This morning we had some new decorations on the front door and also throughout the office. I'm talking about the colorful paper fish with words and slogans written on them.

So that's the fish part. Now about the eggs in the basket below - these are hollow plastic Easter eggs. Each one has someone's name inside. The eggs are left at random on desks and the recepients will go find the people named in the egg and introduce themselves. So at Zappos, eggs are icebreakers. It's really great that we're doing this because we've been growing so fast, there are new faces every day and it's really hard to keep up.

It seems these ideas were hatched in our Merchandising Assistant 1 class after they read the book Fish! shown above. Way to go MA1, way to go!

Well the fur is flying at Zappos today! I got a tipoff (thanks CG!) that we had a gorilla in a conference room. So I trot down with me trusty camera and yeppers, one petite female wearing a Gorilla mask. She was actually typing quite intently until I stuck my camera into the room.

Now this is not just another case of Pink Gorilla fever and it is not as random as you'd guess. You see we have a row of desks here called "jungle row" - so this actually makes Perfect Zense!

More fun than a barrel of monkeys! Hang in there, Pink Gorilla dude will be back!

Oh some people were up to no good yesterday! In our Outdoor Performance group, we have a coworker (lets call her Karen) with a fur stole on her desk - it's been in the family for generations. Well some comedic geniuses decided to run some monofilament line from the stole to a remote location. The idea being when she came in and sat at her desk, they'd pull the line and the stole would move.
