Okay, after the Hall of Records, we turn the corner and come to where the Fashion Team (aka "Eileen's People" more on Eileen later! <evil laughter>) sits. That's Terra waving to us! Wave back everybody!

That's Shanda sitting on the ball chair. I have a funny video of her pumping it up. I wonder if she'll let me share it with you?

Here's the next aisle over. They have a mannequin too.

They were kind of shy so I'll just mention that this mannequin is wearing a hippie poncho and a hat - well let's let these people get back to work!

Oooh, the inner lobby! I was hoping I could use the word "anteroom" but it looks like I blew my chance on Day 2.



So here's what you're looking at from right to left - Mike's backside as he goes up the stairs to the 2nd floor, a low bookshelf with more books to read, a surprised Missy at the door (I'm notorious for that), a taller bookshelf and a white board listing birthdays, Zappos employment anniversaries and other announcements. The actual inner lobby is on the other side of the double glass doors where Missy is standing. You can see someone waiting for the elevator to the left. Now the righthand side, that's where this blog post's "Fun and a little wierd" is located. Tadaah!



We actually have a shoeshine bench complete with a skeletal pirate. (on the right) John (on the left) hefts a sword and bandana. Some of the other details in the picture - on the right is our dry cleaning pickup rack and on the left is a pair of water fountains. Contrary to popular opinion, only water comes out of these fountains - this isn't a Chocolate Factory. And at the upper left is the cat sign for Felix, our shine guy who comes in a couple of times a week.

Hey, so today we'll start a virtual tour of Zappos in Las Vegas. Several days a week, we'll share a picture or two and some tidbits. And after we're done here, it's off to Kentucky to see the action out there.

Early one morning, I caught one of our Marketing people on her way in and asked her to pose for a picture. We don't have the balloon arch every day - hardly ever actually so I am pretty happy how this picture came out. It got windy soon after and most of the balloons popped or went flying away.

Zappos HQ is in a fairly new office complex. We currently occupy 2 buildings. We also have our 3 outlet stores. The outside is fairly generic but wait till you see inside! You can see our golf cart shuttle for hauling stuff between buildings. We also have a little red wagoon. I crack up everytime I see it. We're going to have the golf cart decorated soon - pictures will follow! So that's Day 1!
