Zappos CLT Recognizes Employees with Pandy Award

May 7, 2009 by Jason C.

The Zappos.com Customer Loyalty Team is always looking for ways to better serve the customers. One of the most important things they do, is to make sure they are always available to answer any customer questions, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In order to do this, they need the right amount of people here at all times. Last year, the CLT scheduling team came up with the "Pandy" award as a way to recognize all members of the CLT team who had perfect attendance.

Each month, the CLT members with perfect attendance receive the Pandy award, along with additional benefits, depending on how many consecutive months they have received it.

They started the Pandy award in January 2008, and there are 30 CLT representatives that have a current streak of perfect attendance for one year or longer. Their longest current streak is held by Jean D., who is currently at 28 months of perfect attendance (started even before the award existed).

Here are the CLT members with a current streak of one year or longer:
Jean D., Anna C., Crystal M., Elissa S., Elsie F., Laura R., Peri G., Quintaye P., Rebekah F., Sharon R., Stacy H., Tami L., Jennifer M., John D., Susan J., Candace S., Eleni D., Eric P., Grace H., Lacey J., Monfredo M., Thomas S., Irene V., Kathy H., Krystle G., Lauren A., Rosario S., David J., Joyce E., Mark G.

Congratulations to everyone on a job well done.

One of the ways our Customer Loyalty Team here at Zappos likes to "WOW" our customers is by connecting with them personally through handwritten cards. Let Candace C. in CLT explain how this is done.

In December, Zapponians Unite on the Phones!

Dec 3, 2008 by Brett H.

Every year in December, all Zapponians, regardless of their department, are asked to put their Customer Loyalty Training to good use and help out on the phones for the busy holiday season.

Every Zappos employee, regardless of what position they were hired for, goes through an intense, four-week program that trains them on the art of Customer Loyalty at Zappos, and in December of every year, those skills are put to use! This is the busiest month for those kings and queens of the phones in CLT, and they can always use a little help.

Employees in every department are asked to volunteer for two hour blocks to help out, and the schedule is filling up fast. Thanks for helping out Zapponians....Zapponians!

Zappettes BIG GIG....Singers for Hire!

Newly formed in-house Zappos singing crew, the Zappettes gave CFO, Alfred, a harmonious birthday greeting today. They sang two special songs before he entered the Dunk Tank for today's customer service week festivities. You can now hire the lovely and talented Zappettes, Alane, Liz and Kathleen to send a special someone not only a birthday sing-o-gram, but a singing telegram for any special occasion or even just because. All proceeds go to the Zappos sponsored charity of the month.

Meet Ricki M. from our Comfort CLT Business Unit!

Our CLT members are the true voice of Zappos when it comes to our customers. While we are unable to service our customers face-to-face, I started thinking it would be nice to put a face with a name and a voice! Ricki M. from the Comfort CLT business unit was kind enough to participate in a short Q & A. Please find her responses below:

http://blogs.zappos.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/38-2721-2344/rickie00250.jpg

Question: What are a few of the exciting things you have done this summer?

Ricki: "I'm hoping I haven't done them yet."

Question: What do you do to relax?

Ricki: "Read, play video games, visit casinos to play slot machines, and sometimes Bingo. Basically, I spend my life in front of one terminal or another."

Question: What is the craziest question you have been asked by a customer?

Ricki: "Four years ago, I was on vacation in Florida and I went into this little shoe store somewhere south of Miami. They had these shoes that were pink with a bow on top. Do you have them?"

Question: What is your favorite thing to watch during the summer Olympics?

Ricki: "HGTV on another channel"

Question: What are your top 5 favorite songs currently?

Ricki: "I'm a huge jazz fan, so it's never the song, but the rendition, that makes it a favorite, or not a favorite."

Question: What is your favorite Core Value (and why)?

Ricki: "Deliver WOW Through Service. If we didn't have that one, there'd be little reason for the other nine."

Question: What is your favorite part about working for Zappos?

Ricki: "The relaxed atmosphere, lack of drama, friendly people, and the ability to do what it takes to make the customers happy."

Do you have any questions for Ricki or any of our other CLT members? Comment below!

Fresh and Easy.. Incubation Update!

May 27, 2008 by Jim G.

Last week, we had account from Derek F., our inside man in Zappos CLT Incubation, check out his first installment here. We hear from Derek again this week, deep in the trenches and nearing the end of one of the most exciting times for any new CLT member. Take it away, good sir!

Well, the time has come! We are in our final days of Incubation, and then on to the floor of CLT land! I think I speak for most people when I say that Incubation has prepared us for the floor in a way that is much better than just throwing us right on the phones and letting us sink or swim.

With that said, I am happy to say that all of us in Incubation passed the final exam with flying colors, and all of our final QA's were very good. We have all gotten our team assignments and we have met with our new leads, and after our graduation pot luck tomorrow, we move to our new desks. I think that we will compliment our new teams nicely. All in all, it looks as though we have all progressed to where we can all one day be superstars within CLT, and I know that makes our Incubation Leads proud to be a part of that.

My lead, Abbie, helped me get from a point of frustration to a great place where I can grow and learn and be the best there is on the floor. She was able to help me set goals that were improved on with each quality assessment and she even busted out the Post-its with all kinds of tips on them to help me remember everything that I had forgotten to mention to customers. Those little things helped me get past my learning curve.

Incubation for us comes to end tomorrow and we are going to enjoy our graduation with a little trip to the Mini Grand Prix tonight and a graduation pot luck tomorrow. Goodbye Incubation, you are gone, but not forgotten. We have finally grown up...

_Congratulations to all of our new CLT members! Rock on! _
