Celebrity Style: Bright Summer Colors

May 5, 2009 by Tiffany B

The warm weather is approaching and soon summer will be here. It seems that with summer comes bright colors. Celebrities have been seen wearing some brightly colored frocks lately, and not only clothes but accessories, like handbags and shoes.

Celebrities are welcoming the summer with quite a loud fashion trend. It appears that the days of neon and bright colors are back. But, don't start whipping out your 80's neon clothing just yet. These bright colors are being worn in updated and modern ways that look nothing like the neon days of the 80's. Singer Ashanti even told OK Magazine, that she rearranges her closet when spring and summer rolls around. She told the magazine that "I love all of this season's bright colors."

A lot of celebrities have been rocking this trend with the bright shoes. Fergie was seen wearing bright orange shoes with her white dress on the red carpet. The shoes definitely gave her outfit the pop of color it needed to add interest. Other celebrities that have been sporting the bright shoes are Nicky Hilton, Mariah Carey, and Eva Longoria Parker. If you want to keep your bright colors simple this season, then you may want to stick with bright shoes to add the pop of color. Try these neon pink shoes by Juicy Couture.

Other celebrities are going full force on the bright color fashion trend and are sporting clothing that definitely stands out. Kate Moss paired a bright pink long tunic with her black leggings. While Gossip Girl's Taylor Momsen went the opposite route and paired a bright pink mini-skirt with a black top and leather jacket. Other celebrities that are standing out in their bright clothing are Paris Hilton, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Jessica Alba, Blake Lively, Fergie, Demi Moore, and Vanessa Hudgens.

If you don't want to draw that much attention to yourself but you want to stay in fashion, then try adding bright colored accessories to your outfit. As mentioned before, shoes can help liven up an otherwise boring outfit, but you can also wear jewelry with bright colors or carry a handbag that is brightly colored. The possibilities are endless with this fashion trend.

Celebrity Style: Stars Ditching Dresses for Suits

Apr 21, 2009 by Tiffany B.

Celebrity women are ditching the dresses on the red carpet and instead are sporting power suits. In the past couple of months, there has been an increase of women celebrities wearing suits to red carpet events instead of the normal dress. Amy Adams, Emily Blunt, Penelope Cruz, Naomi Watts, Anne Hathaway, Kate Winslet, and Eva Longoria Parker have all worn suits to a red carpet event within the past couple of weeks. Another big celebrity that has been seen wearing a couple of different suits is Jennifer Aniston.

Celebrities seem to be making the suit more of a statement piece rather than a boring outfit that can only be worn to work. Celebrities know how to accessorize their suits and pick out the perfect pieces that flatter their body and make them look feminine.

To keep a suit looking feminine there are several things that celebrities do that you can also follow. The first would be to accessorize with big and bold jewelry. When Jennifer Aniston wore her black suit to the premier of her movie, she paired it with a long gold necklace that attracted attention. Amy Adams added layers of black beaded necklaces to her suit. For a look like Jennifer Aniston's try a necklace like this one by Roberto Cavalli.

Another way that celebrities like to keep their suits looking feminine and not like they are wearing their husband's suit are with tops that scream sexy and sleek. Again, look back at Jennifer Aniston's suit. She paired a black suit and wore a low cut black top underneath to add the hint of cleavage and sexiness to the outfit. Anne Hathaway also paired her black suit with a plain low-cut shell underneath which provided her with that added touch. If you don't want to go the low cut route, you can do what Naomi Watts did and pair the suit with a feminine and flirty blouse. Try blouses that have ruffles, ties, or are sheer for that added charm to the suit.

Celebrity Style: Back to Feminine and Flirty Fashion Trends

It appears that celebrities are getting back to the feminine and flirty fashion trends. One of the big fashion trends among celebrities right now are ruffles. In fact Reese Witherspoon was just seen wearing a dress with ruffles at a celebrity event. They key to wearing ruffles is to keep them from overpowering you. Like Reese's dress, a small ruffle around the neckline, especially in v-necks and lower necklines, add some feminine touches to the outfit without taking over the whole outfit. Ruffles don't have to be strictly on dresses though, they can also be on shirts, like this Robert Rodriguez one and even skirts. Other celebrities that have been wearing ruffles lately include, Nicole Richie, Mischa Barton, Taylor Swift, and Keira Knightley.

Another feminine fashion trend that celebrities have been following are bows. It could be a simple bow on a shoe or handbag, or one that makes a slightly larger statement on a shirt or dress. A large bow can add some interest to an outfit, but if you are not comfortable with that, you can always opt for a smaller bow for a more sophisticated look. Such celebrities as Drew Barrymore and Eva Longoria Parker have been spotted wearing dresses with large and dramatic bows. On the other hand, Reese Witherspoon and Katie Holmes chose to sport outfits with small bows to add some detail and a flirty touch to their outfits.

The last feminine and flirt fashion trend that celebrities have been following is the lace trend. Lace is a great way to bring out a flirty and feminine side. You can choose from a full lace outfit to just a touch of lace here and there. Lace dresses have been seen all of the red carpet along with shirts and even skirts. Celebrities such as Anne Hathaway, Blake Lively, Emmy Rossum, and Thandie Newton have all worn lace dresses on the red carpet. When following the lace fashion trend make sure to keep the overall piece pretty subtle and not too sexy so that it does not look like lingerie. You want to be flirty and feminine not trashy.

Celebrity Style: Flowers, Shoulders, and Scarfs

We have been seeing flowers all over the fashion trends on celebrities lately. Well, the new fashion trend among celebrities for flowers is on their shoes. Not just subtle little flowers on shoes, but big and bold rosettes on heels and flats. Eva Longoria Parker wore a black pair of stiletto heels with a large black flower on the front, while Cameron Diaz opted to wear flats with multi-colored and embellished flowers with her dress on the red carpet. This is definitely going to continue to be a big trend as we head into the spring and warmer months next year.

One less flashy celebrity fashion trend is the one shouldered black dress. This is a great option for a night out, or if you are a celebrity going for a more casual red carpet look. Lauren Conrad from The Hills, along with Amanda Bynes and Jamie-Lynn Sigler have all worn the one shouldered black dress to Hollywood events. This celebrity fashion trend would even go well with the flower shoes that celebrities have been wearing, like a cute, one shouldered black dress with some red high heels with a rosette on it. You could pass for a celebrity if you wore that!

If you want a more casual celebrity fashion trend that will also keep you warm in this cold winter weather, try a plaid scarf. Pairing a black or brown winter coat with a plaid scarf can get you that celebrity look. Hillary Duff, Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift have all paired their black coats with a cute plaid scarf. There are several different ways that you can wear the scarf. You can tie it around your neck to keep you warm and trendy or wear it like Miley did by letting it just hang around your neck. Try a trendy scarf from Missoni to rock out this celebrity fashion trend while keeping you warm in this cold, cold winter!

Celebrity Gossip: Paparazzi, Daggers, and Eva Went from a -0 to a 0

So many celebrities are talking out about how the paparazzi are getting out of control. The latest celebrity talking is High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale. She recently told Access Hollywood that a member of the paparazzi broke into her house to get footage of her. She stated, "They broke in an entry and went into the hall and followed my stylist." The cops were quickly called and took the man away, and the good thing for Ashley is she said that she has not seen the man since. This has to be so scary for her. She's a young woman and has to worry about paparazzi breaking into her house just to get some pictures of her. I know that there is a price for being a celebrity, but when it comes to this, something needs to be done.

In another shocker, Angelina Jolie tells W Magazine that she has already bought her 7-year-old son Maddox knives to play with. She said that her mom gave her daggers when she was around 11 or 12 and she has been obsessed with them ever since. Now, her son Maddox is into them. Okay, who in their right mind gives a 7-year-old boy knives? I don't care who she is, in my opinion that is just wrong. Isn't Angelina Jolie the person that is all about no war and violence and loves the earth? But she takes on movie roles in which there is fighting and violence and then gives her son knives.

After all the mean rumors that have been going around about Eva Longoria Parker and how she has gotten fat, Eva has come out and announced that she is still a size 0. Eva states that "I just got rounder." Eva has told the press in the past that, no, she is not pregnant, and that she gained some weight for her role on her television show Desperate Housewives. I don't understand why they just can't leave Eva alone. Whoever thinks that a size 0 is fat needs their head examined. Eva is still beautiful and most women would die to have her body!

Celebrity Fashion: UGG Boots, Belts, Metallics

Oct 7, 2008 by Tiffany B

Celebrities are still obsessed with wearing UGGs. For the past two years, UGG boots have been in fashion for the colder weather, and it seems like this year is no exception. Jamie Pressly was seen wearing her UGGs on the way into the Conan O'Brien show. Minnie Driver was spotted shopping wearing UGGs a few weeks back while she was still pregnant. Other celebrities that have been seen wearing UGGs lately include Sienna Miller, Hilary Duff, Blake Lively and Katherine Heigl. This is probably one celebrity fashion trend that is actually worth looking into. UGG boots are quite comfortable and can be worn with anything from jeans to a pair of sweatpants.

Another celebrity trend that appears to be going nowhere this season is the belt. It seems like celebrities are putting belts on every outfit - everything from a dress to a blouse to even a plain t-shirt. Practically every woman celebrity, at one time of another, has belted a dress or top on the red carpet. The trick with this fashion trend is choosing the right belt for the outfit and your body. There are tons of different belts available, such as skinny ones, wide ones, jeweled ones and plain, simple ones. Belting an otherwise shapeless shirt or dress is a great way to show off your figure. Such celebrities as Lauren Conrad, Heidi Klum, Leighton Meister and Fergie all seem to do a good job with that fashion trend.

One big celebrity fashion trend that can be seen on the red carpet is the use of metallic colors. Metallic dresses, handbags, belts and even shoes are popping up everywhere in Hollywood. Such celebrities as Eva Longoria Parker, Hayden Panettiere, Sophia Bush, Britney Spears, Ashanti, Audrina Patridge and Charlize Theron are all sparkling in metallic colors. If you are shy about standing out in metallics this season, go for metallic accessories such as handbags or shoes. You can still have the Hollywood fashion but without all the fuss. With all the holiday parties coming up, metallics are a great fashion trend to follow.

TV/Movie/Celebrity Style: Rings the Size of Cocktails and Tunic Dresses

Aug 21, 2008 by Tiffany B

We all know that celebrities have plenty of money to spend on jewelry and accessories, and they are definitely showing that off. A big trend in jewelry with celebrities is big cocktail rings. They can be worn to red carpet events or just dates on the town. It seems like the bigger the better. Such celebrities as Fergie, Mariah Carey, Eva Longoria, Carmen Electra, Paris Hilton, Blake Lively and so many more have been seen sporting huge cocktail rings around Hollywood. The rings are definitely noticeable and catch the eye quickly. Rihanna is almost always photographed wearing some sort of huge cocktail ring on her fingers, and usually more than one. Although celebrities may pay thousands of dollars for some of their rings, some of them actually go the cheaper route. Marc Jacobs makes cocktails rings that are not that expensive and can be afforded by the average person. Try out his cocktail rings on your next date out to help you feel like a celebrity.

As summer winds down, it seems like celebrities are getting in their last days of summer fashion with tunic dresses. Tunic dresses are usually mini-dresses that are not really form fitting and are usually in a bohemian print or style. If you don't dare wear a mini-dress out in public, a tunic dress can also be worn with a skinny pair of jeans underneath. This will also help you take this celebrity trend into the fall. Such celebrities as Nicky Hilton, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Rachel Bilson, and Hayden Panettiere seem to love tunic dresses and have worn quite a few of them. For a more defined look, pair your tunic dress with a belt, like the ones from Dolce and Gabbana as Rachel Bilson did.

The tunic dress can be worn in two different styles. To go for more of a casual look for your tunic dress, do what Nicky Hilton does and pair it with a pair of flat sandals. To make the tunic dress more of a dressy outfit, pair it with a pair of high heeled sandals as Carmen Electradoes.
