Last week a music legend visited Zappos for 3 1/2 hours! Gladys and William Knight-McDowell came by on Wednesday afternoon and our CEO, Tony Hsieh gave them the full tour. She signed autographs for everyone and thrilled hundreds of fans! She commented on the warmth and camaraderie here and she strives to maintain the same family atmosphere in both her musical group and her restaurants.
In this picture, she has just seen her name tag and picture (just like all our employees have) over Clarissa's desk. Clarissa is one of our graphic designers and so Gladys proceeded to do some graphics work on the tablet and computer. We are proud to report that Gladys is now an Honorary Zappos Graphic Designer and she has a standing job offer at Zappos!
She also recorded a phone greeting for us and we'll definitely let you know when that goes live later this week. Gladys Knight will be performing at the Orleans Showroom on April 11-13 and her entire band will be wearing shoes from Zappos! One never knows what wonderful surprises a new day at Zappos brings.
