the asphalt jungle that was the backdrop for the former HBO show and the upcoming movie. I admit, as much as I have tried, I have not been able to resist all of the pictures and trailers circulating on the internet that quietly beckon my attention. How can one not be anxious and thrilled that on May 30th, the girls — Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis — will be back in fabulous fashionable force? Who doesn’t want to know what hijinks Samantha is up to or if Smith J. is back? Does Brady have a sibling yet? Is little Elizabeth Taylor et all still part of the story line? Will Big finally marry Carrie and what will the other starring characters — the wardrobe — be like? Considering the cult following the show had, and by all the blog accounts, the movie will be an instant hit. We will have to wait to see, but in the meantime, cosmopolitan anyone?
