Today, Zappos is happy to release the latest update to its Zappos app for iOS (iPhone®, iPad® and iPod®): Version 2.9.0, which offers some exciting improvements to the Zappos shopping experience on a phone or tablet.
Customer Account Improvements
We’ve continued to renovate our user account information and the latest update increases a user’s control of his or her account.
In addition to being able to modify saved billing information and saved shipping address information, users can also modify their account password. We’ve also added the ability to set a primary billing information and shipping address for faster checkout!
Once a primary billing and address are set and verified, Zappos shoppers can use “EXPRESS” checkout to skip the selection process and go directly to the “Submit My Order” screen. If the purchase is a gift, users will see another added bonus: we’ve added personalized gift messages as an option in the checkout process.
We’ve always considered the detailed order history within Zappos mobile apps a key differentiator. The “My Account” section features each shopper’s entire Zappos purchase history, accurate order status information, visual live order tracking and access to our easy return process.
We put a cherry on top with 2.9.0 by adding product images to order numbers on the order history page so it’s easy to tell which order is which. Tap the product image to see the other items in the order.

We’ve also made the checkout experience more intuitive by detecting out-of-stock items in the shopping cart before the checkout process begins. If the item requested is out of stock, shoppers can move that item to their favorites and we’ll notify them with a push notification when it’s back in stock.
Browsing and Searching for Products
One of the best parts of the Zappos app is the fun and ease of finding the products you’re looking for. We’ve already got streamlined category navigation, powerful search as well as easy access to recent and saved searches right from the search entry field.
With this update, we’ve taken our powerful sort and filter options a step further: users can now exclude brands, specific styles, colors (and more!) they don’t want to see results for. For example, if you want to see every new blouse but hate the colors red and orange, you can just filter red and orange items out. So much easier than selecting every single color other than red or orange, right?

Cats, Dogs, Robots and Zappos Flair
Zappos isn’t just known for its unmatched customer service, wide catalogue selection, detailed product information and high definition images and videos. It’s also the market leader in quirkiness! This undervalued metric is something Zappos prides itself on and we’ve taken our “quirks” a step further with the ability for the user to choose their own “flair”!
An early Zappos feature, putting an item in a cart triggered a cat animation on the screen. Now, users can choose between cats, dogs and robots or a combination of them to add their own flair! For added fun, try shaking your iPad while on the Zappos App home screen, and see what happens next!
