To coincide with their 60^th anniversary this year, Nina Footwear launched a new collection that is inspired by the classic designs of decades past called Nina Originals. This fresh new line gives a modern take on retro silhouettes that were made famous by style icons past and present.

“In 1953, Nina began creating fresh and unique fashion shoes with an original point of view,” says Flori Silverstein, Nina Creative Director, who oversees the design of Nina Originals.  “We return to that rich history with Nina Originals.  We reproduced some styles as authentic pieces straight from the archive and reinterpreted others, filtering them through today’s lens. We brought the best elements to Nina Originals, including fashion clogs.  Clogs, skimmers, spectators, oxfords casuals, espadrilles, platforms and lace ups are all part of Nina’s DNA from the 1950s through the 1990s.” 

Last year, we were honored to be invited to tour the legendary Nina archives in their New York City showroom. Flori Silverstein herself gave us a first-hand tour down fashion memory lane. It was definitely inspiring to see so many great designs from Nina’s rich 60-year history!
