I know that when I go walking or mow the yard, I use only one earbud. I can still turn the music up as loud as I need to but can still hear things going on around me.

I absolutely love running (participating in track and cross country in H.S.) and you're so right!! I just started a new running routine in recent months to deal with stress and anxiety. It was definately hard starting out (sore muscles, out of breath, stomach pains) however, it's gotten a WHOLE lot easier. I've been pushing myself lately to run longer distances day by day. I'm hoping to run a marathon one day. Maybe I can write a blog about it. :-P

Whooooa. Oprah did NOT run in the NYC Marathon - she ran Washington DC's Marine Corps in 1994 (her first and last)! I think you are mixing her up with Katie Holmes, who ran last years' NYC Marathon, in 5:29.

That's a really good blog. I've tried and quit running so many times. It's nice to know that I am not the only one who's experienced those feelings about running. My only problem is that I give up too soon. I don't wait for the knee pain to pass. Maybe I will give it one more shot.
