Friday morning, they officially relaunched the DresSport, their dress shoe that is truly as light and comfortable as an athletic shoe. We've been talking about the HR team's big game show outing for the past few weeks, and last Wednesday we had a viewing party. Here's a little video and interview we put together that we feel is an excellent representation of our culture, and Core Value #7.

Remember the year your mom didn't want to spend money on a costume, so she made on by hand that you were so embarrassed to wear. How about that costume you just had to have of your favorite teen idol.

Almost everyone has memories of that one bad costume. We went around the Zappos office and asked, "What was your worst Halloween costume?"

What do you get when you mix a Kiss fan with a Pumpkin carving session? Well, 9 times out of 10 you will get a pumpkin with Kiss makeup on it. As a fan of the rock 'n' roll bands of the 70s, I have a deep appreciation for anything Classic Rock. I have to say I am definitely impressed with Ray's take on a classic design that's been around several years longer than I have! Rock on Ray Ray!

It's officially peak season here at the Zappos Fulfillment Center, and peak season= craziness. But of course we have some AWESOME Zapponians that will step up and get the job done. We want to highlight our rockin' Receiving Department and all of their hard work as they kick off the peak season. They truly are superheroes. Great job you guys!

Jeanne Bliss is the Author of the new book "I Love You More Than My Dog" and is also known throughout the retail world as the queen of Customer Loyalty. Not too many people can say they helped 5 of America's hugest companies bring their customer service to such a level that they are now known for providing some of the greatest customer experiences in the industry.

In this Video Jeanne speaks with our COO/CFO Alfred Lin, and asks about the special mixture of service and culture that is Zappos.com. Alfred also touches on recruiting the very best people, and what it means to be a good culture fit within the company.

This past Sunday our team of Zapponians from the FC came together to walk for a great cause. We took part in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K Walk in Louisville, KY on Sunday, October 25th. It was a great time and our team raised $1,130!!! Way to go team!

Thank you to all who took part in this event.

This past Saturday was "Make a Difference Day," where millions around the world volunteer and help others. The Goodie Two Shoes Foundation is an organization that provides disadvantaged children with new shoes and other supplies that they cannot afford. Goodie Two Shoes has several events throughout the year, but this is their annual event which is the largest of the year. During this year's event,
they gave shoes, socks and backpacks to over 1500 children in Las Vegas.

Goodie Two Shoes is a charity that Zappos has been working with to help provide shoes for their organization. Several Zappos employees volunteered at the event, as well as several hundred others from several companies throughout Las Vegas.

Zappos merchandising happy hours are always quite the party, let me tell ya. All the different lifestyle merch teams do skits, they celebrate the accomplishments of the teams for that quarter as well as individual accomplishments.

This past happy hour was a big day for Chris P. Not only did his performance team have outstanding numbers for the past quarter, but Chris was surprised with a promotion to Director of Performance. Chris has been at Zappos for five years, and not only has built a really strong team, but is someone who exemplifies what the core values are all about.

Congratulations Chris!

We definitely enjoy our coworkers at Zappos, but we enjoy pranking them just as much! Corey S. shows us that they can't all be zingers, and that good things come to those who wait. Why wait until halloween night to start scaring people? Support your local prankster!
