Mar 31, 2009 by E.A. Anne

This week we'll take a quick jump from the beautiful beaches of Goa to the even whiter sands of Kovalam, Kerala. Kerala is located at the tip of southern India, and Kovalam is situated right on the coast. When visiting Kovalam, you should stay right on the beach to take advantage of the wonderful sand and beautiful sunsets. Kovalam is also near Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary, which is a must see sanctuary for all animal lovers. When visiting the Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary, you'll get the chance to glimpse vast numbers of elephant, gaur, sloth bear, jungle cat, wild boar and langur.

While the Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary and the beaches of Kovalam are a draw, The Leela Kempinski Hotel is a destination in itself. The Leela is one of the most sought after, highly anticipated hotels in all of India. All of The Leela's rooms have vast windows with gorgeous views of the Arabian Sea beyond. You'll have the choice between many different rooms of different sizes and grandeur. The interiors of most of the rooms and suites are decorated with a delightful blend between traditional Kerala and modern style.

The amenities of The Leela Kempinski Hotel are out of this world, beginning with exclusive beach access. You'll have a range of spa treatments at your fingertips at The Leela, including traditional Ayurvedic treatments. You also will have the chance to attend traditional yoga classes, play badminton, tennis and beach volleyball. With private beach access, you'll be able to swim and sunbathe at your leisure. Make sure to bring sunscreen to protect your skin while you relax on the sandy beaches of Kovalam.

With seven different restaurants and cafes at The Leela, you'll get the chance to taste new and delicious foods every night. The Sky Bar is ideal for after-dinner drinks as the sun sets beyond the sea. The Terrace serves Oriental, Indian and Continental cuisine, and you can dine right by the sea if you wish.

Celebrity Style: The Skinny on Jeans

Mar 31, 2009 by Tiffany B

It appears that celebrities are still keeping the skinny jeans around. This is no passing fashion trend. Stars are still rocking out in their skinny jeans. I guess when you are a size 0, you can keep this fashion trend going and not worry about how you look. The newest trend with the skinny jeans are gray colored skinny jeans. So many celebrities have been now spotted wearing gray skinny jeans, usually with a white top. Jessica Alba was just photographed the other day in her gray skinny jeans paired with a white tee and yellow flats. The other color for skinny jeans that looks to be in fashion with celebrities is white. Now, white skinny jeans may be one of the hardest looks to pull off, but celebrities seem to be doing it just fine. The key is to find balance on the top. Get a pair of white skinny jeans, like these from Just Cavalli and pair them with a blousy top. Don't go with the tight top if you are going with the tight jeans. Instead, think about a flowy top paired with high heels. This is an easier look to pull of for the average girl.

Another trend in the jean department are the ripped and shredded jeans. Yes, these are back in style, especially with casually dressed celebrities. Katie Holmes, Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie, Megan Fox, and Lindsay Lohan have all been spotted wearing ripped and shredded jeans within the past couple of weeks. Now, these ripped jeans can also be skinny jeans. They can be boot cut jeans or even flare legged jeans. The key to this fashion trend is basically that they look, ripped, worn, or shredded on the legs. And yes, if you have looked online for jeans or at any store, they make them this way and you don't have to do it yourself. This is definitely a casual look and is not made for going nicer places such as on dates or nights out on the town. Leave this look for casual shopping trips and runs to Starbucks.

Celebrity Gossip: Lindsay Lohan Clears Up Warrant

Mar 30, 2009 by Tiffany B

It seems like the Los Angeles court system needs to get their act straightened out. Friday, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Lindsay Lohan stating that she was in violation of her probation. But by Monday, the court had recalled the warrant for Lohan. A quick hearing by Lohan's lawyer showed the courts that it was all a mistake and that Lindsay has been in compliance with her probation with the court. The reports stated that Lindsay had missed three alcohol education classes that she is required to attend. Apparently, the paparazzi was to blame for one of the missed classes and she was excused from the other two. The judge told Lindsay's lawyer to enroll her in a new alcohol and drug program so that they can avoid this in the future.

In Touch is reporting that The City's Whitney Port and Jay Lyon are broken up. A friend of Whitney's reveals that the couple just broke up this past week and that Whitney did it over the phone. This friend says that, "she was basically just not happy for a while and decided she really wanted to end it. Jay said they should talk things over, but it seems her mind is made up." The couple had previously decided to take a break and then later got back together but according to this source are completely done now.

Newlyweds Tom Brady and Giselle Bundchen headed back to Giselle's native country of Brazil this past weekend. The couple celebrated Giselle's grandpa's 83rd birthday and visited with her family members. Giselle has also said that she is ready to have a family of her own (Brady has a son already with his ex, *Bridget Moynahan*). She says that she "wants a big family" and to have what her parents have, as they have been married 36 years.

Celebrity Gossip: Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer Break-up

Mar 27, 2009 by Tiffany B.

I guess Jennifer Love Hewitt has gotten over her ex-fiancé pretty quickly. Jamie Kennedy, Hewitt's costar on the Ghost Whisperer, told Ryan Seacrest that yes and he and Jennifer are dating. The two had been spotted together out in public several times, including celebrating Hewitt's birthday together. He told Seacrest on his radio show that "We're more than dating ... we're more than in love." He went on to add, "I'm in love, and I don't care!" Kennedy says that the relationship came out of nowhere and that Jennifer is an amazing person. Jennifer Love Hewitt had recently just split with her fiancé Ross McCall earlier this year after planning their entire wedding.

A couple who is reportedly not dating is Britney Spears and her longtime agent Jason Trawick. A source tells US magazine that "They are absolutely, 100 percent not dating. He is her agent, and that is it." E! News had reported that the two were secretly going out on dates together, but according to the close source to Britney that is completely false. There is nothing more than a professional relationship between them.

People is reporting that John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston has broken off their relationship once again. The couple just recently attended the Oscars together and looked like the perfect couple, but apparently after Jennifer went off to Europe to promote Marley and Me, their relationship changed. When Aniston returned from Europe, the couple agreed not to see each other anymore. According to a source, the couple, "had some disagreements and decided to not continue to see each other. Jen is moving on with her life like she always does. She seems happy." Another source claims that Mayer broke up with Aniston when she got back. The rep for both Mayer and Aniston had no comment.

What Not to Wear: Dressing for Easter Sunday

Mar 27, 2009 by Stephanie Modkins

Have you picked out your Easter bonnet yet? Okay. Quit laughing. I know you're too old to wear one of those. Yet, you probably already are starting to fret over what you'll wear on Easter Sunday. Don't worry. Your feelings are natural. Easter elicits one of the biggest turnouts at church, almost like a fashion show.

To say that people try to dress their best on Easter Sunday is an understatement. Most people will pull out their best duds whether it's a pair of Levis or a three-piece suit. Sometimes it's a hit. Other times it's a miss. So what are the rules? What shouldn't you wear on Easter Sunday?

The rules for Easter Sunday are simple. You should dress in clothing that suits your pocket book, crowd and you. Here's what I mean. Don't wear:

  • Expensive clothing you'll be paying off for the next two years. Remember, your reason for attending an Easter Sunday service is spiritual - not fleshly. So you don't have to treat it like a fashion show.

  • Don't over dress for your crowd. If you attend a church where people dress casually, you'll stand out like a beacon in a couture dress and big hat. Keep it simple and focus more on attending service with a clean heart.

  • Select Easter colors that flatter you. Let's face it. Everyone doesn't look good in pink or pastels. So, there's nothing wrong with wearing navy blue if it makes you look good. Also, if you're not used to wearing dresses, don't do it on Easter. Go for a pants suit or even a skirt. It'll help you be more comfortable and attentive during service.

These three tidbits are what you need to know about dressing for success on Easter Sunday. Just remember the day really isn't about clothes.

Staying Fashionable in a Recession: Befriend Your Tailor and Shoe Repairman

Mar 26, 2009 by Lindsay W.

If you're anything like me, you've undoubtedly had this very trying experience: you buy a new pair of shoes, wear them once and come home to discover that you've scuffed the toe, broken the heel or done some other damage that either makes the shoe un-wearable or unsightly. Same goes for clothing - a glass of red wine spilled on a white sweater, mud on the cuffs of your slacks, a small tear in your overcoat. These little mishaps can cost you a fortune, and they always seem to happen to the clothing items you love the most.

In these cases, knowing a reliable and reasonably priced tailor and shoe repairman is invaluable. Yes, I realize it's easier just to shove those broken heeled shoes to the back of the closet, but in these tough economic times, the last thing we need is a stockpile of useless shoes and nothing to wear! Fortunately, shoe repairs (along with jewelry repairs and most minor alterations) are relatively inexpensive. Of course, it doesn't make much sense to spend $20 resoling shoes that you bought at a discount store for $10, but if you have made investments in more expensive pieces, like classic leather boots, it is well worth the money to repair them and wear them year after year.

If you have any skill with a needle and thread, you can mend small holes and tears in your clothes yourself easily, but a good tailor can do much, much more. He or she can take in your best wardrobe pieces in case you lose a few pounds and repair broken zippers or hem pants, usually for much less than the cost of replacing the item.

Another money saving tip that may seem counter-intuitive is to avoid the dry-cleaner. Why? Dry cleaning is expensive, and the chemicals they use are extremely hard on your clothes. Most fabrics can be washed by hand in cold water, and things like suits can simply be aired out between wearings with only an occasional cleaning. Your clothes will last longer and, as long as you're careful with washing, they'll still look great!

Importance of Clothing in Film: Breakfast at Tiffanys

Mar 25, 2009 by Racheline M.

Breakfast at Tiffany's is, of course, one of the most iconic films for fashion of all time. It brought us the little black dress and the conviction that anyone can pursue their dream of being a New York socialite no matter how unlikely and have an oddly great time in the process.

The story of the film's costumes, however, is one of legendary Hollywood revenge. Just like in Hepburn's earlier film Sabrina, Givenchy had been hired to design her gowns. After all, Hepburn was a former model of his, and he loved the idea of a rising star showing off his clothes. Givenchy became, of course, the creator of the little black dress for which Breakfast at Tiffany's is so famous.

Sabrina, however, had led to cruel results for Givenchy, when Edith Head, the costume designer who hadn't designed all of the costumes (or any of the real standout show pieces used in the Paris sequences) won an Oscar for Givenchy's work and never acknowledged his part in the film's look. The studio even helped her cover it up! So when it was time for Head and Givenchy to work on the same project again, Givenchy made a point to protect his interests. Head's credit line on the film wound up being merely "wardrobe supervisor," which was a huge demotion for her.

Don't feel too bad for Head though, not only did she win more Oscars than any other woman and garner an amazing thirty-four nominations in her career, she got her first costume design job in film using sketches she'd borrowed from someone else!

Luckily we can all borrow the idea of the little black dress from this classic film, and there's truly no better time than now, with the current resurgence of interest in late-50s and early 60s vintage looks thanks to the current crop of Hollywood period pieces, which should ensure that sophisticated simplicity is a major fashion statement for some time to come.

Celebrity Gossip: More Breakups in the News

Mar 25, 2009 by Tiffany B.

As actress Anne Heche prepares for her arrival of her baby with boyfriend and former co-star, James Tupper, her divorce from her ex-husband Coley Laffoon has been finalized. An agreement on spousal support is what held up the divorce finalization. It has been agreed that Heche will pay Laffoon a lump sum of $515,000. She will also pay him $3,700 a month for child support for their son Homer, 6. Heche and Laffoon wed back in 2001 and filed for divorce in February 2007. She couldn't even wait until her divorce was finalized before getting pregnant with another man's baby?

It looks like Mischa Barton will be joining the dating scene again. Mischa blogged that she broke up with her musician boyfriend Luke Pritchard. She wrote on the blog, "I'm sure you guys are all going to hear about it soon enough, so I just wanted to tell you what is real first -- I broke up with Luke when I got to London." She went on, writing, "There was no cheating or anything terrible, the bad just started to outweigh the good, and a long-distance relationship is never an easy thing to do." The couple had been dating for a little over a year.

Ashlee Simpson has confirmed that she will be joining the cast of the new Melrose Place. Simpson tells US Magazine, "I look forward to being a part of its new generation of residents." It has been reported that Ashlee will play a lead character on the show named Violet, who is a small-town girl who moves to the big city of L.A. with a secret. Simpson just recently had a guest appearance on CSI: New York with her husband Pete Wentz. She also had a reoccurring role on the drama 7th Heaven for two years when she was a teenager. They must be running out of original ideas for television shows as they keep resurrecting old ones and attempting to make them new.

Celebrity Style: Flowers in Fashion for Spring

Mar 24, 2009 by Tiffany B

Celebrities are seeing flowers, flowers and more flowers. It appears that flowers are still a major celebrity fashion trend for the spring season. As we go into the spring, we are seeing more and more celebrities wearing floral prints on dresses, blouses and even coats.

Celebrities seem to be experimenting with floral clothing. Women are popping up all over the red carpet wearing floral prints and patterns, be it small or big. Eva Mendes was a big hit in her 50's inspired black dress that had colorful flowers all over the bottom of it. The black dress had large yellow, red and white flowers on the skirt if it, giving the dress a pop of color and also some personality.

On the other hand, Jennifer Aniston chose to keep her floral print small and all-over. Aniston was seen wearing a grayish-blue floral print dress to the premiere of her movie "Marley and Me" in Paris. Even Aniston, who has seemed to be pretty colorless in all black lately, ditched the black and decided to sport the latest trend of color and floral. She kept the smaller floral print modern by the shape and fit of her dress.

Some other celebrities that have been seen following this fashion trend: Millia Jovovich who wore a floral patterned blouse to a Hollywood event. Drew Barrymore wore a floral print shift dress to an event. Scarlett Johansson opted to wear a long dress that had a large floral print pattern on it to her movie premiere.

Floral prints are definitely here to stay for awhile. They can be young and flirty if they are done right. If you are looking to follow this celebrity fashion trend, be sure to pick modern floral prints, like this one by Robert Rodriguez, to avoid looking like you raided your grandmother's closet. Keep the look modern with a girly twist and you can rock the flowers like celebrities do.

Celebrity Gossip: Dancing with the Stars Injuries

Mar 23, 2009 by Tiffany B.

The new season of Dancing With the Stars has not even started yet and already two contestants are off the show. Singer Jewel and entertainment anchor Nancy O'Dell have both withdrawn from the show. Both of them are suffering from serious injuries that prevent them from being able to dance anymore for the show. Jewel was diagnosed with a fractured tibia in both legs, while Nancy O'Dell has a torn meniscus. It has been rumored that Girls Next Door reality star Holly Madison will be taking one of the spots on Dancing With the Stars. Actually, Holly's friend and former roommate, Bridget Marquardt, let it slip that Holly will be doing the show. Marquardt told Fox News during an interview, "I'm so excited for her. She's wanted to do it for so long. It just never worked with her schedule and Hef was always like 'I don't want you to do that,' and now it's her time, so I'm really happy for her." ABC will officially announce the lineup replacements on the premier show of Dancing With the Stars.

Singer Amy Winehouse has officially been charged with assault. The charge stems from last fall when she allegedly hit a fan at a charity ball. According to Amy's spokesperson, "Amy voluntarily attended a police station in London," upon which she was formally arrested and charged. "She was questioned by appointment in relation to an accusation made after the Berkeley ball last year." A dancer is alleging that Winehouse hit her in the eye after asking the singer to take her picture at the ball. Amy is due back in court on March 17.

Supermodel Nikki Taylor and her husband welcomed a little girl last week. Ciel Taylor Lamar was born on March 4. Nikki already has twin teenage boys from her previous marriage. This is the first child that Nikki and her husband, NASCAR driver Burney Lamar, have together.

Staying Fashionable in a Recession: Identify and Streamline YOUR Look

Mar 20, 2009 by Lindsay W.

Dropping hundreds or thousands of dollars on the season's hottest fashions is normal for many fashionistas, but in the current financial environment, it may not be the most fiscally responsible choice. However, there is a bright side to the bleak financial picture. Now is the perfect time to focus and streamline your wardrobe to create a unique look that is completely your own.

Let's be honest; how many of you have bought clothing in the past simply because it was the hottest trend, not because it was really your style or looked great on you? Probably all of us have done that at one time or another - but now, when we need to watch our pennies, we can't make such poor fashion decisions. Now is the time to carefully assess each item we buy and ask, "Do I need it? Will I wear it (more than once)? Do I LOVE it? Is it ME?"

As you ask yourself these questions, keep your current wardrobe in mind. What are your favorite colors, clothing styles and accessories in your closet? Do your wardrobe pieces add up to a coherent "look" or are they hopelessly eclectic? If you can figure out the way you want to look and the image you want to project, it will be much easier for you to figure out what your wardrobe basics should be and build from there.

Once you've discovered your own style, there will be no need for you to spend thousands on new trendy clothing for each season. As new styles come along, decide if they fit into your overall style and lifestyle, and if not, pass them by. For instance, an outdoorsy girl who prefers to dress casually probably doesn't NEED red patent leather boots, fabulous though they may seem. A better choice for her would be a pair of hiking boots in a fun, flirty color - that way she can show her trendy side in a way that complements her lifestyle and existing wardrobe. Ladies who prefer pants to skirts can simply ignore the upward or downward trend of skirt and dress hemlines and stick to trousers entirely.

The same principle applies to color. If this season's hottest color is yellow, but you hate yellow, look terrible in yellow or have nothing in your existing wardrobe that goes with yellow - skip it! If it's not YOU, there's no point in wasting money on it. If you're dying to try the trendy color, choose an inexpensive, utilitarian item like a handbag or belt - that way you haven't spent a ton of money, and you can always trade with a friend who really does love yellow!

In short, building a wardrobe of clothing that looks good on you, fits your lifestyle and reflects the image you want to project will always make you look a hundred times more fashionable than simply wearing the latest trends. Never buy anything you don't love - your look AND your wallet will thank you for it!

Celebrity Gossip: Rihanna and Chris Brown still Together

Mar 20, 2009 by Tiffany B.

Singer Rihanna has apparently rekindled her romance with her beau Chris Brown. The two were spotted vacationing in Miami together, staying in Diddy's vacation home. They spent the weekend there and both have returned to Los Angeles. It has been reported that the couple got back together after an altercation they had that left Rihanna with scrapes and bruises. Rihanna was not spotted outside the Miami home, but Brown was seen water skiing close by. Chris Brown is scheduled to be arraigned this week for the altercation with Rihanna. This couple just needs to stay away from each other. Brown has said that he acted in self-defense and after seeing the pictures of Rihanna, these two will be better off just staying away. Why people get back together after these types of incidents leaves me puzzled.

First he was dating Lauren Conrad and then it was onto Amanda Bynes, now Doug Reinhardt is rumored to be dating Paris Hilton of all people. It seems like this minor league baseball player knows how to make his rounds in the young Hollywood scene. Doug and Paris were seen together at Teddy's in Los Angeles hanging out in the back corner and dancing together. According to a source, Doug introduced Paris as his girlfriend to his friends. This guy moves on pretty fast, and I have to say he definitely downgraded this time.

Britney Spears is going to be the newest face of Candies clothing and accessories. Past spokespeople for the brand include Hayden Panettiere and Kelly Clarkson. Britney said, "I'm so excited to be the face for Candies' Only at Kohl's." Her tour is starting this week and now she has another job with the Candies campaign. It may be too soon to say, but this looks like a good comeback for Britney Spears.

Clothing Rules: Dressing Your Baby

Mar 19, 2009 by Stephanie Modkins

In 2007, birth rates rose dramatically across the board in America. It seemed that during that time everyone of every age was either getting pregnant or having a baby. So, how has that affected our culture today? It's led the way to more baby fashion lines. Some of which are very questionable.

One of the more questionable baby fashion lines is called "Heelarious." They make high heels for babies. High heels? Unless something has changed, high heels are not shoes that a baby really needs. Nevertheless, "Heelarious" has got a lot of TV and magazine advertisement time. It brings up a new question for parents. What is it? Are there any clothing rules for babies?

Yes! There are clothing rules for babies. Mainly, they are ones that help keep them safe, healthy and in-line with social norms. Here are a few important ones. Babies should be dressed in clothing that . . .

Fits the Weather
Forget about dressing your baby in clothing that doesn't keep him warm just because he delights in being naked. Adorn him with clothing that keeps him warm in the winter and cool in the summer. By doing so, it will help your baby fight sickness and disease.

Suits Their Age
Childhood only happens once. So, let your baby enjoy his. Dress him in Dockers and other clothing suitable for his age. Leave the high heels and other adult clothing created for babies and kids on the shelf.

Keeps them Comfortable
Pay close attention to the kind of clothing your baby likes to wear. If he always rips anything wool off of him, quit buying it. Opt for cotton clothing instead and keep him comfortable.

These three rules should help you keep your baby in fashion. Notice that I didn't mention any actual baby trends. Why? I didn't mention any because until your baby goes to school, they really don't matter.

Celebrity Gossip: Break-Ups and Breakdowns

Mar 18, 2009 by Tiffany B.

Girls Next Door reality star, Holly Madison has broken up with her boyfriend, magician Criss Angel. The couple started dating quickly after Madison broke up with her longtime boyfriend and Playboy owner, Hugh Hefner last fall. Sources claim that she rushed into the relationship with Angel and was never completely over Hefner and how things went down. According to the source, Holly felt that her relationship with Criss Angel was not like she thought it was going to be. Maybe she should actually try dating a half-way decent looking guy next time.

Singer Jewel may be cut from Dancing With the Stars before the show even airs. She writes on her blog that she has tendonitis in her knee and may be forced to drop out of the show because of it. She also says that the doctor told her to not dance for the next couple of days while she takes medicine to get the swelling down. She is hoping that the medicine works and she can get back to dancing and having fun. I wonder who they will replace Jewel with, if she can't dance? They would most likely have to get someone who is not that popular, because the show starts soon and that would be very short notice.

Lindsay Lohan may be getting a new job and a new home soon. Fox News is reporting that Warren Beatty is offering Lindsay a role in his new movie, as long as she moves into one of his guest houses on his property. This way he can know that she is focused on the film and not on anything else. Lindsay has had problems on the sets of movies before, showing up late or being difficult to work with. Lindsay has not made a decision yet. So, Lindsay would be the dumbest person ever if she did not accept a role in a film by legendary Warren Beatty. My question is: why would he want Lindsay in the movie?

Importance of Clothing in Film: The Golden Compass

Mar 18, 2009 by Racheline M.

While The Golden Compass, based on the first of the books in Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials series, was not a huge box office hit and suffered from some negative reviews thanks to a critical detail left out of the ending, it was a gorgeously designed film and a spectacular showcase for costumes influenced both by the Art Deco period and the increasingly popular "steampunk" aesthetic.

With looks that range from the slinky evening gowns of a woman with political ambitions to the fur-lined parkas and goggles of adventurers, The Golden Compass does a magnificent job of showing up a full society in its wardrobe choices, including rich and poor, children and adults. It's a look that also makes us yearn for the past, while speculating about the future.

While steampunk wasn't a part of the mainstream lexicon at the point The Golden Compass was shot, it was an idea that sci-fi fans and culture buffs have been enamored with for some time. What would the Victorian era have looked like if it had high-tech, steam-based machinery, including airships? How would history have evolved from that point? Steampunk is a way of fusing technologies, real and imagined, with the elegance and formality of the past. It was a concept the film, which starts at an alternate universe version of Oxford University, latched onto brilliantly.

Despite some fantastic imagination and special effects, it seems unclear whether the other two films in the book trilogy will be made. With challenging and controversial themes about religion (the books are, in many ways, classifiable as fan-fiction based on Milton's Paradise Lost) and a rather adult narrative that is told through the lives of children, His Dark Materials was always an odd choice for a Hollywood film that was destined to alienate fans as some plot elements were watered down. But even if those fans didn't get the movie magic they hoped for, they still got to see a fantastic glimpse -- thanks to the costumes -- of the world Pullman created.

Celebrity Style: Award Shows

Mar 17, 2009 by Tiffany B.

It appears that color is the fashion trend for celebrities and their award shows. Celebrities have been hitting the red carpet, wearing all kinds of different colors. They seem to be kicking off the spring season with fresh blooms of color.

The Golden Globe Awards was full of color as celebrities stepped out on the red carpet. In fact, red was a popular color with celebrities like Eva Longoria Parker, Kyra Sedgwick and Julia Ormond. Other colors that dominated at the Golden Globes were the arrays of the color blue. Jennifer Morrison, Mary Louise-Parker, January Jones, Anne Hathaway and Blake Lively all wore gowns that were shades of blue.

Color ran rampant at the Grammy Awards, which are known for being a little formal. For the Grammy's, it appeared that multi-colored and patterned frocks were in. Rihanna, LeAnn Rimes and Paris Hilton all wore dresses that were multi-colored. While other celebrities such as Katy Perry and LeToya Luckett chose shades of pink for the red carpet.

The colors galore continued into Oscar night. It seemed once again red was a very popular color for the event. Amy Adams, Guliana Rancic, Heidi Klum and Virginia Madsen all donned red gowns for the event. Another popular color at the Oscars was purple, which was worn by Lisa Rinna, Alicia Keys and Natalie Portman.

Wearing color is the easiest celebrity fashion trend to follow. You may be following it right now and may not even realize it. Simply add some color into your wardrobe with shades of blue, red, purple, green and pink. Try to stay away from wearing all neutral colors like white, black, cream, tan and brown. You can even go a little more daring and try a multi-colored top like this one from Just Cavalli. This celebrity fashion trend is full of endless possibilities.

What Not to Wear: Dressing for Court

Mar 13, 2009 by Stephanie Modkins

In life, I am sure of only a few things. One, the line at the Department of Motor Vehicles will always be long. Two, taxes are as inescapable as death. And three, what you wear to court really makes a difference in your sentencing. How am I sure of the last point? I know it from watching Judge Judy.

For those of you living under a rock, Judge Judy is a television show about people who've filed law suits against each other because of an actual (or perceived) wrongdoing. If you watch it for only a short period of time, you know that certain people automatically set themselves up to lose by the way they dress. Judge Judy rarely sees past a poorly dressed plaintiff. Therefore, it's important to know what NOT to wear to court so you can possibly win your case. Below is a handy list for those of you who like to stay in trouble.

When Headed to Court, Don't Wear:

1. Dirty clothing - even the dirtiest people know how to clean themselves up for a special event. You should consider going to court as one and dress up in clean clothing as a sign of respect.
2. Bright suits - Easter is one of the few days that a bright suit is appropriate. So, when selecting a suit for court, go dark. Navy blues and blacks give you a somber appearance, which help build your credibility.
3. Seductive clothing - court is not the place to show the world how grown and sexy you are. Therefore, leave your hot pants, mini-skirts and tight jeans in the closet. Instead, wear the most conservative outfit you own to court and show the judge you are serious.
4. T-shirts with statements - t-shirts with statements about rapper Tupac or Elvis aren't appropriate for any court room. So, if you plan on wearing a t-shirt, wear a plain one. Remember, the only statement you want to make when you stand before the judge is that you are innocent.

By following these four suggestions, you should give yourself a fighting chance in court. Then, as a free man or woman, you'll be able to work with the rest of us on shortening the line at the DMV.

Celebrity Gossip: Taylor Swift is Not like Lohan and Paris Hilton

Mar 13, 2009 by Tiffany B

After welcoming a daughter less than a year ago, The Office's Angela Kinsey has decided to separate from her husband Warren Lieberstein. The couple has one daughter, Isabel, who was born last May, and they have been married for 8 years. Her rep tells US Magazine, "Angela and Warren are taking some time apart to figure out what is best for their relationship." The couple is still on friendly terms.

Taylor Swift, 19, is telling Rolling Stone just how innocent she is. She tells the magazine that she lives a pretty sheltered life. She has never had one drop of alcohol, never smoked a cigarette and still lives in her childhood room in her parents' house. She says she relates more to people like Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato, even though she is 3 years older than them. She also goes on to say that she will never be one of those people like Lindsay Lohan that are out all night partying and who rebel. Her idea of rebelling is driving in her car wherever she wants to go after being on a tour bus for 2 months. Whatever people may think about Taylor Swift, I'd rather have my teenage daughter look up to her and be "uncool" than idolize someone like Paris Hilton or Lindsay Lohan.

According to the New York Post's Page Six, actress Rachel Bilson and her boyfriend, actor Hayden Christensen got engaged. According to a friend of the couple, Hayden and Rachel got engaged back in December. No wedding date has been set yet. When asked by People if the couple was engaged, Rachel's rep commented, "I don't comment on my clients' personal lives."

Staying Fashionable in a Recession: Neutrals and Classics

Mar 12, 2009 by Lindsay W.

How many times have we heard fashion gurus say, "Pink (or brown, or green, or red, or whatever) is the new black!"? Too many to count. In these tough financial times, however, filling up your closet with the new "it" color each season doesn't make a lot of sense. Buying baby doll dresses and micro-minis just because they're in doesn't either. Fortunately, there is a better way!

Each season, some color always gets referred to as the "new black" - that's because black never goes out of style and looks great with everything (same goes for other neutrals, like beige, white, off-white, dark brown and navy). Building your base wardrobe in neutral colors is a great way to ensure that you never get caught wearing last season's pink trench coat when orange is this season's black.

Neutrals are boring, though - right? Well, they can be. However, they make a great blank slate for you to decorate with trendier pieces, colors and accessories. For instance, a plain white blouse can be paired with a scarf in this season's hottest color, a funky necklace or even adorned with a skinny belt. Also, wearing neutral pants allows you to show off your inner fashionista with fabulous, colorful shoes, boots and stockings. These accessories can be purchased very inexpensively and can keep your basic wardrobe au courant while keeping your wallet full!

Classic styles are another area to focus on. Turtleneck sweaters, crisp white blouses, mid-rise dress slacks, A-line skirts and boot-cut jeans are always in style, so base your wardrobe on these staples. Also, instead of kowtowing to every trend that comes along, figure out what looks best on your body and stick with it.

When you do want to try out a trendier piece, purchase something inexpensive or borrow it from a friend before committing a big chunk of change to something you may only wear once. If something in a "trendy" style truly looks amazing on you, don't worry about wearing it after the trend has passed - if it looks great, it won't look dated. Another plus - you can wait until classics go on sale to buy them, since, by definition, they never go out of style!

Celebrity Gossip: M.I.A. has a baby, 10 Most Stylish Men in America !

Mar 11, 2009 by Tiffany B.

After performing at the Grammy Awards on her due date, singer M.I.A. has given birth to a baby boy. M.I.A. announced the birth of her son on her Celebrity MySpace page. She has not revealed the name of her son yet. This is the first child for both her and her fiancé, Benjamin Bronfman, who is also a musician. M.I.A's song that she sang for Slumdog Millionaire is nominated for an Oscar. She has stated that she will most likely attend the Oscars to sing her song on the stage. That was pretty good timing for her. She had the baby right after the Grammy Awards and in time to make it to the Oscars.

GQ magazine has announced the list of the "Most Stylish Men in America." Among the men that made the list are Justin Timberlake, T.I., Kayne West and Mark Ronson. When asked where he got his sense of style from, Justin Timberlake said it was from his stepdad. He said that his stepdad always went to work looking like "Richard Gere from American Gigolo." I have to say that celebrity men are getting more and more stylish, although I don't think I can agree with T.I. being one of the most stylish men in America.

Madam Tussauds, the famous wax museum in London, has come out with another Britney Spears wax statue. This is the second time that Britney has been featured at the museum. The first statue of Britney depicted her from her "Slave For You" video. The new wax statue shows Britney is a sparkly silver dress holding her MTV video award. The main point of the wax Britney is to depict her comeback. Madame Tussauds has also launched an interactive dance experience to celebrate the release of the new Britney statue. The Britney Dance Chain will allow people to learn some of Britney's dance moves, enter a "dance tunnel" and just dance away on a camera. I think it would be so interesting to go see Madam Tussauds wax museum. A little freaky, but definitely interesting!

Celebrity Style: Dress Casually Like a Star

Mar 10, 2009 by Tiffany B.

Celebrities are not always wearing red carpet dresses. No, most of the time a celebrity is photographed they are shopping, going to the airport, or just relaxing at lunch with a friend or significant other. So, how can you *look like a celebrity when you dress casually*? Here are some outfits that are staples for celebrities and their casual day looks.

Jeans and a white t-shirt. Just about every celebrity has been photographed wearing jeans and a white t-shirt, including men. Kate Hudson was just spotted wearing jeans with a white t-shirt as she headed through the airport. Although this look is really simple and plain, it is the ultimate look for cool and casual. Make sure to keep the t-shirt fitted so you don't look sloppy. You can add some style to the look by pairing the white tee with jeans that are faded or worn or go a bit dressier with trouser jeans and platform heels. You can also add a colorful scarf to the outfit or put on some funky jewelry pieces to add some more style.

Another casual look for celebrities is the cotton dress. The dress can be long or short. All that matters is that it is comfortable yet stylish. Celebrities such as Nicole Richie, Ashlee Simpson, Rachel Bilson and Natalie Portman are all fans of casual cotton dresses. There are tons of different ways you can take this celebrity fashion trend. You can keep it simple like this Moschino cotton dress, or you can choose a busier dress with flowers or one that is longer. The key to this celebrity fashion trend is to just keep it simple with clean lines and try to look like you aren't trying hard to be in style.

Green Movement in Clothing: Buying Inexpensive Green Clothing

Mar 10, 2009 by MJM

Sometimes it can be difficult to shop for green clothing. However, it is possible -- even during this economy -- to find reasonably priced green clothing. Here are some tips for buying inexpensive green clothing:

1. Have a shopping plan. The first thing you need to do is have a plan. Are there Web sites that sell green clothing? Do you know of stores in town that sell greener clothing? What is your budget? Make sure that you know your price range. Make a plan that reflects your budget and your shopping route.

2. Look to thrift stores. Interestingly, the greenest clothing is not the stuff made from bamboo or that organic cotton t-shirt. Used clothing is the greenest, because it does not require new processes to create and does not use up additional resources. And, of course, thrift stores represent a dramatic savings. Plan ahead and find out when the store puts out the new merchandise (i.e. new things may be put out every Tuesday morning). You can continue the cycle by donating the clothing you no longer wear to the thrift store and getting a tax advantage.

3. Avoid dry-clean-only clothes. Dry cleaning is a process that uses a great many chemicals and pollutes. When shopping, check the labels and try to avoid dry-clean-only clothes. Because dry-clean-only clothing often costs more, you will find that you are saving money by avoiding these clothes.

4. Look for organic clothing. If you prefer new clothing, look for organic clothes. Clothing made from hemp, bamboo and organic cotton are more environmentally friendly than other materials. However, you may have to pay a little bit more. Try looking online for Web stores that sell organic clothing at a discount.

It is possible to have clothing that is friendly to the earth and that does not cost a great deal. With some time and planning -- and some shopping around -- it is possible to green up your closet without breaking the bank.

Celebrity Gossip: Paris gets Blown Off, LC moves out !

Mar 9, 2009 by Tiffany B

Rihanna and Chris Brown were no shows at the Grammy awards. They were originally scheduled to perform at the Grammy's, but due to personal reasons they both backed out. Chris Brown is under investigation for an alleged domestic violence battery charge. According to the L.A. police department, Brown and an unidentified female were in their car when an argument broke out. Both the woman and Chris Brown got out of the car where the argument escalated even farther. When police arrived, Chris Brown was already gone from the scene, and the female had visible injuries. So, who was this unidentified female? Rihanna? The two were seen early that night together at *Clive Davis*' Pre-Grammy party, and she backed out of the Grammy's right before the show. I have a feeling somehow this will be leaked to the press, and we will know who it was sooner or later.

It seems that Prince Harry has blown Paris Hilton off. Paris Hilton had plans to meet Prince Harry for a date, but right before the date, Prince Harry called it off. Prince Harry, who is newly single after breaking up with his girlfriend, Chelsy Davy, asked one of his bodyguards to call Paris to break off the meeting. Hilton is in the UK to promote her new series Paris Hilton's British Best Friend. Paris was not happy at all with being blown off by Prince Harry. Good for Prince Harry. He needs to stay as far away as possible from Paris Hilton. I don't know how she even got the date with him in the first place.

US Weekly Magazine is reporting that Lauren Conrad from The Hills has moved out of her house that she shared with her best friend Lo. A source tells the magazine that, "a home's a big responsibility, and with her schedule it didn't make sense. A condo is more manageable for a 23 year old with a budding career." So, what they were in the home for a year? Maybe she couldn't afford it anymore now that Audrina moved out?

Celebrity Gossip: Clooney back for ER Final Episode

Mar 6, 2009 by Tiffany B

Actress Claire Danes and actor Hugh Dancy are engaged. Daines' rep has confirmed this news but has not let any other information go about when the couple got engaged or when they will get married. The couple first started dating back in 2007 while filming the movie Evening together.

Dr. Doug Ross and Nurse Carol Hathaway will be returning to ER together. News broke last week that George Clooney would be returning to ER for the final episode. Well it is now known that Juliana Margulies is also returning for the final episode. Viewers will now be able to find out what ever happened to Dr Ross and nurse Hathaway, who left unmarried but moving away together. Clooney and Margulies both left the show within a year of each other and now after eight years are coming back to give closure to their on-screen relationship.

Christian Bale has made a public apology for his swear-word-laden tirade that he put on a crew member on the set of his movie, Terminator Salvation. Bale said that he has "no confusion whatsoever -- I was out of order, beyond belief." He went on to say in an interview on a radio show that, "There is nobody who has heard that tape that has been hit harder by it than me. It is inexcusable." Before closing the interview he asked fans not to take his tirade out on the movie and to still go see this movie. He also closed the interview saying, "I am embarrassed by it, and I regret it. I ask everybody to sit down and ask themselves, 'Have they ever had a bad day and ever lost their temper and really regretted it immensely?'" I actually feel sorry for the guy, even though many probably don't. How many people when they are at work have gotten annoyed and frustrated with other coworkers mistakes and mess-ups? How many other actors have treated their coworkers or set crew like crap, and we just never hear about it?

What Not to Wear: Formal Attire Disasters

Mar 6, 2009 by Stephanie Modkins

We see it every year - celebrities - walking the red carpet and wearing the wrong thing. What was the latest fiasco? It was the Grammy Awards. John Mayer wore a black Kung Fu suit. Lisa Rinna showed up looking like a Las Vegas show girl. And singer Duffy wore an ill-fitted, dowdy black dress that looked like her grandmother made it. With all of the money these celebs make, you'd think they'd be able to dress appropriately for a gala affair. Yet, the reason why they ALL can't do it is because they are just like us; they don't know what not to wear at a red carpet event because they rarely dress up.

Unless you are born in some obscure area as a prince or princess, you probably rarely dress up in formal attire. As a result, you don't have a clue about what NOT to wear at a red carpet event. Just like a celebrity, only a poorly received outfit will alert you to you to your fashion faux pas. Of course, then, it's too late. So, in order to avoid an embarrassing situation, here is some help. Below are 3 things you shouldn't wear to a red carpet event:

  • Outfits that haven't been custom fitted
Whether you have a body shaped like a duck or a bathing suit model, formal clothing needs to be fitted to your form. Take any outfit you plan on wearing to a seamstress.

Don't use a red carpet event as a way to wear all of your garish jewelry. Keep it simple and elegant. Wear only one signature piece. If you go further than that, you'll look over accessorized.

Only Jerry Seinfeld and a few popular rappers can get away with wearing tennis shoes and other odd things to a red carpet event. The rest of us have to take it more seriously and wear formal attire. Keep this in mind and go for classic attire, colors and cuts.

Follow these three suggestions and you'll walk any red carpet event with style.

Importance of Clothing in TV: Life on Mars

Mar 4, 2009 by Racheline M.

ABC's Life on Mars, the American version of the BBC hit, relies on fashion to take us back to the gritty world of New York City in 1973 after the show's protagonist gets hit by a car in 2008 and finds himself thrown 25 years into the past.

While initial buzz on the show was weak and focused on concern that the ABC production wouldn't live up to its British predecessor, Life on Mars has proven to be the right show for the right time here in the States. After all, with the economic crisis, New York City in 1973 doesn't look quite as alien as it could.

That said, clothes have changed in the last 25 years, and even the show's extras all need to be fitted for 1970s wardrobe for each and every episode. That said, while clashing patterns and wide ties may be over, Life on Mars is reaffirming certain 1970s looks that never went out of style.

Overall, though, Life on Mars presents a unique challenge for its costume designers who need to find a way to make the show look recognizably like the early 1970s while also making it attractive and appealing to a modern audience, many of whom may be too young to have any nostalgia for the era. Of course, having the central character originally be from 2008 helps, because he can react with us to some of the aesthetic horrors of the era.

Even so, Life on Mars does manage to have an overall pleasing look. Corduroy and sports jackets are big for the show's male characters, as are trench coats and leather jackets . For women, wrap dresses with swingy skirts, denim and high waists are a feature of the show's fashion sensibility, as are a number of hippie-influenced looks. Fur trim and a range of browns, tans and other natural colors also dominate and help to accentuate the grimness of New York City in one of its most financially depressed years.

Celebrity Gossip: New Couples, New Lara Croft Movie and Phelps' Troubles

Mar 4, 2009 by Stephanie Sims

It looks like actress Amanda Bynes is definitely over "The Hills" reality actor Doug Reinhardt. The actress was spotted at SUSHISAMBA at the Palazzo having lunch with a group of friends. Bynes was seated with two other girls and two guys. Michelle Tsang of Preferred Public Relations told us the group ordered a large assortment of samba rolls and seemed like they were having a fun time together. They may have all been friends, but it seemed Amanda was paying more attention to one of the guys. She sat very close to this guy friend during the entire lunch. Yeah, we're willing to bet that Amanda is over Reinhardt.

Bynes' romantic status may be under speculation, but one new couple has been confirmed. "Gossip Girl" actors Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr confirmed that they are seeing each other by kissing each other courtside at a Laker's game. They've also been spotted kissing and flirting while waiting for a flight in the Dallas' airport back in December.

Michael Phelps is trying to make amends after being caught taking a bong hit by the paparazzi. After a photo of him smoking pot was leaked, Phelps issued a public apology and went right back to swim training. This isn't the first time he's gotten in trouble with substances; he was arrested for a DUI in 2004 and was sentenced to 18 months probation. However, it's still uncertain if he'll swim in the 2012 Olympics.

And in movie news, Warner Bros. announced last week they want to shoot a new Lara Croft film. "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" grossed $275 million worldwide, but the sequel, "Cradle of Life," didn't impress audiences as much. Angelina Jolie has moved on, however, so Warner Bros. will recast the lead role. With no scriptwriter or director for the new Lara Croft film yet, it's likely that casting won't begin until much later this year.

Green Movement in Clothing: Traditional Dry Cleaning vs. Green Dry Cleaning

Mar 3, 2009 by MJM

One of the most "un-green" things you can do with your clothing is taking it to the dry cleaner. In fact, if you are really, really serious about joining the green movement in clothing, you should consider doing away with dry-clean-only clothing altogether. Dry cleaners are the most polluting businesses in many cities, and the chemicals used are harsh and damaging.

For most of us, though, a nice dry clean only dress or blouse or suit is necessary. They look sharp, and the materials used give off an overall impression of professionalism. There are green dry cleaning alternatives (or rather, greener than the traditional method), but you may find that your clothes may not get as clean as if you used the harsh cleaners and chemicals.

Traditional Dry Cleaning vs. Green Dry Cleaning
Traditional dry cleaning makes use of perchloroethylene (perc for short). This is a very toxic chemical that has been shown to depress the nervous system. Perc is very effective, however, at getting out most stains. An alternative method that is not quite so hazardous and polluting is liquid carbon dioxide. It still offers a level of pollution, but it is not nearly as bad.

Finally, there are green dry cleaning alternatives. GreenEarth makes a solvent that is silicone based and can be used in some modified machines. This solvent is much gentler on the environment. However, there are some stains that GreenEarth just can't beat. If you go with green dry cleaning, you will have to make sure that the stains aren't too tough, and some of the stains will not come out at all.

Green dry cleaning is a nice thought, but in some cases it just is not feasible if you want to salvage your outfit. So, carefully consider the care your clothing needs next time you make a purchase. You may decide to get something that is more environmentally friendly than dry-clean-only clothing.

Movie Premiere: "He's Just Not That Into You"

Mar 3, 2009 by Tiffany B

At the premiere of the new movie, He's Just Not That Into You, it was a fashion lover's heaven. At the premiere, the stars of the movie came out in full force. There was Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, Scarlett Johansson, Ginnifer Goodwin and Jennifer Connelly. Each of the celebrities had their own fashion style and looked completely different.

Jennifer Aniston looked sleek and sophisticated in an all black pantsuit. Aniston had on an all black satin pantsuit with a black, low-cut camisole underneath. She accessorized with long gold necklaces that did a great job of showing off her décolletage. She had the classic style of a woman, which Jennifer Aniston usually does. It would be nice though, every once in awhile to see Jennifer in some color.

On the completely other end of the spectrum was Scarlett Johansson. She wore a long, flower print, strapless dress that really stuck out from the crowd. The dress was pink, but it had several large flowers going down the dress. The unique dress was designed by Oscar de la Renta. She looked glamorous while still looking young and fresh. It was a good change for a red carpet look.

Drew Barrymore also had a great look at the movie premiere. She was seen wearing a strapless, black, satin dress that had a champagne-colored oversized bow across the chest. The dress was great for a movie premiere, and the style of the dress fit her well. She paired it with black peep-toe pumps to complete her dazzling outfit.

Another of the stars of the movie that really looked good was Ginnifer Goodwin. She kept her look young and trendy in her orange mini-dress. She paired her dress with matching strappy shoes that complimented the look well. Her accessories were also gorgeous as she wore a large necklace that was bronze and gold, which paired with her dress perfectly.

The only star that I really wasn't that impressed with was Jennifer Connelly. Her dress was a green mini-dress that sparkled way too much. The dress also was a little strange, because it was a cocktail-like dress but with 3/4 length sleeves. It was way too sparkly and just was not that good of a look for her. Also, she didn't do the best job pairing her gladiator sandals with the outfit. She was the fashion miss for the night.

Celebrity Gossip: Stars Leaving Hit Shows

Mar 2, 2009 by Tiffany B

Singer and actress Mandy Moore will soon be heading down the aisle. Her rep has confirmed to US Magazine that Moore and singer Ryan Adams are engaged. She was spotted out in L.A. shopping with a ring on her finger. The duo started dating in March of last year and briefly split up in July, before getting back together. No date has been released for the wedding or when they actually got engaged. I just think that this couple is such a weird paring. I think of Mandy Moore all innocent and then Ryan Adams as a rocker, grungy-type person. I have a feeling that they may never actually see the aisle.

Nicolette Sheridan's rep has confirmed that she will be leaving Desperate Housewives after this season. Sheridan denies being fired from the show but is leaving on good terms to pursue other projects. As you may know, this is not the first time that it has been said that Sheridan is leaving the show. But apparently ABC has also confirmed that she will not be on next season's shows. I wonder if she is just going to leave Wisteria Lane again or will she be killed off?

In other TV news, it has been rumored that Katherine Heigl will be leaving Grey's Anatomy right along with her co-star T.R. Knight. James Pickens, who plays the chief on the show, reported that both Heigl and Knight will be leaving after this season. They both want out of the show, and Heigl wants to pursue other things with her career. I think that these two people should be grateful for what Grey's Anatomy did for their career. Heigl would not have been in the movies she did if it was not for Grey's Anatomy. I think she needs a lesson in humility.

Evolution of Clothing: The Pencil Skirt

Mar 2, 2009 by Racheline M.

The pencil skirt first emerged as a style with a name after World War II. With the end of cloth rationing, clothes could once again be luxurious and used fabric in ways more inventive than utilitarian military styling. This led both to the full, crinoline skirts of the 1950s, but also to longer, sleek styles that echoed pre-World War I silhouettes with their full busts and corseted waists. These styles also emphasized hips and were made even more dramatic by a fishtail flare around the ankles.

By the end of WWII, a more casual world filled with more active women only supported the fishtail detail for evening or formal occasions, but the long narrow skirt, now dubbed a pencil skirt, was ready to make a comeback. These tight skirts in their most extreme form were essentially hobble skirts -- difficult to walk in and almost impossible to sit down in. The look was emphasized by a corseted waist, emphasized by how this fashion of the times was photographed with the model standing with one foot behind the other and angling their hips forward to make the skirt look even narrower than it was.

As the sixties approached, skirts began to change again with hemlines going up and structure and tightness going down. These more freely moving skirts became the dominant fashion statement in the 1970s, but the pencil skirt was far from dead.

The pencil skirt reemerged as a fashion item in the 1980s as a curvier look became fashionable for women again, and highly structure clothes appealed as women became more focused on taking leadership positions in the workplace. The pencil skirt of the 1980s, though, was slightly more practical, often being styled with buttons or even a zipper up the back to allow the woman to adjust the skirt to make it easier to move in.

While the 1990s saw a retreat from structured clothing with retro-70s styles and the emergence of the grunge look, structured clothes returned with the turn of the millennium -- a trend inspired both by an interest in the fashion of the first half of the 20th century and the fact that war-time fashions historically tend to be structured. Today's pencil skirts, often paired with a "secretary blouse" (tight waist, short puffed sleeves and loose but suggestive bust line) are shorter than the hobbling pencil skirts of the 1950s, usually coming in at about knee length, but their strong silhouette continues to be appealing.
