ICJUK (Inspired by Claire Jane) is a line of custom vintage feathered handbags and hair accessories described by many as “sophisticated rock n’ roll’ taking colorful fabrics, exotic prints, feathers and eye-catching vintage embellishments to create the ultimate in rocker chic and elegance. Claire Jane’s one-of-a-kind accessories are proudly worn and adorned by a growing list of exclusive clients from all over.
Claire Jane Vranian started work in the film industry at the legendary Pinewood Studios and moved to Los Angeles in 1994. She was recruited by ‘Two Hours in the Dark’ a makeup effects/production company. Over the next 17 years she would work on various commercials, television shows, pop promos as well as over 40 motion pictures - working closely with writers, directors, painters, sculptors, actors and artists of every kind.
Back in 2009, Claire Jane felt the need to express herself creatively with something that was personal to her. After working in such a rich environment of creativity for so many years, along with her life-long love of fashion and music, ICJUK was born.
“I feel if you are going to wear accessories, make it count and make a statement! Growing up in England, I was influenced by so many different things--traveling, theatre, films and of course, music. The Royal Wedding was very high fashion and formal and that also inspired me to create more of my hair fascinators, I think it’s imbedded in my British culture!,” - Claire Jane.
All eyes were on the UK this morning with the grandest, most publicized wedding in almost three decades, William and Kate’s royal nuptials. With all this buzz around the royal wedding, we thought we’d pay a little homage to our British blokes and lasses with some of the best modern fashion the UK has to offer.
Sure the Brits are all about pomp and circumstance, but when it comes to churning out the freshest fashion, they’re really on top of their game. There’s the cool and refined style of Ben Sherman, the freshly tailored ONETrueSaxon, and the classic, iconic design of Fred Perry. We also love the inventive yet polished style of Ted Baker, particularly their women’s collection. Check out the Ziaz Bow Neck dress. We think Kate Middleton would look quite stunning in it!
Last but certainly not least, another noteworthy British brand is Boxfresh. This hip London-based brand truly reflects the dynamic British streetwear scene in all of its glory. Oh, and did we mention that Zappos.com is an exclusive online retailer for Boxfresh in the U.S.?
Sign up for the Boxfresh Sweepstakes on the Zappos.com Facebook page for a chance to win a VIP camping experience at the Isle of Wight Festival. The Isle of Wight boasts a stellar lineup that includes Kings of Leon and the Foo Fighters! Hurry, the contest ends May 12th!
When it comes to iconic style, the Brits have always been at the forefront with their classic-meets-modern sensibilities. After all, our neighbors across the pond can be credited for so many looks that are now a part of a universal fashion vocabulary. From punk to collegiate preppy and everything in between, British fashion has never failed to be ahead of the curve.
Each of these British brands is heavily influenced by the dynamic music, pop culture and fashion scenes of London. From the street-savvy style of Boxfresh and Ben Sherman, to the more traditional yet distinctive style of Ted Baker and Ian Poulter Design, British fashion is a healthy mix of fashion-forward and classic.
