Good news to those who love all things that sparkle! Gone are the days when glitter and sequins were confined to strictly eveningwear. Nine West recently came out with a glitzy crop of perfect “day shine” pieces that, when worn sparingly, really adds a fun to your daytime look.

Remember: the trick to pulling off the day shine look is by keeping it to only one sparkly piece at a time. So if you opt for a glittery bag, keep the rest of your accessories fairly subdued. Sparkle on!

Nudes: We love all the chic and subdued shades out there right now. The trick to wearing nude shades is to complement your skin tone. Fair-skinned girls should opt for more rose or pink-toned nudes. Medium-skinned ladies, go for nudes with gold undertones. Dark or olive skin looks amazing against bronze-nude tones.

Glitter: You know the saying, too much of a good thing is NOT a good thing? The same goes for glitter. To look tastefully chic, keep your glitter item to a single item, whether it’s the focal point (like the dress featured above), or a sparkling accent (like a glitter shoe or clutch). It’s important to not go overboard with this trend.

Plaid: Now for the fellas! Plaid has always been our favorite go-to print for guys. It’s easy to wear, and you can wear it either on your top, bottom or as a cool trim or accent. Want a more fun way to wear plaid? Try wearing a plaid blazer to a daytime party or wedding to keep things interesting!

Lace, red and pink are all too predictable for Valentine’s Day. Dresses always evoke romance – smolder in a black halter dress with ruffles along the hem (with tights if it’s cold out) with black accessories and sparkly jewelry.
