Last week we featured the collaboration between Lakai and Spike Jonze on the Pico sneaker.  Now, we’re highlighting yet another fresh Pico collaboration, this time with Andy Jenkins, art director of Girl Skateboard Company, and close friend of Spike Jonze. Andy is also a proud member of the Art Dump team, a team of creative minds who make up the Girl Skateboard Company’s full-time art department.

Andy Jenkins’ artistic roots started back in Denver, Colorado where he moved when he was 17 and attended art school. He soon moved to California and spent the next several years working as a magazine editor, writer, designer and illustrator. He joined Girl Skateboard Company back in 1994. His work has been featured in several exhibitions worldwide, as well as several magazines and DVDs.

The exclusive Jenkins-designed Lakai Pico is just another one of his creative outlets-- in shoe form. This fresh colorway has a cool grey and yellow combo with Andy’s signature embroidered on the back. Be sure to pick up your own pair today before they’re long gone.

Lakai designed these shoes in the spirit of the 2010 World Cup event. The first choice, the Jericho, is an obvious one because of it's already existing soccer aesthetic. Lakai further accentuated that look by adding a characteristic soccer stitch pattern to the toe and then applied a colorway derived from Spain/Barcelona in honor of Jesus Fernandez. These styles also feature soles comprised of new gum rubber mixed with regrind rubber waste, reducing new material by up to 40%.
