I was 8 years old and in the second grade when I first discovered the Spork. Simply put, my mind was blown! This revolutionary invention transformed the way I ate that entire school year, and the ones to follow. Never again did I, or do I, have to choose between a fork and a spoon when eating mac ‘n’ cheese, mashed potatoes, spaghetti or even ice cream without the fear of ridicule. The combination of the two not only makes consuming food easy, but pretty darn cool too.
Kiddos today, however, have taken the coolness out of the cafeteria and brought it to the playgrounds thanks to the innovative folks at Stride Rite. If you haven’t seen or heard, the company has reinvented the shoe by blending together elements of a sneaker and a snow boot. Yes, that’s right, the “snoot” is the next big thing for toddlers and little kids alike!
This hybrid design allows kids to run, jump and play in snow with ease all while keeping their little feet warm and protected from chilly temperatures. The fold-down shaft also makes it convenient for those winter days when snow is not yet a factor. Traditional winter boots can be clunky, uncomfortable and hard to get on, but the grip-and-grab strap of the snoop makes it quick and convenient for parents to get their little ones dressed.
