At the beginning of the month, Ros S. decided to celebrate her friend Lucille the Ball's 4th birthday with a contest to guess her weight. Four years ago, Ros was given the idea for making a name badge ball from a guest that was visiting Zappos. He had just been to another office that had a large rubber band ball (we have our own giant rubber band ball at our Kentucky warehouse), and thought it would be funny if we did something with the name badges we give to each guest that visits Zappos.

Four years later, Lucille is still growing strong. She is now an astounding 13.4 pounds, and 41 inches round. Many participated in guessing Lucille's weight, and Ros has chosen the four closest entries as winners!

Here are the four Winners:
Keith G. - 13.4 pounds (yes, he guessed the exact weight).
Maria E. - 13.5 pounds
Shauna S. - 13.5 Pounds
Stacy H. - 13 pounds

Guess what...Lucille's weight!

Over the past five years every visitor that has passed through the Zappos headquarters has left their sticker badge behind and all of those stickers formed our beloved badge ball in front of the 2280 building named Lucille. Lucille was created by our very own Rosalind S. and with her help and determination Lucille grew into the massive sticker ball that she is today. Just by looking at the circular mass of visitor passes, you can clearly see that we've had an insanely large amount of people to come through in the last few years!

In celebration of Lucille's 4th birthday, the help desk is holding a competition to see who can guess the weight Lucille will be on August 31st. It's only a week away, so if you would like to win a super awesome prize, head on over to the help desk and start guessing!

Thank you Roz and all of our visitors for keeping Lucille going. I'm excited to see what she'll look like 4 years from now.
