Zoo York skater Chaz Ortiz got his first win of the year at the Salt Lake City Dew Tour stop after rocking it through qualifying on Thursday and holding it down in the top 3 through the semis on Saturday. His final run edged out fellow competitors Greg Lutzka and Ryan Sheckler, putting him in 2nd place in the overall standings. If he performs at the same level in Vegas October 14-16, he can win it all. Following the Vegas weekend, Ortiz will head out to Niagra Falls for West 49’s Take the Cake contest with Zoo York teammate Brandon Westgate. When Tryvann Vinterpark resort opens for the World Snowboarding Championships in Oslow, Norway in the winter of 2012 it will be sporting a huge expansion that just got approved by the Norwegian government.
