This week’s Zapponian Spotlight might look familiar to you, and for good reason. Christopher, better known as Gonzo, has graced quite a few of our funny Zappos TV videos. He works for our awesome AV team as our in-house culture videographer, which means Gonzo has one of the coolest jobs around: capturing Zappos Culture on video!
We asked him the usual ZS questions, and here are his answers:
Pick 3 words to describe your personal style.
G: Gnar (short for gnarly), Steeze and shred
Who is your favorite musician or band?
G: Can’t narrow this to one down, so I'll go with Sublime, Jay-Z (first 8 albums), Pixies, Ludacris, Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, and Eminem.
Name 3 things you never leave home without?
G: Skateboard, sunglasses and iPod
If you could have dinner with one famous person, who would it be?
G: Rosario Dawson so I can see if I stand a chance!
What’s the weirdest thing to ever happen to you?
G: When I found out that PBR (Pabst Blue Ribbon) is actually the hipsters’ beer of choice. Weird.
What’s your favorite part about working at Zappos HQ?
G: Other than the free iced tea, I would have to say the people here. I love em!! They are literally like family to me. Oh, and that I can skate around in the parking lot!
Skateboarding is really a sport of great passion, and éS Shoes has always been a firm believer and champion for big skate dreams. The skate brand recently did a collaboration with the movie Machotaildrop, a visually stunning tale about an amateur skateboarder who realizes his pro skating dreams while discovering a bizzare underbelly of the skateboarding world.
This trippy, critically-acclaimed movie takes its inspiration from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory with its use of surreal cinematography and quirky storyline.
Watch the trailer video for Machotaildrop below:

Ride with the fresh swagger of Lakai in the fresh-to-death Biebel 2 LK that features Lakaitning construction for the feel and flexibility of a vulcanized sole with the support and durability of a cup sole, minus the excess weight of both. Maximize board feel with the form-fitting upper and stay dry with the incredibly ventilated design. These kicks are repping the signature “Diamond” logo on the tongue and a sweet matching trim on the gum rubber outsole. Step up your game in a pair of Biebel 2 LK shoes from Lakai at the Rideshop.
