Celebrity Gossip: Jon & Kate Plus 8 Show May be Over

Oct 14, 2009 by Rebecca White-Glanders

The supermodel who has it all has decided to take on one more thing - her husband Seal's last name. Nearly four years after they wed, Heidi Klum has filed a petition to changer her last name from Klum to Samuel (Seal's official last name). It's a good thing tradition only calls for taking the last name - *Seal*'s full name is Seal Henry Olusegun Olumide Adeola Samuel! Klum, 36, is due with her fourth child, a girl, later this month. Including the new arrival, she and Seal have three children. Seal, 46, is also the adoptive father of her daughter Leni, age 5.

It's always good when you can laugh at yourself - or, at least, let other people do it for you. Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt are allegedly okay with the fact that "Wishful Drinking" - a Broadway play starring Carrie Fisher - closely mimics their own contentious split. Fisher claims the play is actually autobiographical, and was written about her father's split with her mother, Debbie Reynolds, for Elizabeth Taylor. However, when Fisher realized how closely it resembled Pitt and Aniston's situation, she was sure to check with Pitt to make sure he wouldn't be offended.

The Jon & Kate Plus 8 train gets further and further off track every day and this week is no exception. It's been a busy one - Jon was fired by TLC from Jon & Kate Plus 8 due to his womanizing and erratic behavior in recent weeks. He immediately initiated legal action to stop filming of the show at the family home until the matter could go to Court. Jon, who has previously said the show was not harmful to the kids, decided that it was harmful as soon as he was cut out. According to Kate, who appeared distraught in a television appearance, he then withdrew all but $1,000.00 from their joint account of $231,000.00 - leaving her without enough money to pay the bills. She also said the children screamed and cried when she told them the show would not be filming anymore. Apparently, Jon Gosselin hasn't much forethought. Without the show, he has eight children to support and no job.

Celebrity Gossip: Heidi Klum Plans to Change Last Name

Oct 12, 2009 by Tiffany B

Apparently Heidi Klum finally wants to have the same last name as her husband and 3 of her 4 kids. She filed name change documents with the L.A. County Superior Court to have her last name officially changed to Samuel, which is the last name of her husband Seal Henry Olusegun Olumide Adelo Samuel. The name change will not be official until a judge signs off on it sometime in November. So, will she still go by Heidi Klum as a professional name or will she change everything to Heidi Samuel?

I don't know one woman who would like the fact that their husband cheated on them with their leading lady and then the leading lady proceeded to move into her life. Well, that is what seems to be happening to Brandi Glanville who is the soon-to-be ex-wife of actor Eddie Cibrian. Cibrian and LeAnn Rimes first started their affair when they were both married and filming a Lifetime movie together. Cibrian filed for divorce in August and has been seen a lot with Rimes, who has since separated from her husband. According to Brandi though, LeAnn is getting a little too close for comfort. She told UsMagazine.com, "I have a new neighbor and her name is LeAnn Rimes. She's moved in a half a mile from my house and a block from my son's school. So she is completely space invading me at the moment so things are not cool." She added that her run-ins with the country singer/actress are "not pleasant." She also went on to say, "Honestly, she's Single White Female-ing me. She wants my life. She wants my kids. She wants my husband. She can have most of everything but just not my children or my family." Brandi says that her and Eddie play nice in front of their children as "they're the most important thing in both of our lives." If this is true, then this is definitely a little freaky for LeAnn Rimes to be doing this. I mean she split up their marriage, isn't that enough?

Celebrity Style: Classic Looks

Apr 7, 2009 by Tiffany B.

There are a couple of classic celebrity fashion trends that seem to never go out of style. In fact, these fashion trends are classic looks for just about anybody.

The first classic celebrity fashion trend is the black pencil skirt. There is no way that you can go wrong with a black pencil skirt. You can go for the professional look and pair it with a fitted blouse that you tuck in like Jessica Alba did. Or you can go a little bit sexier and pair it with a low-cut top like Lindsay Lohan did. A variation on this classic fashion trend is to choose a pencil skirt that has a really high waist, tuck in the shirt and put a wide belt around the waist. This is the most popular way celebrities are wearing this fashion trend now.

Another classic celebrity fashion trend is tweed trousers. Some people may think of tweed trousers for older woman, but that is not the case. Tweed trousers can be sophisticated but also add some style to a boring outfit. Celebrities such as Katie Holmes and Liv Tyler have been spotted a couple of times wearing tweed trousers, and they are not old. They make the pants look stylish yet put together. They key to wearing tweed trousers is to keep the look young. Make sure the trousers fit well and pair them with a stylish top or jacket. Add some funky jewelry to glam up the outfit.

Lastly, printed blouses are another classic celebrity fashion trend. The print on the blouse can be anything from floral to polka dots, like this one from Just Cavalli. The main thing to remember with this fashion trend is to only wear the print on the blouse and pair it with something simple on the bottom like black dress pants or jeans. Choose a feminine blouse that adds some charm to your outfit. Celebrities such as Heidi Klum, Vanessa Hudgens and Nicole Kidman are big supporters of printed blouses.

Celebrity Style: Award Shows

Mar 17, 2009 by Tiffany B.

It appears that color is the fashion trend for celebrities and their award shows. Celebrities have been hitting the red carpet, wearing all kinds of different colors. They seem to be kicking off the spring season with fresh blooms of color.

The Golden Globe Awards was full of color as celebrities stepped out on the red carpet. In fact, red was a popular color with celebrities like Eva Longoria Parker, Kyra Sedgwick and Julia Ormond. Other colors that dominated at the Golden Globes were the arrays of the color blue. Jennifer Morrison, Mary Louise-Parker, January Jones, Anne Hathaway and Blake Lively all wore gowns that were shades of blue.

Color ran rampant at the Grammy Awards, which are known for being a little formal. For the Grammy's, it appeared that multi-colored and patterned frocks were in. Rihanna, LeAnn Rimes and Paris Hilton all wore dresses that were multi-colored. While other celebrities such as Katy Perry and LeToya Luckett chose shades of pink for the red carpet.

The colors galore continued into Oscar night. It seemed once again red was a very popular color for the event. Amy Adams, Guliana Rancic, Heidi Klum and Virginia Madsen all donned red gowns for the event. Another popular color at the Oscars was purple, which was worn by Lisa Rinna, Alicia Keys and Natalie Portman.

Wearing color is the easiest celebrity fashion trend to follow. You may be following it right now and may not even realize it. Simply add some color into your wardrobe with shades of blue, red, purple, green and pink. Try to stay away from wearing all neutral colors like white, black, cream, tan and brown. You can even go a little more daring and try a multi-colored top like this one from Just Cavalli. This celebrity fashion trend is full of endless possibilities.

Dec 30, 2008 by Tiffany B

Sparkle, sparkle and more sparkle. That is what celebrities are wearing this season. From everything from a sparkling cocktail dress to a sparkling cocktail ring can be seen on the women of Hollywood. With the holiday party season among us, it seems that celebrities are once again setting the fashion trends with sparkling jewelry, accessories and clothes.

If you are heading out to a holiday party and you want to shine and stand out, do what celebrities like Ashley Tisdale, Beyonce, Jennifer Connelly and Heidi Klum do when stepping out and wear a sparkling cocktail dress that will draw the attention of everybody. When wearing your sparkling cocktail dress, remember that you want to look appropriate for the type of party or event you are going to and that you want to wear a dress that is modern and doesn't look like you just stepped out of the 80's. Keep your sparkling dress to a modern and sleek fit.

If you want to be more subdued this holiday season, you can still sparkle like the celebrities and keep it modest. Look for sparkling jewelry to add some drama to your outfit. Look for big chandelier earrings, layered necklaces, bracelet cuffs and bangles. Another way that you can add some sparkle to your outfit is to pair it with a great belt. Adding a sparkling belt adds just enough to an outfit to keep it trendy and hip. One of the celebrities' favorites for belts is Alexander McQueen. They are hip, trendy and add some drama to your outfit just like celebrities do.

There are a couple of other ways that you can add some sparkle to your outfit. Look for metallic colored shoes that shine. Add a beaded or sequined clutch or small handbag to complete your outfit and add just a hint of sparkle. There are quite a few ways that you can add sparkle to your holiday outfits this season, you just have to be creative like the celebrities.

Celebrity Style: Handbags, Little Black Dresses, and Liquid Latex Leggings

Dec 2, 2008 by Tiffany B.

Follow the latest celebrity fashion trend by carrying about a handbag that makes a statement. This can mean a large tote handbag or even a smaller handbag that is a bold color, has beads or has a bold print. This season celebrities are letting their handbags speak for themselves. Choose a large, red, striped handbag like Blake Lively was seen carrying. Or you can go with a beautiful clutch that is covered in metallic sequins like the one by Be & D. This is actually one of the more doable celebrity fashion trends to follow because there are plenty of statement handbags that you can buy. Also, you don't have to be worried about it drawing as much attention to you as a statement top would. It's a more subtle statement.

Every woman knows that you can't go wrong with the little black dress. Well, celebrities are no exception on this one. You can find a little black dress popping up on every red carpet in Hollywood. Such celebrities as Charlize Theron, Kelly Ripa, Jennifer Aniston, Heidi Klum and Reese Witherspoon have all worn the little black dress and done it with style. When looking for your little black dress, look towards the celebrity style and find one that stands out a little bit. Maybe it's belted at the waist with a gold belt or has pleating in the front. Making your little black dress a little more interesting is a great way to stand out and still fit in at every event. This is a great time of year, with Christmas parties and events coming up, to invest in your little black dress.

One celebrity fashion trend that may take some more guts to pull off is the liquid latex leggings. These leggings appear as if they have been basically glued on to your legs. They appear to be leather but are actually latex. Celebrities such as Rihanna, Kate Moss, Lauren Conrad and Alicia Keys have all been rocking these leggings. But beware; these leggings are not for the ordinary, everyday person. They are for the person who wants to be noticed and get attention!

Celebrity Fashion: Peep Toes, Leather Jackets and Studs

Oct 21, 2008 by Tiffany B

Even though it's into the fall season, many celebrities are still seen wearing sandals and peep-toe pumps. Peep-toe pumps are all the rage on the red carpet now. From plain peep-toe pumps to ones with embellishments and flowers on them, the shoes can be seen all over the feet of the famous woman in Hollywood. Such celebrities as Kim Kardashian, Tori Spelling, Jennifer Hudson, Paris Hilton, Jennifer Lopez, Charlize Theron and Halle Berry love wearing peep-toe pumps on the red carpet and to special events. These celebrities love the peep-toe pumps by designer Missoni. Actually, peep-to-pumps are a great show for the fall season. They add a little drama to the shoe but still are appropriate for the colder weather. One thing to remember when wearing the shoes is to never wear pantyhose with them, which allows you to see the end of the pantyhose where the toes show.

The cropped leather jacket is another huge fashion trend right now with the female celebrities. Such celebrities as Heidi Klum, Joy Bryant, Miley Cyrus and Rachel Bilson have all rocked out in the cropped leather jacket. Despite what you may think, the jacket can be worn with more clothing than just jeans. A cropped leather jacket can be worn with a cute casual dress, a pair of trousers, or you can go all out rocker and wear it with a pair of leggings. It makes a great alternative to a plain, fall jacket. Just stay away from wearing the leather jacket with leather pants; you might end up looking like you belong in a motorcycle bar.

For a quick update to your wardrobe, try what many celebrities are doing and add a studded handbag to your outfit. A studded handbag can jazz up an outfit and add some quick style to an otherwise boring outfit. Rihanna has been seen carrying around several different studded handbags. The girls on the television show Gossip Girl also have been sporting some studded handbags around the set. The handbags make a great accessory and everyone will be asking where you got that cool handbag from!

Project Runway's Finale Showdown at NY Fashion Week

Jun 12, 2008 by Nancy L.

The most anticipated fashion show of the year has got to be Project Runway's Season Five grand finale, slated for New York Fashion Week in the big tent in Bryant Park (some time between September 5-12-the actual shows haven't been scheduled yet but they like to leave Project Runway for the very last day).

Project Runway has been sold to the Lifetime network, and some Runway fans fear it's the end of the world as we know it, with such rumored modifications to the show as a move to L.A., new sponsors and possibly even changes on the judge's panel (we're happy to report that the last rumor turned out to be unfounded, and the next generation of Runway designers will still get to live in fear of boring Nina Garcia ).

However, due to a contractual obligation, the producers of Runway are being forced to put on one more season for Bravo, which means Lifetime won't get the show until Season 6, slated to start airing in November. This means that 2008 will feature an unprecedented three seasons of Project Runway-that' s a lot of fashion shows! But while that's good news for us diehard fans, Season 5, which will begin airing in July, is the last classic Project Runway season.

Project Runway stars are so numerous at New York Fashion Week fashion shows you can trip over them-I met Tim Gunn last September and Laura Bennett this past February, and I'm happy to report both of them were even lovelier in person than on TV, and Tim Gunn approved of the outfit I was wearing, which solved my self-esteem issues for all eternity. This just heightens anticipation for the finale fashion show. Who gets to show at Project Runway's fashion show is one of the most closely guarded secrets of Fashion Week, so much so that the producers use decoys.

What are decoys? Designers who have been eliminated at the time of the live Project Runway fashion show, but who are still appearing as contestants on the episodes that are airing due to the lag in air time. Rather than have every blogger in the world post the real finalists from their cell phones, and contrary to what Heidi Klum is seen saying to the losers on television, ALL of the last five or six finalists get to show at New York Fashion Week, although it's true that the ones who have already been eliminated get a lower budget. No one outside of the show knows who they are, though, so the press reviews them as equals. Maybe having the pressure of the contest off does wonders for the also-rans' creativity, because in previous years, non-contenders such as Kara Janx of Season Three have garnered the most critical acclaim.

Photos of all the designers showing at the Project Runway finale fashion show end up on the Internet within minutes of the curtain call, and this past February, though I suspected he was a decoy and ended up being correct, my favorite collection was that of Chris March, even though some of his Gothic touches like trimming his clothing with real human hair were kind of creepy. I can't wait to see what the Season Five designers come up with for Project Runway's final finale for Bravo.
