Monkey Row!

If you've had a chance to take take a peek at our Core Values, toured our Offices or Warehouse, or seen any of our Videos, you already know Zappos is unlike any other company. We filmed this video to show to our New Hire groups when Tony, Fred and Alfred are out of the office. Although I wish it was used more, I'm happy to say that Alfred, Tony and Fred have yet to miss an opportunity to talk to a new hire class since the video was made more than 6 months ago!

Her new book "I Love You More Than My Dog" is all about companies that use Customer Service as a tool to gain and retain customers. Tony tells Jeanne how the Zappos Core Values came about, and how they have helped to drive and amplify the Zappos culture.

Zappos Haunted House!

Nov 3, 2009 by Jason C.

Halloween is one of the most fun times of the year at Zappos, because everyone goes out of their way to make the entire week one big event. The finale of the week is the Zappos haunted house. Each year Zappos turns part of the office into a giant haunted house, and invites employees children, vendors and other visitors to take part in the festivities. Thank you everyone who helped make the entire week long event a big success.

Worst Halloween Costume!

Oct 30, 2009 by Jason C.

Remember the year your mom didn't want to spend money on a costume, so she made on by hand that you were so embarrassed to wear. How about that costume you just had to have of your favorite teen idol.

Almost everyone has memories of that one bad costume. We went around the Zappos office and asked, "What was your worst Halloween costume?"

We definitely enjoy our coworkers at Zappos, but we enjoy pranking them just as much! Corey S. shows us that they can't all be zingers, and that good things come to those who wait. Why wait until halloween night to start scaring people? Support your local prankster!

Zappos CLT Graduates Newest Class from Incubation!

Oct 23, 2009 by Jason C.

This week the Customer Loyalty Team graduated the newest class into the call center from incubation. Right after the initial four week new hire training class, all new members to the customer loyalty team go through a three week incubation period. During this time, they go through more training on policies and procedures, and gain the necessary skills needed to give our customers the very best service possible.

This training period also gives new employees a chance to learn and be a part of the Zappos culture. Here are some of the newest graduates talking about what their experience has been like at Zappos since they started.

HR goes to a game show

Oct 20, 2009 by J P W

Last week our HR team dressed up in costumes ranging in everything from Bananas to Hot Dogs. I insisted on taking their picture and found out immediately after that they were headed for a team outing. I could understand hanging out in the office dressed like that, but in Public? "No no, we're going to be on a game show, you're supposed to dress up" one of them said.

While I can't tell you which game show they were on, I can tell you who they are.

Oktoberfest at Zappos

Oct 9, 2009 by Jason C.

The first week of October is national Customer Service Week. Each year during this time, Zappos plans a lot of fun activities to recognize employees for a job well done. To kick off customer service week, we had an Oktoberfest carnival here at the Zappos office. With carnival games and some great tasting food, this was a great start to an entire week of fun.

Each day this week, we are going to have some fun and exciting things going on around the Zappos office. More craziness to come...

Woodstock Revived at Zappos in KY

Oct 8, 2009 by Michele K

As usual for Zappos; expect the unexpected …. on August 12 and 13th we were invaded by Hippies who all seemed to be looking for Woodstock.

So we made Woodstock happen, from the Volkswagen beetle to Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin blaring on the Zafe Speakers. Team members really stepped up to show their hippie style from Bell bottoms to Tie Dye shirts. We even saw a pair of Hot pink Platform Boots in Pack/Ship.

KYCT set up to take photos of our Hippies in the FC. Each team that wanted their photo taken contributed $1 for the Zinny jar (which goes to charity) and some gave more than the $1…..just because!

Thank you to everyone who helped out to make this happen.
