Everyone knows that Zappos is all about customer service. Well our true heroes behind our grand customer service reputation is our wonderful Customer Loyalty Team, thus, we've thrown a whole week of fun filled festivities in their honor.

Today we celebrated Customer Loyalty Week by having the managers from all departments BBQ delicious hamburgers, cheeseburgers, veggieburgers, and hot dogs for all the employees here at the Zappos Headquarters. Way to serve, Managers!

And, because Zappos likes to mix fun and a little weirdness into everything we do, we brought a dunk tank to the BBQ. That's right - a dunk tank, manned with Zappos volunteers brave enough to get dunked for half an hour straight. We charged one dollar for three throws and all the proceeds went to the Arthritis Foundation (the same orginization as last week's bake sale). We were able to raise over $200 and a good amount of laughs!

For today's installment of Things on My Desk, we visit with Customer Loyalty Team Member Stacy H.. When she isn't slaving away at the phones in CLT to deliver the WoW to our customers, she collects ducks. We're talking a lot of rubber ducks, people. If there was a legal limit, she surpassed it many a moon ago.

For every Customer Loyalty Training class here at Zappos, there is always a graduation, and it is always a sight to be seen! Each class, in their last week, chooses a theme and creates a cheer, in which they present in a parade around the office! It's Zappos tradition, and it's a blast always.

At Zappos, one of our Ten Core Values is Building a Positive Team and Family Spirit, and our wonderful CLT department is an excellent example of how it can be applied and make coming to work a joy!

The latest class had a football theme and had their diploma ceremony upstairs in the 2280 Building...below is a video of how it all went down.

Our CLT members are the true voice of Zappos when it comes to our customers. While we are unable to service our customers face-to-face, I started thinking it would be nice to put a face with a name and a voice! Ricki M. from the Comfort CLT business unit was kind enough to participate in a short Q & A. Please find her responses below:



Question: What are a few of the exciting things you have done this summer?

Ricki: "I'm hoping I haven't done them yet."

Question: What do you do to relax?

Ricki: "Read, play video games, visit casinos to play slot machines, and sometimes Bingo. Basically, I spend my life in front of one terminal or another."

Question: What is the craziest question you have been asked by a customer?

Ricki: "Four years ago, I was on vacation in Florida and I went into this little shoe store somewhere south of Miami. They had these shoes that were pink with a bow on top. Do you have them?"

Question: What is your favorite thing to watch during the summer Olympics?

Ricki: "HGTV on another channel"

Question: What are your top 5 favorite songs currently?

Ricki: "I'm a huge jazz fan, so it's never the song, but the rendition, that makes it a favorite, or not a favorite."

Question: What is your favorite Core Value (and why)?

Ricki: "Deliver WOW Through Service. If we didn't have that one, there'd be little reason for the other nine."

Question: What is your favorite part about working for Zappos?

Ricki: "The relaxed atmosphere, lack of drama, friendly people, and the ability to do what it takes to make the customers happy."

When the going tough, the tough get snacking. At least, that's what Aria does. She reaches over to her drawer and looks for her favorite snack. There are many choices, but what would you choose?



This started as a prank where some fiendish fiends (great description, yeah?) went around the lunch room and collected every snack that was randomly on tables and elsewhere. They filled Aria's desk to the brim and now she has a veritable store house 2 feet away. Please be aware that by now, most, if not all, the food in this drawer has expired and may not be that good for you. Was it good for you to begin with? Mmmmmm.....I'm hungry either way ;)
