We are always proud to be a part of the Zappos Family, but last week when our very own Zappettes sang the National Anthem at the Corporate Challenge opening Ceremonies, we were prouder than ever! The Zappettes were chosen in a Corporate Challenge "Idol" contest from a pool of several other Las Vegas Participants. Lets give it up for Liz G. , Kathleen J. and Alane C.! When are you gals going on tour?
I know what you all are thinking, I too wish I had as many talents as the great Miss Kathleen J.
Kathleen has been knitting since she was just a wee one, and with the winter chill around us, she has been knitting up a storm for friends, family, small dogs, charity, you name.... it she's knitting for them. Kathleen has been kind enough to teach co-workers (myself being one of them) how to knit in her spare time. So if knitting has been something you've always wanted to learn how to do, ask Kathleen, she'll make you a knitting pro in no time.
Sometimes we need to let other Zapponians do the talking around here, which is why our beloved Kathleen J. is doing the honors of hosting Zapponian Of The Day for us today.
Today's Zapponian Of The Day is the darling Ashley M., Merchandise Planning Analyst 1 and renowned world traveler.
One of the members of the Zappettes had to sit out this round (or should have, but instead decided to sing happy birthday to herself) because It's Kathleen J.'s Special Day!
Happy Birthday Kathleen. Now you are officially overexposed on the Inside Zappos Blogs, but we don't care because we like ya!
Hope your day was full of Birthday wishes, bundt cakes and unicorns!
Nothing puts a little Zappos in our day quite like the Merengue. It's true. Just the other day, Stephanie R. was pleasantly surprised to walk around the corner to a beautifully organic and full of life Merengue dance performance. Well, it really wasn't a performance, but the ever so beautiful Kathleen J. and the always suave Rudy R. we're so in sync with their Latin dance moves that one would think they've done this hundreds of times. Stephanie R., as well as many others, was so touched by this that the mere thought still puts a glow on her face.
Thanks Kathleen and Rudy for dancing the warm fuzzies into our hearts!
(Since we didn't have a tape of the original heart warming Merengue dancing session, we kindly asked them to reenact the event. Lucky for us, they were kind enough to do so.)
That's right, a horrible thing has happened here at the Zappos.com HQ. Elvis Stitch, (as in Lilo and Stitch) the action figure has been taken from Kathleen J's desk! First of all, it really is a serious issue when things go missing from co-workers desks. Most of us (including myself) like to kidnap things from others from time to time...but once the laugh is over, give it back.
Here at Zappos we keep fun things on our desk because we can, and our culture encourages it. So please...just like we all learned in Kindergarten, keep your hands on your desk, and your desk only. (Unless you taking something from someone's desk brings about a serious laugh and possibly a fun CSI to go with it.)
