Three Ply Birthdays

We had 3 birthdays in Creative Services today. Happy Birthday Mayen, Jeff and Brian! It seems the TPing elves were busy last night. Yep, looks like they were on a roll…of toilet paper that is. Here’s one of the 3 desks that were so adorned. (yeah, we used more than 1 roll - as the only 6 footer in the room at the time, i did the ceiling work.)

Here are 2 of our 3 giant pizzas. 30" baby!

And here’s the Brian K, Mr. Argyle, getting serenaded by a giant tomato. You can't make this stuff up!

Most "Canny" Birthday Decor

Last Friday was Chrissie's Birthday and like all Birthdays here in Finance
we decorated her desk in a very crazy way, this time we added something a
little out of the ordinary!

http://blogs.zappos.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/1549/Desk.jpg

Why cans you ask? Chrissie's desk is in a location that gets a lot of
foot traffic and visitors who stop to chat. When those visitors stop and talk
they usually set their can down on the top of Chrissie's cubicle wall and for
some reason the can is left there. When Chrissie realizes the can is still
there it is usually long after the visitor has gone. Most times the soda is
left unopened and still cold. Nobody knows why or who likes to leave their unopened
sodas at her desk and it drives her crazy. So Patrick (The mastermind) decided
to collect as many cans as he could to terrorize decorate Chrissie’s
desk.

Spirit Week & Face Signs

Our Customer Loyalty Team is holding Spirit Week starting today. Monday is Pajama Day so there was a lot of flannel, some spandex and a bit of lace B-) in the building. PJ Day is just laidback, casual comfortable fun. And it gives you a chance to share your funny slipper collection with others. Ah, after all our Core Value #3 is “Create Fun and A Little Weirdness.”

Also one of the CLT managers had a birthday today so someone whipped up a bunch of “face signs” - basically you print out pictures of that person’s face and attach them to wooden tongue depressors. This picture has both a PJ assortment and a nice array of face signs. Happy Birthday Rob!

Tomorrow is Sports Day so I’ll be on the prowl for a nice multi-team picture.

S'mores Birthday Party!

Hey, tabletop s'mores! What a fabulous idea. This lovely gathering was held yesterday in our lunch room to celebrate Caron's birthday. (She's in the green and white. That's Ashley sitting next to her - next week, I'll share with you how Ashley got the nickname "JoJo." :-) ) Caron is a wealth of knowledge about the Zillions of products Zappos sells, I go to her often with questions and she's always got the answers.

Here's a closeup of the little grill that could.

We had a leap year birthday here at Zappos HQ. Jaime is 6 years old today! Here she is blowing the candles out on her Birthday Chicken Pot Pie! Jamie was also recently promoted to Web Producer! That's what the blue star candle is for.

Happy Leap Year Birthday!

Pirate Beaver Boa Rubber Chicken Birthday

Okay so birthday celebrations are serious business at Zappos.com.

Streamers, balloons, glitter, all kinds of decorations and pranks are pulled when it’s your birthday. This young fellow, quite new to Zappos but jumping with both feet, exemplified the Zappos Tradition. Somebody supplied him with a rubber chicken and some others made both a beaver tail and a beaver mask. I am not sure where the pirate hat and the feather boa came from and Scout’s Honor, I was afraid to ask.
