One of the most famous tour stops at Zappos is the CONFESSION BELL, where guests are free to make any kind of announcement or confession they want! There have been some crazy and wild confessions, but this one is the sweetest. Zappos guest Greg proposed to his girlfriend at the bell. She started with a confession, “I LOVE MY LIFE!” A great confession, but Greg’s topped that when he said, “WILL YOU MARRY ME?” We were all in shock to find out it was the real deal. We are so excited for them and happy that Zappos can share in their special moment! Congratulations!!!

In the spirit of giving this holiday season, Zappos will be hosting a Pet Supply Drive for our furry friends! All supplies will be going to The Animal Foundation of Las Vegas and all pet food donations will be given to Heaven Can Wait, a no kill animal safe haven.

The Pet Supply Drive will begin on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 and run through December 16, 2009. The donation bins will be in the lobby of the 2280 and 2290 buildings soon. If you would like to donate money, please feel free to drop any amount off with anyone in HR. We will use that money to buy supplies for the foundations. Every year we pull together to Wow an organization. This is our first time working with both of these foundations. Lets show them what Zappos is made of by delivering happiness to the animals in the Las Vegas area.

The Kid’s team came in to work Monday and found a plethora of different toilet tissue covering their area like a fresh snowfall. Upon going over and investigating, I found this may have been a retaliation effort by the clothing team. Apparently the clothing team was caught in the crossfire of a marshmallow gun attack , and inflicted a few minor injuries.

The Kid’s team was thankful for the fresh toilet tissue however, and stated,
“It is Flu season, and who couldn’t appreciate fresh toilet paper during flu season?”.

The Clothing team could not be reached for comment.

Have you ever been hanging out around the house and accidentally bump your head, arm or wrist? I most certainly have, and it usually happens when you have a busy week ahead of you. It was the week before christmas of 2007, and I was walking from my bathroom to my room in the dark, and hit my nose on a closet door that was left open. I immediately ran to the freezer and found a bag of hashbrowns to keep the swelling down. I was mad at myself for hitting my nose, especially since I knew I would be taking christmas pictures with my family later that week. I later noticed that it actually straightened my nose out, but took a while for the red mark to dissolve away.

Brian K. from the UX (User Experience) team had the same such luck after bumping his arm while doing some landscaping work over the weekend. I must say I was impressed by the use of popsicles to not only keep down the swelling, but also form a splint over the forearm. Well Played Bk, well played.

Do you hate coworkers with smelly feet? Melissa does, especially if the feet are salty!

If you are really good at it, we award you a C.O.W (cultivator of wow
award)

Number two, You’re in the drivers seat
Embracing change, we think is pretty neat!

Do you fit in with number three? please read on and you will see.

If you want to shave your head and have a race to grow a beard,
Then you’re creating a little fun and are hopefully a bit weird!

Be adventurous, creative and open minded as well, is number four, if
you can’t tell?

Now we are at the middle and it’s about keeping our brains fed,
Pursuing growth and learning, will help us stay ahead.

As for number six, we won’t keep you out of touch,
It’s open and honest communication, that will help us build our trust.

Team and family spirit is the next one to keep in mind.
With picnic’s and parties, where we all have a good time.

Doing more with less got us where we are today,
so, number eight is really great, making your idea’s our Way!

It’s number nine, I hear you determined to shout!!
And of course it’s the Passion, which is what we’re all about.

So now we reached the last one, what could we have left out??

We like to remember where we came from and how far we have to go,
