What to Wear to a Winter Wedding

If you’re celebrating a winter nuptial or two this season, you’ve probably been thinking about what you’ll be wearing. We’ve rounded up a few tips and suggestions to get you started!

  1. There’s a fine line between getting dressed up and being overdressed! It’s quite the faux pas to outdress or steal the spotlight from the bride, so keep it classy and simple.
  2. Lace is a great fabric to wear to both a daytime or evening event. Make sure to wear a good base layer so it’s not too revealing.
  3. For formal black-tie weddings, a black dress or gown in a sleek silhouette is the most versatile choice. You can even wear it again at those holiday parties just by changing up your accessories!
  4. Guys, invest in great suit separates. A single-breasted blazer is a modern way to dress up your go-to button-up shirts for a wedding. Keep it traditional by wearing the matching pant or break it up to add interest.
  5. Wedding receptions usually mean dancing! Make sure you’ve broken in your new dress shoes before hitting the dance floor. You don’t want to end the night with blisters. Ladies, Foot Petals are a great idea just in case!

Check out some of our picks below for a great winter wedding outfit. For even more ideas, visit the Zappos Wedding page!

The Stylish Spring Groom

A well-dressed groom is the best complement to the gorgeous bride. We’ve gathered a few of our current favorites for the springtime groom—particularly for a more low-key outdoor wedding.

A daytime outdoor event allows the groom to have a little more fun with his ensemble, stepping out of the usual black-tie tux and into something more relaxed and perhaps something a little unconventional.

While it’s true that the bride is the star of the big day, the groom is her knight in shining armour…or should we say knight in a nice suit? Whether you’re planning a small, intimate wedding, or a massive event, the groom sets the style of the ceremony before his bride walks down the aisle. Why shouldn’t he look his dapper best?

Here are just some of our favorite pieces fit for the dashing groom:

1. Stacy Adams Rudolph Cuff Links: A classic set of cuff links polishes off a nice suit jacket perfectly.

2. Stacy Adams Solid Ribbed Woven Tie: Whether you go for colors, neutral black or metallic, this sleek tie is great for lots of occasions.

3. Donald J Pliner Rex: The pristine silhouette of these dress loafers is refined and timeless.

4. Calvin Klein Gareth 2: Fancy enough for a black tie wedding, the high polish on this dress oxford works well with any tux.

5. Calvin Klein Gilford: This gentlemanly dress loafer is a modern twist to a classic.

6. Steve Madden Raddley: These more low-key oxfords are the perfect basic for both special occasions and the office.

7. Moods of Norway Kristian Vik Button-down Shirt: A crisp white shirt makes for the perfect layering staple, especially for the groom’s big day.

8. Moods of Norway Rune Tonning Classic Blazer: Its slim cut and simple elegance makes this dashing blazer a must-have for the modern groom.

9. Moods of Norway Atle Tonning Plaids 8 Blazer: For a less formal wedding, this cool blazer is a great alternative to basic black.

10.Theory Xylo Blazer: We love the idea of a rich navy suit for a daytime wedding.

We're huge fans of the cheerfully quirky yet sophisticated style of Moods of Norway. So when we saw that heartthrob Bronson Pelletier from the Twilight series wore a Moods of Norway outfit during the MTV Movie Awards, we were undoubtedly stoked.

The suit Bronson was wearing is the Moods of Norway Atle Tonning Plaids 8 Blazer (photo above). He rocked it quite dapperly with a simple black bowtie and sleek tuxedo-style pants

Did we mention that Zappos.com is the only place online where you can get this Moods of Norway suit jacket? We love it paired with the matching Even Flo Pants Plaids 8.

It wasn’t all that long ago when a man’s professional wardrobe consisted only of standard black or grey business suits. This one-size-fits-all approach to office attire can sure lead to wardrobe doldrums. With business-casual ensembles being more of the norm these days, we’re excited to show you two dapper stylists’ picks for a more stylish day at the office.

The first outfit is a great way to do separates. A cool plaid suit jacket over a sweater vest and khaki twill cargo pants gives off a more inventive and laid-back style.

For a monochromatic business-casual look, the second ensemble features a v-neck sweater worn over a plaid button-down shirt and dark grey dress slacks. Finished off by classic black oxford shoes and a black briefcase, and you’ve got a pulled-together look that never goes out of style.
