Our friends at Dodge were kind enough to visit Zappos HQ on Thursday for a “Test Drive for Charity” event. For every person who test drove a brand new Dodge Citadel, Dodge Journey or Dodge Challenger, they donated $20 to Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation. At the end of the event, we had 233 test drivers for a total donation of $4,660!

Dodge even treated us to a BBQ lunch! Thank you so much to to the great folks at Dodge for not only letting us test drive their cool new models, but for donating so generously to one of our favorite charities.

You may remember a couple of months back when we featured the amazing employee initiative (led by Zapponians Pua and Rian) to raise money for charity:water. The challenge was to raise $10,000 by our next Zappos Family All Hands meeting this August.

We are so proud and excited to announce that the Zappos Team Challenge well surpassed its $10 K goal last month. Pua and her amazing team decided to take the challenge to another level—to $20,000 by the next All Hands!

Their latest fundraising initiatives were a huge raffle (with prizes from over 30 sponsors) and a pool party called Wet 4 Wells, which took place this weekend.

At the time of this posting, the Zappos Team Challenge is only $700 away from its $20,000 goal!

It’s truly amazing what a few passionate and determined Zapponians ignited to raise so much money and awareness for this great cause.

Our Zappos HR advisors held a very unique canned food drive recently to benefit the Three Square food bank. They rallied everyone at Zappos HQ to donate at least three non-perishable food iteams, which is enough to feed one person for a day. But here’s the twist; they also challenged teams of five or more to construct a structure made entirely of canned goods! The bigger the structure, the better because each can goes back to the canned food drive.

In the end, the structures were judged by the advisors team and the top 3 were (drumroll please!):

3^rd place: Zappos Development Direct Marketing team with “Can Desk” (top left)

2^nd place: Zappos Merchandising Clothing Team with “Can Castle” (bottom right)

1^st place: Zappos Merchandising Casual Lifestyle Team with “Can Ugg Boots” (top right)

The top three entries received special hand-made trophies...made of cans of course!
