The volunteers (some were even on their days off) visited some kids in Cynthia Cunningham Elementary School here in Las Vegas to brighten up their holiday season with some cool shoes! The kiddos also got some snacks right before they flexed their creative muscles by decorating their new pair of Skechers.

One of the great advantages to working with Naot Footwear and their United States distributor, Yaleet Inc., is getting involved with their charitable donations. Every year they partner with their dealers like Zappos.com to give away free shoes. Yes, FREE shoes! Thousands and thousands of free shoes and sandals every year are given to those in need. 

Many of these donations take place at homeless shelters across the country. This year (Zappos' 3rd consecutive year), we chose to partner with Shade Tree of Las Vegas, a shelter dedicated to helping women that in some cases are escaping domestic abuse or just need help getting a fresh start.  Oftentimes, these women are leaving their living situation with just the clothes are on their back and the shoes on their feet.  This simple gesture is kind of like giving a hug through a new pair of shoes. 

Zappos.com and the folks at Yaleet Inc. see these donation events as some of the most important and meaningful things that a business can do because of the joy that it brings to those in need.

The Volcom Give Jeans a Chance 2012 campaign is in full effect with a DIY Drive in partnership with National Coalition for the Homeless.

Here’s your chance to get involved in something worthwhile this holiday season! Gather a few friends and collect jeans that are in good, wearable condition and donate them to a homeless shelter in your community.

Ever since Sanuk founder Jeff Kelley happened upon a magazine ad for Operation Smile, he knew this was a nonprofit that Sanuk had to partner up with. Nearly two years later, Sanuk is still providing donations to Operation Smile, helping heal over 500 children with facial deformities worldwide—essentially changing their lives (and smiles) forever.

Did you know that 2.2 million people in developing countries, most of them children, die every year from diseases associated with lack of access to safe drinking water, inadequate sanitation and poor hygiene? We all know that without water, there is no life, but this is a daily reality for a large majority of the planet.

This is why the Zappos Family celebrated World Water Day on March 22^nd to raise money for one of our favorite charities: charity:water. We had a few challenges that employees participated in, all to raise awareness and money towards this great cause.  

At the end of the day, $1,690.75 was donated to charity:water! That’s enough money for 85 individuals to have access to clean drinking water!
