Oct 6, 2009 by Joanna C.

Two LipsKitty Kat boots are super fun and sexy. They are a perfect addition to any wardrobe and go with just about anything. From your favorite pair of skinny jeans or with a skirt and tights, they are perfect-o!

Our little Heaven was rocking these sky-high boots today at the Zappos.com Headquarters. One of the biggest trends to hit the industry this season has been over-the-knee boots. And not to be outdone, Two Lips™ has been a major player in that trend.

The Kitty Kat boots are comfortable, and Miss Heaven can testify to that. "I have been wearing them for about five hours or so and my feet don’t hurt at all," she said.

As women, we know that comfort is key when it comes to buying shoes or boots. As we head into the winter months, we realize that warmth is important. Heaven also told us that she was warm and comfy in her Two Lipsboots. These Kitty Kats will appeal to fashionistas everywhere! We no longer have to exchange fashion for comfort! One can stay warm and look hot in boots like these. The lace-up feature on the back of the calf allows you to get a perfect fit and flexible suede provides versatility in how you choose to wear them. They can be worn up or slouched a little to suit your personal look.

From the Runway to Your Closet: Tweed

Sep 24, 2009 by Tiffany B

As we head into the fall months, one classic style that remains for fall and winter is again making a big appearance on the runways. Tweed is a style that never goes out of fashion, but this fall and winter you will be seeing much more of the wool fabric.

When some people think of tweed, they think of the dowdy, matronly looks of several years ago. Tweed clothing has gotten an update and it can be sexy, sophisticated and elegant. No longer are you only given options of brown or grey tweed, but we are seeing more and more colors such as purple, pink, and blue.

You can wear this runway fashion trend several different ways. The most common way to wear tweed is with your outerwear. Picture a fitted tweed pea coat or blazer for this fall or winter. Another trendy way to wear this style is with a tweed dress or skirt. Instead of going for the basic brown herringbone pattern, look for a purple or pink color. For a great work outfit, pair a fitted blouse with a pair of tweed trousers for the ultimate in sophistication.

There are also several tweed accessories that can make an outfit. A tweed hat added to a t-shirt and pair of jeans can add some drama to an outfit, while tweed shoes can add some effect to a plain dress. Other accessories to look for are handbags and scarves.

The great thing about this runway fashion trend is that it is a classic style that will still be around next fall and winter. This is a reason why you should be willing to invest some money into your tweed pieces. Knowing that you can wear them for years to come, makes it worth it since you will be able to look great for years down the road. Look for well-structured pieces that are made of quality wool and that will last. Also, there is nothing more tacky when it comes to imitation tweed. Just don't go there!

Style It: One Little Black Dress - Three Great Looks!

Aug 22, 2009 by Lee S.

Fashion mavens say brown is the new black, or maybe it's pink this year, who knows? But one thing is always certain: every stylish woman needs at least one versatile little black dress in her wardrobe, a dress that can go anywhere with the right accessories.

Start with a sleeveless black "Samba" dress from Lole. Take it to the office by adding a great jacket, and stay work-focused in Tantra shoes by JUMP in black with stylish cut-outs and a cute little bow. For that essential burst of color, try a doctor bag from Carlos Falchi in orange. If you want to add just a hint of the wild, add an animal bangle watch from Pedre Watch.

Switch into a casual mode by slipping on a yellow tee from Fitzwell Allison under the dress, or not, depending on your mood. But do wear darling red sandals by Annie, comfortable enough for shopping or afternoon tea, and carry the party with you with a fiesta-look South of the Border tote from Betseyville Handbags. For a glint of gold at your ear, add sophisticated large hoop earrings in polished gold from Sheila Faji.

Turn the dress into perfect date wear easily. Dress up with Jelissa2 pumps from GUESS in gold leather. Add more gold with a Franchi pleated clutch with room for the essentials, like keys, wallet, and lipstick, and so much style it might explode. Swap the hoops for something luxurious, like "Just Lilly" fleur de lis gold earrings from Just Cavalli. Wrap it all up with an Italian linen wrap that doubles as a scarf from Love Quotes in confetti; a snazzy name for a snazzy fuchsia shade to make your outfit stand out.

It's amazing what one little black dress can do. Fashionistas, put your mind to it, and I'm sure you can come up with even more looks all by yourselves.

Style It!: Make Your Afternoon Outfit Change to Evening Wear

May 23, 2009 by Lee S.

Dressing stylishly is about much more than the perfect pair of jeans, although that's a great place to start. It's about putting the right pieces together to make a great outfit that can go from one setting to another with only a couple of changes, and the right accessories.

Let's start with shopping and lunch with your girlfriends. These great jeans are 7 for All Mankind high waist boot cut jeans in a stretch denim with dark wash, designed to flatter your figure, and to be fashion forward while making a nod to fashion's past. Top it with this chic tie neck A-line top in a dark sapphire from BCB Generation.

Add a funky jacket like this Gaultier in off-white that curves in to the waist and flares out to the bottom back. The double floret button front adds to its appeal, as do the puffed sleeves. Yes, it's shorter than the top - that's OK. The perfect day shoes are ankle boots from Charlie One Horse by Lucchese with a cushioned insole and a two and a half inch heel. Make this outfit really pop with this Damascus Satchel in a spring-time violet, with enough room for wallet, shades, and even a bottle of water.

To change this outfit for an evening out with your significant other, just switch to a Robert Rodriguez jacket in Carbon, with a two button closure and shawl collar that lets the lovely neckline of your top be seen. The three-quarter inch sleeves are accented with double buttons for an extra touch of style. Change your shoes for evening to a pair of sexy gladiator sandals from Promiscuous, in black patent. The final touch? These feminine and oh-so-sexy marcasite and pearl drop earrings from Judith Jack. Keep the satchel because it adds that touch of brightness that gets you noticed.

Styling it is not that hard, you just need the right pieces with great accessories, and you too can be runway ready!

Easy Fashion Tips: Top Trends for Dresses

May 21, 2009 by Sabah K.

Coverups, loose flowy dresses and long bandeau-style gowns are the top picks from the fashion front this Spring, so now is the time to stock up on the bold and bright prints and hues of the season and undergo your very own seasonal makeover. This season's top trends in the dress department include oversized floral designs, frock-style sundresses and splashes of color from the tropics. Whether you're a strapless dress loving diva or just want to show off your tan in a minidress, here are some of your best picks in dresses this Spring:

Gauzy Sundress
Leave it to Tommy Bahama to lead the way in one of the coolest looks of the season; the semi-sheer Burned Out Dress is the perfect swim cover-up or the dress you can lounge in when you're off on a cruise. It's designed with a burnout weave and leafy print gauze pattern, and the loose fit and lightweight material make it a great match for almost all body types.

Strapless Denim Dress
Yes, you can get away with denim this Spring, so long as it's part of a dress. Lightweight denim cut with a tube-top style bandeau or ruching across the chest is the perfect spring/summer ensemble for those carefree days of shopping sprees, relaxing on the beach or just for enjoying a few cocktails on the patio. It's easily paired with superwedge heels or espadrilles; the perfect summer look!

The Bandeau Maxi Dress
Maxi dresses are back for yet another year, and this is the season to deck yourself out in bold, tropical hues. The maxi dress is suitable for almost all body types and the more flowing fabric, the better. Get yours in a vibrant turquoise, green, orange and purple combo to be the ultimate showstopping ensemble.

The Halter Ruffled Dress
The halter dress designed with a tier of ruffles is the ultra-feminine look of the season, and a great way to make a fashion statement at the next social get-together. Just pin up your hair in a chic bob or updo and enjoy life in the glamorous lane!

The Classic Jersey Dress
A simple, chic jersey dress will keep you looking sharp on those weekend errands and is a great piece to throw into your weekend travel bag. Comfortable, soft and oh-so-versatile, this one's a must for your spring and summer ensemble.

From the Runway to Your Closet: Classic Black and White

May 21, 2009 by Tiffany B

One of the hottest looks on the fashion runways for this summer was the classic black and white look. The black and white combination has been a classic look for quite some time, but it was seen all over the runways for summer 2009. It is one of those fashion trends that is classic but has its popular and not-so popular times.

The black and white look is actually one of the easier runway trends to pull off for the everyday woman. This is true, because it is a classic look and almost every woman has a piece of clothing that is white or black.

If you want to try to fit in with this fashion trend and keep it modern, then opt for pieces of clothing that are both black and white instead of layering a black and white piece. Fashion designers are really getting into this trend making dresses, shirts, handbags and even shoes that are black and white.

You can keep this look more casual, like this black and white shirt from Paul Smith or you can go for a night on the town look with this Just Cavalli dress. This fashion trend is one that will work for both casual and dressier occasions.

If you are not liking the patterns of the black and white look, then you can always achieve this look using the separates. Pair a black blouse with a white belt. Or take the black blouse and pair it with a pair of white trousers and a white scarf. You can even incorporate this look with your jewelry. If you find that you are wearing all black, try a beaded white necklace or look for a necklace or bracelet that is black and white.

The black and white fashion trend is one that will be a classic style, so you don't have to worry about spending some money on your clothing or accessories and only wearing them for a couple of months. Instead, splurge on a great piece that will have you ranking high on the fashion meter and you can strut your stuff like you are on the runways.

Celebrity Gossip: Dating Secrets of Twilight Stars

May 4, 2009 by Kelly H.

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner...just hearing the names has teenage boys and girls (and some of their moms) swooning. Since taking the leading roles in the film adaption of *Stephenie Meyer*'s Twilight series, Pattinson, Steward and Lautner have suddenly been thrust into the celebrity limelight. Along with the recent release of the film Twilight on DVD, it's upcoming release on Blu-Ray, and the filming of New Moon, the second book in the four book series, these popular celebrities have been busy lately. But many a teenager still wants to know: are they making time for a personal life?

Twilight star Robert Pattinson, who plays the vampire lead Edward Cullen, has been the object of much dating speculation in recent months. Rumors have swirled around the 23 year old Pattinson and his dating habits. Unfortunately for him (though fortunately for Pattinson's fan base) the star is still single and keeping busy with work. In a recent interview with People Magazine, co-star Kristen Stewart de-bunked rumors that she and Pattinson were dating. He also told interviewers in December that he wasn't currently out searching for a girlfriend. Breathe easy girls, Robert Pattinson isn't taken just yet.

Rumors around Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are twice as funny when you realize that Stewart is already spoken for. Stewart has been dating Michael Angarano since 2007 and the couple are still spotted together when their schedules allow. Though the couple are together, she was seen celebrating her 19th birthday with co-stars recently, as the day coincided with the filming of New Moon.

After Pattinson and Stewart, fans are swooning for Taylor Lautner, who plays Jacob Black in the Twilight film series. Lautner, just 16 years old, has been seen out and about in society lately, mostly socializing with co-stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, as well as Nikki Reed. Luckily for fans, it appears that Lautner, like Pattinson, hasn't been spoken for just yet.

These Twilight stars are expected to stay in the spotlight over the next few months as they finish filming New Moon and look forward to Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. Hopefully Kristen Stewart's relationship with Michael Angarano will continue to flourish, and Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner will find someone who strikes their fancy.

Staying Fashionable in a Recession: Neutrals and Classics

Mar 12, 2009 by Lindsay W.

How many times have we heard fashion gurus say, "Pink (or brown, or green, or red, or whatever) is the new black!"? Too many to count. In these tough financial times, however, filling up your closet with the new "it" color each season doesn't make a lot of sense. Buying baby doll dresses and micro-minis just because they're in doesn't either. Fortunately, there is a better way!

Each season, some color always gets referred to as the "new black" - that's because black never goes out of style and looks great with everything (same goes for other neutrals, like beige, white, off-white, dark brown and navy). Building your base wardrobe in neutral colors is a great way to ensure that you never get caught wearing last season's pink trench coat when orange is this season's black.

Neutrals are boring, though - right? Well, they can be. However, they make a great blank slate for you to decorate with trendier pieces, colors and accessories. For instance, a plain white blouse can be paired with a scarf in this season's hottest color, a funky necklace or even adorned with a skinny belt. Also, wearing neutral pants allows you to show off your inner fashionista with fabulous, colorful shoes, boots and stockings. These accessories can be purchased very inexpensively and can keep your basic wardrobe au courant while keeping your wallet full!

Classic styles are another area to focus on. Turtleneck sweaters, crisp white blouses, mid-rise dress slacks, A-line skirts and boot-cut jeans are always in style, so base your wardrobe on these staples. Also, instead of kowtowing to every trend that comes along, figure out what looks best on your body and stick with it.

When you do want to try out a trendier piece, purchase something inexpensive or borrow it from a friend before committing a big chunk of change to something you may only wear once. If something in a "trendy" style truly looks amazing on you, don't worry about wearing it after the trend has passed - if it looks great, it won't look dated. Another plus - you can wait until classics go on sale to buy them, since, by definition, they never go out of style!

Celebrity Gossip: Madonna takes her Sons to NYC!

Feb 20, 2009 by Tiffany B.

It appears that Britney Spears is trying to get rid of the drama in her life for good. She has filed restraining orders against her ex-manager Sam Lufti and paparazzi-turned ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib. A source close to Britney told TMZ.com that Britney asked her father, who is the conservator of her estate, to protect her from Lufti and Ghalib, because she is afraid of them. She also hopes that both of them will be sent to jail for trying to take over her affairs and her money. Both of the men have been trying to get in touch with Britney even after her father took over as her conservator. The temporary restraining order now restricts Lufti and Ghalib from contacting Britney, her parents or her sons. The hearing is set for February 23. Hopefully this is Britney Spears getting the negative out of her life, and she can make her full comeback to a regular, sane person.

Singer Amy Winehouse got some bad news while she was vacationing in St. Lucia in the Caribbean. Her home in London was robbed. The burglars took guitars and music recording equipment from her house. Her neighbors are the ones that spotted the robbers and called the police, which arrived to find the front door kicked in. No arrests have been made.

Madonna will be taking her sons to New York City to live for right now. A London judge has given temporary permission to Madonna to take her sons, Rocco and David, to live with her in New York. Madonna's lawyers argued that the boys should not be separated from their mother and their sister, Lourdes, who is Madonna's daughter with Carlos Leon. The Evening Standard reports that the boys will most likely be going to school in the U.S. but will also split time with their father, Guy Ritchie, in London. Madonna and her family have lived in London for the past 8 years with Ritchie. This is going to be a big adjustment for the poor boys. Having to go back and forth from New York to London all the time. I really feel sorry for them, because when they live with their mom, she will be off smooching with younger men instead of spending time with them.

What not to Wear: Valentine's Day Fashion

Feb 20, 2009 by Stephanie Modkins

His name was David and I was intrigued by him. Why? Everything about David was perfect to me from his mind, style and swagger. As a result, when Valentine's Day rolled around, I wanted everything to be perfect. The only problem was I didn't know what to wear.

Not knowing what to wear on Valentine's Day is a common problem for most women. Even the most fashion savvy woman can get confused on this holiday. It has a lot to do with jitters and not knowing what the night holds. What should a gal do in order to look good on one of the most romantic days of the year? Here are a few tips:

Tip #1: Go with a splash of red
Forget about looking like a big red apple unless red is TRULY your color. Wear a red blouse, red rose or pair of red pumps. Then, mix it all in with other less bright colors. The red you wear should only accentuate your look - not overpower it.

Tip #2: Stay true to your dating style
If you and your beau go bowling every Saturday night, don't dress up in a ballroom gown on Valentine's Day. Unless you both plan on going out to a fancy dinner, stick to your usual dating style. Make whatever you wear special by spraying on a bit of perfume or wearing a red heart pin.

Tip #3: Keep it simple if you do dress up
Ever heard of the expression "too much of a good thing"? Meditate on it as you pick out your outfit for Valentine's Day. Outfits that include lots of hearts or red polka dots coupled with matching earrings and shoes look ridiculous. Therefore, select one signature piece to honor the day and keep everything else low key.

If you use these three tips, you will look fabulous on Valentine's Day. As for me, my Valentine's Day dilemma was solved with a snappy jean outfit and red t-shirt. It looked great together. Plus, David really loved it, which is all that really mattered anyway.

Celebrity Gossip: SI Swimsuit Models in Vegas!

Feb 18, 2009 by Stephanie Sims

The Sports Illustrated swimsuit models came to Vegas to walk a red carpet straight into LAX nightclub to celebrate the issue. The SI models arrived February 11 on the SI One, a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 wrapped in an SI swimsuit issue image of cover model Bar Refaeli. She said that she found out her image would be on the airplane before she knew she would be the cover girl for Sports Illustrated.

"I saw the plane and thought, 'It can't be that I'm on the plane and the cover,'" Refaeli said. "I thought that they chose someone else to be on cover and me to be on the plane."

She said she found out when her agent called her into his office for an audition. When she arrived, they slowly opened the door to reveal a large image of her on the cover of the magazine.

There were camera crews inside the office, and still, Refaeli thought it was a joke and could not believe she had made the cover.

"It was a terrible surprise," she joked. "If I weren't young, I would have had a heart attack."

Refaeli is not only the cover model for the issue but also the first Israeli cover model.

"It makes it that much more exciting," she said.

The models weren't the only visitors to Vegas - Chris Brown escaped to the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino after his recent arrest for allegedly assaulting Rihanna. Brown reportedly checked in on Wednesday, February 11, and left sometime Thursday, February 12, according to E Online. The 19-year-old R&B singer holed up in an eighth floor suite and then left to meet with his mother, Joyce Hawkins. Since then, Brown has been hard to pin down - as has Rihanna, and there are no reports of her whereabouts.

From scandal to scrutiny, Jessica Simpson, who has been in the tabloids of late for allegedly gaining weight, is still going strong with boyfriend Tony Romo. According to People.com, the pair planned something romantic for Valentine's Day in Rochester, NY. Simpson opened for Rascal Flatts there.

What Not to Wear: Trapped in a Fashion Time Warp?

Feb 13, 2009 by Stephanie Modkins

We used to call him "Mr. 1980's." Who? Me and the other folks at my old job. "Mr. 1980's" was our boss and from head to toe, he emulated everything that was fashionable in the year 1980. (Bill Cosby sweaters and all.) The only problem with this was that it was 2003!

It's been a while since I've seen my old boss, but one thing is for sure - he isn't the only person in America trapped in a fashion time warp. This trap is a common one that many people fall into, which keeps them looking old and out of step. If you're in a similar trap, you are sporting clothes that make you look like a perfect candidate for the TV show "What NOT to Wear." So, it's time for a change. Check out the following statements and rethink your wardrobe if you say any of them on a regular basis.

"Purple is my favorite color."
Yes. Purple is your favorite color, which is why people call you "Barney" and "Grape Ape" behind your back. It's time to expand the colors in your closet and break up the monotony. Understand that every color in a rainbow is beautiful and it's okay to wear more than one of them on your back.

"I can't find anything to wear in the store."
Really? Today, there are stores that cater to every size, shape and budget. So, there really isn't any excuse for you to walk around looking like a mess. If you hate to shop, get online and buy your clothes. You can kill two birds with one stone. You can find the clothes you like to wear with just the push of a button and avoid the crowds in the mall at the same time.

"I'm still the same size I was in high school."
No you're not. You are two sizes bigger, and you know it. Be honest with yourself and buy larger clothes. Your clothes will hang better, and you will finally be able to get rid of the elastic lines across your stomach. Also, clothes that fit tend to make you look smaller - and we all know you're the kind of person who doesn't want to look fat.

Did you see yourself in any of these statements? If so, change your words and clothes and then step into a more fashionable future.

Celebrity Gossip: Spice Girl gets Married, Cast of the The Wrestler Get Close

Feb 13, 2009 by Tiffany B.

Former Spice Girl, Geri Halliwell is engaged after only dating the guy for one month. Halliwell just split from her boyfriend in December and is now engaged to another man. His name is Fabrizio Politi, and he is a yacht tycoon in Italy. According to reps for Halliwell, "There are no immediate plans for marriage as the couple is enjoying their engagement." Geri Halliwell also has a 2-year-old daughter, whose father is neither her ex-boyfriend nor her fiancé. All I have to say is she gets around pretty good. I mean why not marry this guy, he's rich and she doesn't have a job anymore.

It seems that we will be seeing much more of The City's Whitney Port. The Hollywood Reporter states that MTV has renewed The City for another year, even though the show is not getting good ratings. I don't know if anybody out there watches it, but I have only watched The City once, and Whitney shows no emotion. Her facial expressions are always the same, and it just seems like she is doing a bad job at acting on the show, even though it's supposed to be reality.

In slightly disturbing celebrity news, Evan Rachel Wood, who used to date Marilyn Manson, has now been romantically linked with actor Mickey Rourke. The couple attended a SAG awards after party together and were seen making out with each other before heading off to a hotel room together. Wood is 21 years old, and Rourke is 56 years old. Worst of all, Rourke played Evan Rachel Wood's father in the movie The Wrestler, which is how they met. I have to say that for how pretty Evan Rachel Wood is, she has some weird taste in men.
