Wednesday, March 30, 2011 was a night I will never forget.

The Vivienne Westwood Los Angeles store grand opening was a star-studded red carpet extravaganza of exciting elegance.  It was an invitation-only event and I felt so honored to have been invited as I have been an avid Vivienne Westwood fan and collector of her clothing for many years.

We were ushered inside as we arrived. Waiters roamed each floor serving champagne, wine and scrumptious hors d’oevres. 

The Vivienne Westwood Los Angeles store is three levels.  The first floor is the Vivienne Westwood store, which is the only store in America.This stunning store carries all of her collections which include: Vivienne Westwood Anglomania, Red Label, Gold Label, MAN, World’s End collection, jewelry, perfume, bags, scarves, baby items, and notebooks. The second level is the showroom and the third level is a beautiful open balcony where you can get a breathtaking bird’s eye view of Los Angeles.

We waited in anticipation as stars arrived one by one.  Each star walked the red carpet where paparazzi snapped pictures and the interviewer asked them questions.  The endless flashes of cameras were blinding! Vivienne Westwood, Andreas Kronthaler (Vivienne’s husband and creative director), Kristin Davis, Marilyn Manson, Dita Von Teese, Kelis, Christina Hendricks, Misha Barton, Maila Ackerman and Anna Kendrick were just some of the stars that attended this gorgeous gala.

In the midst of this glamorous opening event, Vivienne Westwood fashion shows were playing on the walls.  The captivating crowd was a magnificent mix of all types of interesting people.  The highlight of my evening was meeting Andreas Kronthaler and getting a picture with him.  I wore my plaid Vivienne Westwood MAN suit and he said I looked “wonderful.”  I just about passed out!
