Floral prints were seen all over the fashion runways from the summer 2009 collections. From big and bold floral patterns to small and delicate floral prints, flowers were everywhere you looked from dresses and blouses to even on handbags. Floral prints are not that difficult to wear, it just takes knowing what looks best on your body and wear it to the best of your fashion ability.

Summer is the best time for floral prints to come out. When you think of summer, you think of flowers blooming and color everywhere. It's refreshing to see flowers in the summer and that goes for clothing as well.

There are all types of floral prints. Some are very large and bold and others are small and feminine. The patterns can have several different colors or it could be simple with only two colors. The possibilities are quite endless for floral prints right now. If you look at any fashion designer's runway show for summer 2009, you will see a variety of different floral patterns just in one collection.

So, how do you know what is going to work on you and what will flatter your body? First of all, if you are not comfortable in loud colors or in something that draws attention to you, then you are definitely going to want to go for more of a subdued pattern with not as many colors. If you have a larger frame and you don't want to draw attention to areas of your body that you are not happy showing off, then you will not want to have big and loud floral patterns in these areas. You may choose a simple dress that only has flowers at the bottom or at the neckline, so that you don't attract attention to possible trouble spots like your stomach, hips, or butt.

If you want to show your body off or you want to add curves, you can go for the bigger floral prints that cover your entire body. Choose sundresses that have large flowers all over them in a variety of colors. Or even a black dress that has a large flower near the waistline.

Remember that floral patterns are not just for dresses. You can wear flowers on blouses, handbags, shoes and skirts.

Celebrities are seeing flowers, flowers and more flowers. It appears that flowers are still a major celebrity fashion trend for the spring season. As we go into the spring, we are seeing more and more celebrities wearing floral prints on dresses, blouses and even coats.

Celebrities seem to be experimenting with floral clothing. Women are popping up all over the red carpet wearing floral prints and patterns, be it small or big. Eva Mendes was a big hit in her 50's inspired black dress that had colorful flowers all over the bottom of it. The black dress had large yellow, red and white flowers on the skirt if it, giving the dress a pop of color and also some personality.

On the other hand, Jennifer Aniston chose to keep her floral print small and all-over. Aniston was seen wearing a grayish-blue floral print dress to the premiere of her movie "Marley and Me" in Paris. Even Aniston, who has seemed to be pretty colorless in all black lately, ditched the black and decided to sport the latest trend of color and floral. She kept the smaller floral print modern by the shape and fit of her dress.

Some other celebrities that have been seen following this fashion trend: Millia Jovovich who wore a floral patterned blouse to a Hollywood event. Drew Barrymore wore a floral print shift dress to an event. Scarlett Johansson opted to wear a long dress that had a large floral print pattern on it to her movie premiere.

Floral prints are definitely here to stay for awhile. They can be young and flirty if they are done right. If you are looking to follow this celebrity fashion trend, be sure to pick modern floral prints, like this one by Robert Rodriguez, to avoid looking like you raided your grandmother's closet. Keep the look modern with a girly twist and you can rock the flowers like celebrities do.

Celebrity Style: Because Prints aren't Plain

It seems like prints are here to stay for celebrities. There are several different prints that all of Hollywood has been wearing. On everything from dresses to even shoes, prints are definitely in this season as a celebrity fashion trend.

Celebrities are sporting one surprising print: plaid. Now, you may think of the old, plaid, flannel shirts that are popular with lumberjacks, but this is an updated plaid look. The key to wearing plaid is including some sort of feminine touch. It should not look like you borrowed your boyfriend's old flannel. Vanessa Hudgens was a great example of this trend when she wore a fitted plaid dress that showed off her curves. Other celebrities indulging in the plaid trend are Lauren Conrad and Ellen Pompeo. If you are not sure about wearing plaid, start off small and wear a plaid scarf with your jeans and tee. You also may want to avoid the plaid mini-skirt, as you may give off the trampy school-girl look.

A not-so-surprising print that is popular with celebrities is a sophisticated floral. Floral prints are still in style for the fall, but you have to choose the right print. The floral prints for fall are richer and deeper in color, such as purples and dark pinks. Kristen Davis and Reese Witherspoon have worn floral dresses, which were feminine and flirty. If you are not comfortable wearing a whole floral dress, opt for a shirt or even a floral silk scarf. Floral clothing pieces are a great way to show off your feminine side and keep things light going into fall. Celebrity designer Roberto Cavalli has been designing for this trend. He made both dresses and blouses in sophisticated floral patterns, which celebrities have worn. With this celebrity trend, you want to avoid any floral patterns that look like baby or little girl attire. Make sure your floral pattern is sophisticated and modern.
