Not exactly PI as in Product Info from the picnic yesterday, but also pi, the numerical constant, the ratio between the circumference and diameter of a circle, commonly known as 3.14. Well, today is March 14th or 3/14 - pi day! Turns out we have some seriously numerical and mathematical people at Zappos. Here's Daisy, one of our Merchandise Planning Analysts who is quite the pi enthusiast.
Let's see, a cherry "pi" in one hand, 3.14 in a pie slice on her t-shirt and a pizza "pi", borrowed from the lunch room, in the other hand. We pi/e fiends were quite amused and impressed that pizza was served today - normally Friday is a soup, salad and sandwich day.
But wait, there's more! We had a load of pies, fruit, cookies, cream, and many other things floating around the office, so we made "PI Day Smoothies" with some of them. Below is a picture of the ingredients for the cherry pie smoothie.
We also made a Dutch Apple pie smoothies. Which was better? Apples and Oranges baby! Do you have any pi day stories to share?
