Beauty Tips: Freshen Up After a Long Night Out

When you're recovering from a bachelorette party or a weekend getaway with some gal pals, keeping your skin looking fresh and radiant might seem like mission impossible. Fortunately, there are some simple makeup tricks that can do away with those puffy eyes, dark circles and sagging skin!

To get rid of dark circles, use a light peach colored or yellow-base foundation (depending on your skin color) directly under the eyes and let it dry for at least five minutes. Use your pinkie finger or a small cotton swab to gently blend the concealer into your skin, and then dab your foundation over it. You should be able to achieve a flawless finish with this simple technique.

When you want to brighten up a ruddy complexion, use a light shimmering powder or a bronzer over your foundation. The trick to making this look as natural as possible is to wait until your foundation is completely dry before you apply the final dusting of loose powder. Applying it wet will leave you with clumps and create a very artificial effect. Make sure you're applying the right color of foundation for your skin tone. If your face is washed out, you might need to go a shade lighter for the day. Blending a darker and a lighter shade can also work to keep that final finish looking natural.

Brighten up that smile with a dark red or bright red lipstick, instead of a nude or pink lip color. A bright-colored lipstick will draw attention to your pout and may even encourage you to smile more. Use one that contains emollients and moisturizers if your lips are especially dehydrated after your long night out.

When you need to brighten up your eyes, use a light-colored eyeshadow and contrast it with black mascara and black eye liner. Light-colored eyeshadow will draw attention up and make even the sleepiest-looking eyes much bigger and brighter. If you are heading out early in the day, consider using a white-colored eye pencil only on the lower rims of your eyes for an even better eye-enlarging effect.

Practice some simple makeup techniques so that you can always look your best. These simple beauty tricks will help you look fresh and rejuvenated, even after a long night out on the town!

Eye makeup often takes a back seat during beach season because summer means lightening up the makeup load and sticking with a more natural, sun-kissed look. However, that doesn't mean you need to cut out the Hollywood-inspired, glamorous looks once in a while. There are several lightweight eye makeup products that will add some sparkle to your look without going overboard.

If you're a girl-on-the-go, make sure you have a stash of liquid-to-powder shadow by your side. Stila's Silk Eye Wash is a great way to add some shimmer to your eyes and brows, and will highlight your best assets in a flash. It's easy to apply, and will even withstand those high summer temps.

Look like you've been living at the resort all summer with a touch of bronze, gold and rich brown eyeshadows. You can layer these colors for a bronze-goddess inspired look by night, and choose just one or two for a touch of color to the lids by day. The Stila Eye Shadow Trio is the perfect set for getting all three shades in one step, and can be applied wet or dry depending on the intensity of color you want to create.

Give your eyes a Bollywood touch this season with a rich-pigment shade that will last all day long. Global Goddess I Divine Eyeshadow is infused with white tea to give your eye area a boost of antioxidants, and the shadow goes on super smooth. The rich color inspired by the Far East will give you a sultry, exotic and oh-so-glamorous look for the season.

When you want to add a hint of color to your lids this season, stick with light fuschia, plum and pink shades. These colors will warm up that tan and work well for almost all eye colors. Plus, you can layer them with a gold or beige base for an extra pop of color.

Wearing eye makeup isn't a beauty 'don't' for summer, as long as you're using the right products and wearing the right shades. Glamify your makeup bag with a few of these must-haves for a summer makeover with an exotic twist!
