Carey Hart recently visited our Zappos.com office. Zappos sponsored an after party event for the Las Vegas Supercross at Carey's bar, Wasted Space, in the Hard Rock Casino. While he was here taking a tour, our performance team decided to pull their ping pong prank on him.

Carey also sat down and talked with Cat from our Rideshop about his clothing line and other projects he has coming up. Check out the interview here.

This week the Customer Loyalty Team graduated the newest class into the call center from incubation. Right after the initial four week new hire training class, all new members to the customer loyalty team go through a three week incubation period. During this time, they go through more training on policies and procedures, and gain the necessary skills needed to give our customers the very best service possible.

This training period also gives new employees a chance to learn and be a part of the Zappos culture. Here are some of the newest graduates talking about what their experience has been like at Zappos since they started.

Did you ever want to be a superhero when you grew up? Well, now that we've grown up we are ready to try it again!

Our awesome HR department gave us an open book quiz based on our new employee handbook, and if we scored 100% we received a Core Values Blanket. I don't know about you, but I don't go anywhere without MY Blankie. Thanks Human Resources for wowing us with warmth!

Donald J Pliner is known for making amazing footwear, handbags and accessories, but did you know he has been in retail for over 42 years?

When we heard Nicole Gruter and a few of her friends were traveling the country in a tea pot shaped van, we thought it was a must that they made a stop at Zappos.com. Nicole and her crew have been making stops in several states promoting relaxation time. When was the last time you made a pot of tea and sat down to enjoy it?

I know I am not alone when I say we have the most awesome Employee Handbook ever, yessir.

From the interviews of our Fulfillment Center and Monkey Row, to the breakdown of benefits and "How to Play Nice", the staff really outdid themselves. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this amazing extension of our culture!

Last week our HR team dressed up in costumes ranging in everything from Bananas to Hot Dogs. I insisted on taking their picture and found out immediately after that they were headed for a team outing. I could understand hanging out in the office dressed like that, but in Public? "No no, we're going to be on a game show, you're supposed to dress up" one of them said.

While I can't tell you which game show they were on, I can tell you who they are.

We have a great deal of admiration for our leaders at Zappos.com, so naturally we wanted to see how well they could get down on the dance floor. Maritza L and Jamie N of the Cruise ship team, as well as our very own Vanessa L. hosted this first annual event, and through crowd participation we picked the best dancer. I must say, this was undoubtedly one of the funnest events I've had the opportunity to blog about . Who was your favorite dancer? Comment below!

For the last 10 years, we've built several relationships with vendors and hope to build many, many more. We feel that this is not only one of the most important aspects of building a successful brand, but also one of the most enjoyable. We had a few minutes to speak with Donald J. Pliner and ask him what he likes most about doing business with Zappos.com.

This past weekend we had a rockin' good time at the KY FC Zappos Fall Festival. HR did a great job of putting this event together. The festival was at the zoo and we had food, slammin' music, a baking contest, inflatables, and tons of other family-friendly activities. We loved it and had a great time. Thank you, HR!

September 24th marked our 2 year anniversary of our 6PM acquisition from Ebags. 6Pm sits upstairs in our main headquarters with their own Customer Service, Design, Merchandising as well as several other dedicated departments that work strictly on 6Pm projects. The 6Pm team invited all of us up to their area for Hot Dogs and Rockband, as well as 6PM trivia. Noel C. tells us more about this week's birthday festivities!

In honor of Customer Service Week, our Cruise Ship team organized many good time events, but none, from a personal standpoint of this reporter, were as exciting as the madness below. Yes, folks, it's a petting zoo.

Most folks would be surprised when they came into work and saw that nearly everyone in their Finance department forgot to get dressed for the day. That would not be the case if you worked at Zappos.com however. In the past year, there have been several PJ days, and it seems as though they are happening more and more frequently. I would not be the least bit surprised if there comes a time when we wear only PJ's to work. Except on Saturdays, of course. You gotta mix it up.

October 2 was National Livestrong Day, and at Zappos.com, we take that very seriously. Livestrong Day is an event created by the Lance Armstrong Foundation, which fights for the more than 28 million people around the world living with cancer.

We held a variety of events to celebrate, some of which were co-productions between the Kentucky Fulfillment Center and the Nevada Headquarters. To check out all of the Livestrong Action from the NV events, check out the video below, and stay tuned for even more from NV and KY.
