Celebrity Style Mashup: In Her Shoes - Cameron Diaz and Milla Jovovich

Cameron Diaz best look is also her most natural look. She can do casual and dress down and still look incredible. Cameron Diaz's true glamour can be seen the best when she tosses her hair up into a messy ponytail, brushes on some bronzer and pale lip gloss. A pair of low-riding colored jeans with a white or blush pink t-shirt is all she needs. For fun, add pretty pink toes, a pedicure and flip-flops, designer bag and sunglasses.

When Cameron Diaz does dress for the red carpet, she can sometimes look like a little girl that raided her mommy's wardrobe. Her body can meld with any outfit, whether it's a designer gown or a pair of jeans. Sometimes when she's on the red carpet she looks like she has too much make up on. She may not, in reality, or in comparison to other stars, but all that cake detracts from her natural beauty.

She looks best when she looks like she just got back from the beach or a run. Her natural style is casual and down-to-earth, in contrast to the more quirky style of Milla Jovovich.

Milla Jovovich
As a model and actress, Milla Jovovich is a blank palette. She wears cut-out clothes well, as she did in The Fifth Element. Straps and strips of clothing suit her model physique. Layered fabric with altered hem lines, a pair of boots and some bold hair and make up bring her to video game character mode. There is nothing she could wear in a movie or out in public that would not seem believable.

Milla Jovovich dresses without being self-conscious of her body, whether she's wearing a cropped leather jacket that bares her midriff, or a if she's wearing a bathing suit for a magazine cover. On fashion covers, she can sometimes be seen pulling off a softer, more Cameron Diaz look, but when it comes to Milla and fashion, anything goes.

Easy Fashion Tips: Thigh High Boots

Sep 17, 2009 by Yissel C.

Last year, our feet couldn't get enough of ankle booties. This fall however, boots reach new heights, surpassing the ankle and stretching as far as over the knee. Seen all over the fall 2009 runways, these boots are designed with heels, flats and in stocking-like styles. To ensure this trend looks more haute couture, below are three ways to wear these thigh high boots right.

If you're planning on wearing shorts with you're over the knee boots, make sure they are boyfriend cut or a loose fitting pair. Avoid tight shorts or cut-offs, these will only give you that look we want to steer clear of. For a daytime look, rock a pair of over the knee flats like the Report Makee with ruched details. Then take your look from day to night, by throwing on a chic blazer and changing into a sexy pair of heels like Stuart Weitzman's Buckley buckle detailed thigh high boots.

Over the knee boots and skinny jeans seem to be the perfect pairing. For a rocker glam look, wear your favorite dark wash skinny jeans with a cool pair of wedged over the knee boots. Suede boots with detailed ruching adds the right contrast to differentiate between boots and jeans. Stuart Weitzman Sidezip boots are an amazing pair of suede boots, featuring an exposed side zipper (which we all know is a great ongoing trend for fall). Complete the look with a great fall scarf and cropped leather jacket.

If leggings are more your style (or just simply more comfortable) a shiny pair of leather thigh high boots are a great match. The Jessica Simpson Tulip slouched boot is not only attractive and affordable, but offered in five great colors. A printed tunic worn over your leggings and boots will give you a sexy bohemian look that's trend worthy for this fall.

Celebrity Style: The Skinny on Jeans

Mar 31, 2009 by Tiffany B

It appears that celebrities are still keeping the skinny jeans around. This is no passing fashion trend. Stars are still rocking out in their skinny jeans. I guess when you are a size 0, you can keep this fashion trend going and not worry about how you look. The newest trend with the skinny jeans are gray colored skinny jeans. So many celebrities have been now spotted wearing gray skinny jeans, usually with a white top. Jessica Alba was just photographed the other day in her gray skinny jeans paired with a white tee and yellow flats. The other color for skinny jeans that looks to be in fashion with celebrities is white. Now, white skinny jeans may be one of the hardest looks to pull off, but celebrities seem to be doing it just fine. The key is to find balance on the top. Get a pair of white skinny jeans, like these from Just Cavalli and pair them with a blousy top. Don't go with the tight top if you are going with the tight jeans. Instead, think about a flowy top paired with high heels. This is an easier look to pull of for the average girl.

Another trend in the jean department are the ripped and shredded jeans. Yes, these are back in style, especially with casually dressed celebrities. Katie Holmes, Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie, Megan Fox, and Lindsay Lohan have all been spotted wearing ripped and shredded jeans within the past couple of weeks. Now, these ripped jeans can also be skinny jeans. They can be boot cut jeans or even flare legged jeans. The key to this fashion trend is basically that they look, ripped, worn, or shredded on the legs. And yes, if you have looked online for jeans or at any store, they make them this way and you don't have to do it yourself. This is definitely a casual look and is not made for going nicer places such as on dates or nights out on the town. Leave this look for casual shopping trips and runs to Starbucks.

Clothing Rules: Cleaning out the Closet

Feb 21, 2009 by Stephanie Modkins

Most people do it in spring, but I like to do it in January. What is it? Clean out my closet.
I like to go through my closet and toss out or donate all of those clothing items that I either don't wear or shouldn't wear any more. There are fashion no-no's that don't deserve space - at least, in my space. Here's a list of my top three. Follow my lead and you can make room for more fashionable attire.

Excessively Tight Clothes
Forget about convincing yourself that you'll fit into those skinny jeans. Even if your New Year's Resolution comes true, you'll still only be able to fit a thigh into them. Let them go and move on to better and BIGGER pants.

Ripped or Holey Attire
Both men and women have a tendency to hold onto ripped or holey clothing. I'll just have to call you both out. Men, it's time to toss out that dingy, torn cotton shirt you wear on Saturday mornings. Replace it with a fresh new one that doesn't expose your nipples. Women, throw away those worn, holey underwear. You can purchase ones that are just as comfy with w-o-r-k-i-n-g elastic.

Fashion Misses You Bought Anyway
When you saw that $15 shirt in the store, you couldn't believe the price! You couldn't wait to buy it. However, on the long drive home you instinctively knew you made a mistake. You've been holding onto it ever since with the hopes of wearing it on a rainy day. Let it go. You bought a fashion miss that needs to be extracted from your closet.

Now that you know the three categories, don't dilly-dally! Pull out two big trash bags and face up to your responsibilities. Use one for items you plan on donating to charity and the other for the items that you plan on throwing away. Afterward, with all of the room in your closet, you can rush out and buy your first fashion "yes" of 2009.

Clothing and Body Types: Twiggy?

Nov 14, 2008 by Stephanie Modkins

Remember Twiggy? In the 60's, she made having a stick-thin figure popular. As a result, women everywhere learned how to eat celery, fit into sweat pants and strap in all of their natural curves. It explains the painful look on some of those old pictures of your grandma. Thankfully, this trend faded away, and now you rarely hear about Twiggy except in old movies or on America's Top Model. Yet this icon must be given credit for leaving behind a legacy that can still help women today. What is it? Twiggy taught us all how women with boyish figures should dress.

Let's face it. Our DNA has more to do with our hip size than we'd like to think. For this reason, if you have a boyish figure - one that is slight and lacks curves - you can't do much about it. I don't care how many hotdogs and fattening shakes you consume. So, it's best just to wear clothes that accentuate your form and help you look good. Here are a few tips.

Add curves by . . .

  • wearing patterns like plaids, tweeds and polka dots.

  • dressing in ruffles that add curves and shape to your body.

Flaunt your own natural curves by . . .

  • falling in love with spaghetti straps that show off your neckline and shoulders.

These clothing items are just a few that can help add curves and dimension to a boyish figure. They are an instant fix for a gal who would look like a teenage boy if she threw on a pair of overalls and a baseball cap. Since you don't want to be her, wear these suggested clothing items. They will make you look great and more feminine.

Celebrity Fashion: Skinny Jeans, Newsboy Hats, Rocker Tees

Oct 12, 2008 by Tiffany B.

Skinny jeans aren't just for women. No, skinny jeans and pants have caught on with celebrity men also. The rocker-type men seem to be sporting tighter and tighter pants these days. Such celebrities as Pete Wentz, all of the Jonas Brothers, Zac Efron and Johnny Depp have all been seen sporting skinny jeans for men. Now, the skinny jean is not for all men. In fact, I know a lot of men who say that they will never wear a skinny jean, but some of those celebrities look awfully good in their skinny jeans. One designer that the celebrities like for his skinny jeans is Moschino. And the best thing about this designer's jeans is that they are actually affordable to the non-celebrity men who dare to wear skinny jeans.

While rocking the skinny jeans, the celebrity men also love to wear newsboy hats. Most people have seen Brad Pitt sporting this type of hat before. Other celebrities such as Justin Timberlake, George Clooney, Samuel L. Jackson and Jason Lee have also worn newsboy hats around Hollywood. They offer a unique style for a guy and can help accessorize his outfit. George Clooney has been seen wearing a Dolce and Gabbana newsboy hat several times, and I have to say that, for an older guy, he still looks good in it. When sporting a newsboy hat, stick to a neutral color like black or gray.

Let's stay on the topic of celebrity men and talk about rocker tees. So many celebrity men are spotted wearing what appears to be old and faded rocker tees. But, in reality, the tees that they wear are probably new and quite expensive. Many designers are making T-shirts for men that look like old rocker tees or graphic tees from years ago. This gives the guy a little edge and makes him look almost like he doesn't care what he looks like, except for the fact that the T-shirt probably cost over $100.

So, what is the perfect outfit for the celebrity man nowadays? The skinny jeans, the newsboy hat and the rocker tee. Put that together with a gorgeous man, and you have a sight for sore eyes!
