Aside from ice-cold lemonades, one of the things we seem to always reach for on those scorching summer days is denim shorts. It’s a good thing there are so many shorts trends worth showing off this season, from dip dye treatments to novelty prints to classic dark denim shorts.
There are an infinite number of possibilities when it comes to showing some leg this summer!
Check out some of our recent favorites in denim shorts:
One of the most essential foundations to any wardrobe is great-fitting basic jeans. These versatile closet superstars can be worn in tons of different outfits—from the most casual days with a white tee, to nights out with a sexy sheer blouse. The possibilities are endless!
Below are three of our must-have fits for every body type, along with the easiest-to-wear washes: standard blues (darker washes for dressier looks, lighter washes for daytime looks) and of course, basic black.
You can wear bootcut jeans with all sorts of shoes- from high heels to flip flops- depending on the length of the inseam. If your legs are on the shorter side, be wary of flares that are too wide, as they can make your legs look shorter. Opt for a slight flair below the knee and a close fit at the thighs.
These are a great halfway point between bootcuts and skinny jeans. Straight leg jeans lengthen the look of the leg, especially when worn with heels! We also love these with ballet flats. Just make sure the length of the inseam is to where it doesn’t gather at the bottom—this can make the jeans look sloppy.
Contrary to popular belief, almost any body type can wear skinny jeans. Just pay attention to the fit, particularly the level of stretch. Picking a darker wash can also give the illusion of a slimmer leg. If you’re on the petite side, pick a skinny jean with a mid to high rise to lengthen the look of your legs.
Inseam is also super important when picking skinny jeans. You want the hem to hit at or slightly above the ankle—unless you are doing a cropped skinny, in which case, you can go a little bit higher.
Signs of spring are all around us, not the least of which is color---lots of color. This welcome shift from neutrals to a more colorful palette is best explored in the wonderful world of denim. (Don’t worry neutrals, we still love you!)
Below is just a sampling of our latest colored denim to hit Zappos. We love them paired with neutral tops for a more subdued look or for some colorblocking action, try pairing them with a coordinating pop color up top!

White is a color that a lot of women find somewhat tricky to wear, yet when done right, can be utterly flattering. As we see the light at the end of the tunnel from a barrage of deep, dark fall colors, now is prime time to infuse a little pristine white into your wardrobe! It’s easier than you might think.

*Accessorize with splashes of white. Try a clutch, statement necklace or a wrap bracelet done in white stones.
* Winter white doesn’t just mean stark white! Opt for variations of egg shell, vanilla or light beige if you’re looking for something less bright.
* Play with textures. When going for a monochromatic look, add some interest with white pieces in rich fabrications such as wool, cashmere, chunky knits and faux fur. This gives lots of dimension to a head-to-toe white ensemble.
*Opposites attract. The timeless pairing of white and black can create bold drama to your look. Try pairing a white shift dress with a pair of patent black heels for a great juxtaposition of light and dark.
*White jeans tend to scare off a lot of women. The trick is getting the fit right. If your legs are on the thin side, go for a skinny or straight fit that hits at the ankle to create the illusion of shape. If you’ve got fuller legs, you can still rock a white jean, but opt for a wider leg or a boot cut to slim and lengthen your overall leg line.
From the star-studded Coachella in the Indio Valley, to Lollapalooza in Chicago, this spring and summer offers a huge variety of music festivals! Whether you’re going to a small local outdoor fest or a massive three-day long event, your outfits are just as important as scoring tickets in time.
Opt for breathable fabrics, flat shoes or sandals and layering to stay comfy as you dance the day away to some great music. Denim is always a great go-to option for music fests, whether you opt for denim shorts, boyfriend jeans or classic bootcuts.
We particurlarly love boho-inspired looks for music festivals--think crochet, fringe, maxi dresses, denim vests and cut off shorts.
We also suggest a nice crossbody bag for the ladies to keep both hands free for drinks, food and your camera!
