Zappos Blogs: How To
Hi, my name is Shanda! Halloween is fast approaching and I'd like to show you how to do fake injuries to spruce up your Halloween costume. Now that we have a black eye, a busted lip, now all that's left to do is a bullet hole! To make a fake bullet hole, you're going to need the face crayons, the face makeup, fake blood and wax. To start off, we're going to use the wax. You're going to roll it in a ball and place it where you want it. And you're going to want it to be in a circle because bullets are circular. Bam! We got a circular wax whole. Take a black crayon and do a little circle. I like to take the back in and just kind of go like this. That creates the circle and it also creates a sort of creates the scab around the hole that you want. You can see that there's a little bit of a circle and kind of a scabbing line. Next we are going to use the red. Put some of the red paint of your applicator and dab it all around. This is sort of similar to the bruise, but we are going to do the red first because bullet holes are a little more red than they are bruisy. We are are going to add a little bit of the purple to just deepen it a bit. And a little bit of the brown. Not a lot! You just want a touch. Just a little contour. As you can see it's starting to bruise up. Since it's not getting the effect I want, I'm going to go back and use the sponge. I'm going to grab a little bit of red and a little bit of brown together. Sort of dab it on. Next I'm going to use a little bit of powder. You can buy this at Zappos. Sort of sprinkle it on. Give it more of a skin toney appearance. Next we are going to do the fake blood. You're going to want to dab it in the center and you want it to look like a circle. Then you'll want to do a drop of blood. And there you go! Fake bullet hole. Now that you know how to do the basics of a bruise, a cut and a bullet hole, you can pretty much do any injury! So if you're going to be a boxer, a dead prom queen, a fire fighter, anybody! You can use these basic tricks to do your fake injuries. Please have a fun and safe Halloween and I look forward to seeing you out there. Bye!
