Gift Guide: Men's Holiday Musts

With Christmas only a week and a day away, time is not on your side to find him perfect holiday gift. Sure, you can still hit up the local department store for another unoriginal or unnecessary surprise, but that’s not going to score you any Brownie points.

As you’re frantically thinking of what to get, keep in mind that timeless fashion never goes out of style, and neither does Zappos' free one-business day shipping. This year I’d recommend bypassing the expensive razor and lavender shaving cream set and opt for one of these well-polished styles below. After all, the goal is to make him think you’ve put in more thought than you actually did.

Monkstrap loafers are an exceptional addition to any man’s shoe collection. Laces are widely used across the industry, so this style is a welcome surprise. The Valor and Renew, above, are made of smooth supple leather and offer a bit of lift with a padded insole and stacked heel. From the home to the office, these oxfords add a little extra polish to his refined dress.

If you want to strike the right balance between dressy and casual, an ankle boot for him is the superior option. He’ll love the nontraditional grey and navy suede of the Hestonn and Dabney, respectively, as well as the contrast stitching for added dimension. Jeans, khakis and colored denim make for a great pairing with these boots.

Go over the ankle with the Bryce Zip or Sebago Wing Tip boots. Both of these designs incorporate rustic charm with rugged appeal, and can be worn long after the fall and winter months subside. Despite their unorthodox outer styles, their comfort and durability is truly second to none.

Leave behind the ugly snowman tie and opt for one of these fun accessories instead. A man never looked more handsome when wearing a colorblock wool scarf. Other stocking stuffer ideas include assorted socks and stitched deerskin gloves, just so he knows you care.

Menswear Monday: 8 Casual Winter Wearables

Brian here, back with another post to help you find great pieces at Zappos and how to style them. This post is all about acquiring a balanced and fashionable casual winter wardrobe. First things first, ’tis the season to layer up! So I took the time to select a couple items to keep in rotation for the winter. These pieces are great essential items to a man's wardrobe simply because you can use them year over year, whenever the temperature drops.

ankle boots, blazers, coats and jackets, Menswear Monday, sweaters, winter style

PEACOAT You may or may not have one. If you don't, now’s a great time to get one! Peacoats are great for this time of year because they pretty much work with everything. Dressed up, dressed down, it doesn’t matter. You can wear them with slacks and you can wear them with sweats. It just depends on what you've got going on for the day. The Marc New York Mulberry Pressed is a great option.

WOOL BLAZER You can't go wrong here. Just like the peacoat, this item is pretty flexible. You can keep it casual by pairing with a nice dress shirt and a great pair of denim and boots. If it's cold enough, you can even throw the peacoat over the top of it. Keep in mind this Lindbergh wool blazer is much warmer than traditional blazers, so this may make a difference depending on where you're headed with it.

BOMBER JACKETS These coats are great casual pieces. They can be layered with T-shirts, sweaters, dress shirts and more. A nice pair of distressed denim or even joggers works well with bomber jackets. You can also accessorize this look by adding a round brim hat or fitted ball cap.

ROLL NECK/TURTLENECK SWEATER That's right gents, turtleneck sweaters have made a resurgence! These are great casual pieces that you can pair with a peacoat and denim or trousers. Again, this piece is fairly versatile. These sweaters are perfect for parties, events and just your normal day to day.

CARGO PANTS Did you see this one coming? Cargo pants are getting reformed to meet the way our clothing pieces fit to us nowadays. They make for comfortable, useful and fashionable pieces. They'll go great with your combat boots and also work with casual sneakers. Doesn't get more "cas" than that. Cargo pants also look great with denim jackets and shearlings.

ANKLE BOOTS These are a definite for this time of year. Great news is that we've got plenty to choose from! Boots keep your ankles warm and help prevent cold air from grabbing a hold of your feet. I left the option of selecting what kind of boot up to you. However, here are three I'd suggest to keep in your closet. The first is the Searcher Boot. They are extremely versatile and durable. These boots are the epitome of casual. They'll look great with pretty much any bottoms you pair with them.

The next style of boot is a Chelsea Boot. Chelsea boots are awesome. These can be both casual and dressy. They also look great with turtleneck sweaters, a peacoat and a nice pair of denim.

The last boot suggestion I have is more about the fabric of the boot. Going for suede looks cool and keeps it casual. This means the style of boot can be anything you choose, but try to find it in this particular material. Nothing screams fashionable comfort like suede fabrication and pairing it with long lasting denim.

There you have it gents — a little more fashion ammo for you to use at your disposal. Pick up these items as needed and keep them in constant rotation for your winter wardrobe. As always, "It's all about taste."

Inspired By: Boho Moto

Today’s street style inspiration perfectly balances elements of boho and moto-chic style while attaining that effortlessly wearable look. With winter still lingering on in most of the country, it’s a great way to pull in your favorite boho tops for spring a little early, just by adding on a few pieces.

A great way to toughen up a bohemian-inspired look is by simply adding a nice dose of leather. First, top off an airy peasant top or sheer tunic with a sleek leather moto jacket. Pair with skinny black jeans and slip on a pair of black ankle boots to take the look from hippie to full-on hottie! Finish it off with essential accessories like a wide-brim hat (to pull from that boho vibe), a cozy scarf for warmth and leather gloves for braving the last few days of winter.
